  • Chungliang Al Huang is the founder & President of the Living Tao Foundation and author of numerous best-selling books, including the classic "Embrace Tiger, Return to Mountain." Master Huang speaks about using the Tao philosophy of TaiJi and YinYang to embrace opposites and make a whole picture/life, and leads the audience through a number of TaiJi movements that incorporate key concepts and all parts of our lives. Master Huang paints five key Chinese characters and discusses the role of each in the dance of opposites.

    First time seeing this video. Embrace Tiger, Return to Mountain was the first Tai Chi book I ever bought. After almost 50 years of practice it is still my favorite, a beautiful presentation of its "essence". As a teacher through the 80's, I recommended his book and referred to Tai Chi as "The Dance of Life".

    Bless you amazing man. My son gave me a Ying Yang stone a few years ago after a holiday with my sister. He had many challenges on this Earth and people treating him unkindly all walks, ages, Oscar was just 16 years old an older soul he took his own life 2 months ago, my daughter and I did not realise how ill he was and he did survive 3 days gave us a chance to cuddle and touch him I know he is free and at peace now. We are going forward as much as we can and I now see him much more deeply than I ever did even though I made many changes in his life after bullying, lack of support etc. Thank you 🙏 I will be looking at this to help me going forward we are Empath’s

    OMG! OMG! OMG! OH MY MERCIFUL GOD! When I am a child they teach us these words:
    'Your cure is within you, if only you can see
    And your sickness is from you, if only you can feel
    You might think that you are a small body, but in fact
    the great world is hidden inside of you'
    The person who said these words was the greatest human being ever walked in this planet! He is Imam ali who was living on this earth before approximately 1400 years ago. This person unbelievable incredible the awesomeness and holiness soul in holiness body. I wish I see him to kiss his feet 💙

    • @alexhall6943
      @alexhall6943 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      ... just watched this clip (5 years after you posted your question). I believe he's using 'Zen Circles'. I don't know if these originated in Japan or China but they are an important icon of the Zen (Chan) Buddhism that China spread in Japan. Zen Buddhism is a mixture of Daoism and Buddhism. I'm not clear on precisely how much the Zen circle technically represents the Daoist concept of TaiJi and or how much it represents Daoism's Wuji. I think that on a basic level it represents Wuji but don't quote me on it (the distinctions are apparently oppositional but not solid in certain senses anyway). In any case you can say that Taiji is within Wuji, so probably you can also say that the two classic Taiji fish are usually swimming in a Wuji circle symbol. Here the opened circle is probably inspired or informed by the Zen Circle version. The Yinyang symbol has many variations that have come in and out of fashion over the centuries, having an open circle aspect is pretty cool to me

    Saruman the White was too focused on the Intellectual/Cosmic energy. He ignored the people, the Earth. Thus he became Imbalanced. Gandalf the Gray connects with the people of Middle Earth, yet he also had a connection to the Cosmic energy. Gandalf draws his energy from all sources.

    • @DanGrossberg
      @DanGrossberg 7 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Interesting. To extend the analogy, Radugast the Brown focused much more on Yin/Earth energy, ignoring Ren/People and Yang/Sky.

      There was also an element of one must fall so the other could take his place. As Saruman succumbed to the ancient magics and dark technologies of Mordor, Gandalf plunged into the abyss fighting and vanquishing his own ancient foe from an earlier age and emerging again into the world as Gandalf The White to help shepherd the world from the Third Age to the Fourth and then pass on to Valinor with the Ring Bearers.

    • @dawnli5749
      @dawnli5749 ปีที่แล้ว

      A simple answer could be: Our daily life is part of the day and night cycle. The sun rises from the east (yang rising) and sets in the west (yin rising). That is a clockwise direction.
