    Answer is diversification. Being able to do multiple different stuff to earn ISK and setting yourself goals will save you from burnout. One of my first goals was to go omega and get Astero and covert ops cloak for exploration. Then over the years things like being able to fly Hecate and do highsec escalations, or being able to fly Ishtar, Orca, marauders....triglavian ships. Being able to manufacture own ship/modules, doing inventions, reactions, setting up PI chains....And the beauty of the EVE is there is so much more to do in the game.

      I think being able to have as many passive ISK sources as possible is the best way.

    True, t's a very gradual process and sometimes we don't even notice we are making a lot of ISK because we are also spending more as we go.
    EVE is about the slow burn and the joy in learning how to fend for yourself, with time you start to feel proud of the knonwledge and the systems you've built.
    I've once quit EVE around 2016 because I've lost a 1b Legion. With time I understood 1b is not the end of the world and it's quick to recover from.

      Yeah, death stings but with the whole Souls Series just blown up and the extraction looters you'd think people would be used to the resets.

    I do PI because it suits me down to the ground. I've been playing since 2004 with the odd break (mostly due to disillusionment or burn-out) but I've always come back with a fresh idea. Running two accounts with all four alts fully trained for PI allows me to plex one account and still make a profit. It's not something I've always done but, having lived in WH space and nullsec, I can enjoy hisec for its almost relaxing ambience. Yes, it is like a full time job or, to put it another way, running a business where you are always looking to reduce overheads and maximise profit. I'm 61 and it's a damn good way to keep your mind active. Nice video btw

    +1 Aceface on your answer. This sort of question is common throughout ALL the online games. I only hope they appreciate you taking time to answer it.
    I joined the game last summer 2022. Eve reminds me a lot of an old stand alone game I use to play about 30 years ago. Thus I don't play to get "ISK rich", I play for my own goals. I think across all my characters in Eve I have about 500 million, which is more than enough for me. Goals are the most important factor to make this or any other MMO/PvP worth playing. If I wanted ISK -- that badly -- I would just buy the Plex and sell it for ISK. You hit upon a few ways to make ISK, but I made my start up seed ISK doing ALL the career missions.
    Note: When I said ALL, I mean all 4 factions at all 12 sites. Each career chain gives you ships, parts, and roughly 5 million or more ISK to play with in the game. I also have a character rotation. I dedicate one character to skill training each month, one will use a venture to mine in low sec, and the third will play the market placing orders low in a region to be picked up at the end of the month and sold for profit. This is my simple casual approach for Eve Online. Currently I don't need to get online every day for long periods of time.
    Fun is where you find it. Goals for my fun will not match others. Seems to be a bloodthirsty lot, who hang their hat by gates, waiting for my truck drivers to pass through them. I like to plot out fast alternate routes to avoid the gankers. If or when I get ganked, that is all part of the challenge. Most of the time I only lose a scout with a small load. Presently, I haul materials with several Tayras and more waiting just in case they get ganked. There are tons of free Ventures in the career quests, I don't recall the last time I used ISK to obtain a replacement Venture.
    Have fun gaming!

    Exploration with a mobile depot and expanded probe scanner so you can pick up those drones. Drones have high volume though. I feel like most people's issue is they want to get enough isk each month to plex their account and that's what causes burnout

      that's exactly what did it for me. running incursions was close to risk-free huge isk faucet, but trying to do enough to plex ultimately got me burned out on the whole thing. before that happened though, I had bought all kinds of blingy stuff, carrier, marauders, T3s, etc. Shoulda skipped trying to plex.

      Well said. The fact that you CAN pay sub fees with ISK in game doesn't mean you should. Most who have the money for the computer and internet access to play this game make money far more efficiently IRL. The game should be fun first, and if you find yourself in the position to pay your sub with PLEX? Bonus! But you'll burn out if it becomes a job.

    i have just completed all career agents and i'm just mining for now, i plan to start mining ice belts and do exploration in null sec once i get more isk and learn some things about these activities
    selling veldspar ( or whatever its name is ) makes me 500k per one full venture, and with 3 charecters its 1.5 mil. so i'm good, having fun for now but its great to know how to avoid burnout

      mining ore in a venture are allmost totaly worthless. what you want at that point are getting skills for gashuffing, and look for gas in WHs. when you fill up your cargo with gas, cargo usually worth between 20 and 30 mill in comparison to your 500k, so you can be unlucky quite a few times, and still alot better isk then ore mining.

    There are some strategies you can build around mixing alpha and omega time. (You can chill more when alpha)
    For instance some stuff like PI and research can be keept running when you go from omega to alpha.
    You can also do some hauling manufacturing when alpha, accumulate in hub, and sell when omega.
    Also, sniping the plexing discounts, or taking 3+ months instead of one.

    I started out mining, now I run one of the largest, longest lasting mining corps in my area. 10 moons pulling ore round the clock, makes multiple billion ISK big mining belts available nightly.
    Add a refinery, invest in a good rig, and the locals do the mining and I rake in the tribute and taxes.
    I take that and put up the best prices for ice and pi and make my own fuel.
    Income for no work...locals love me.

Then started getting into missions, trading (Between Dodixie and Jita), then Industry / Null mining then hiatus, I had 100 billion when I quit. Came back when abyssals came part time. Got into abyssals, wh, serious industry, T3 manufacturing and my isk just skyrocketed. Once every couple of months i purge my industry cuz i get burned out on it. Sell all mats left over. I only play maybe 5-6 hours a week.

It was grindy (despite how fun most of the FCs are and how good the VoiP chat is...the cost to get a good ship and the right modules to fly during my TZ (GMT +8) the return on investment was worth it.
    My problem was that despite how much I was making, I could not find another role where I could make money. I tried Null and just got farmed and lost money. I tried J space, just got farmed and lost money (fitted ship losses to PvPers for the most part.
    I'm now taking a break until I change my TZ and get some inspiration to do something different....

I always jumped into first things and got burned out every time. Abyss stuff I did too years ago. Used my rich isj base getting best equipped ships. I did it all. Ratted with titans, ratted with all faction supers. Sold super (aeon) through Cribba back in the days. I did wormholes. Man. At some point I was not 1 wh scanner for Darkness and Ncdot finding content for alliance just because that gave me content when I found good connections. Now I’m sitting with 160b isk, 100b in assets across 3 accounts. 2 titan toons, 3 super toons, all maxed out. Yet. I occasionally log in to get in trouble hehe

    I am actually against diversification. At least to me, the diversification and fear of missing out is what burns me out. I would rather razor focus on the activity I like most at the moment, and move to something else once I had enough. Or take a break. Again, I think the MOFO (fear of missing out) is the biggest burn out driver, at least to me.

  • @goldeneagle256
    @goldeneagle256 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    how to get rich? so to answer that you kinda need to ask yourself, how much do you need to make before you consider yourself rich? i know people in the game that could not care less about making isk at all, that just do pvp, and make more on the loot then cost of their ship losses, so they always have everything they want to have fun in the game. for others like me, just farming isk is big part of what i find fun in the game. if thats the case for you, theres actually scary many ways to make is, but only few options if you wanna scale it up a lot. Properly PI setup on 3 toons, can probably make you few bill a month if you keep up with it, but for me its so boring i cant be bothered. then theres ratting and mining, but you can only make what you can in comparison to how many toons you have and what type of ore you have access to. theres really 2 main areas where its possible to scale up your isk making, and thats industry and trading. i joined my current corp roughly 15 months ago rather broke, and only had isk to buy a ratting and mining fleet to get me started. did alot of mining in the start to build up stockpiles and started producing stuff to further increase my inncome, to point where i used 3 toons and had the capacity to build rougly 1000 t2 frigates a month, that made me fair amount of isk. about 8 months ago i had saved up roughly 8 bill i made into trading fund, and started station trading, meaning buying stuff in jita, and sell it more expencive on the local marked, that fund ive now inreased to rougly 85 bill, and im selling on average 400 - 500 bill worth of stuff a month on the local marked, and i estimate somewhere between 15 and 20% of it are pure profit, meaning we talking between 2 and 2.5 bill profitt a day on average from my trading. if you live far out in null sec trading are quit easi to start with, because even if you start with only 1 bill, and make 25% profitt, that means 250 mill profitt every time you bring full value of it down and sell it, then you have 1.25 bill for next trip, and it just grow fast. so when i update my orders before going to bed, i have usually made between 700 and 800 mill profitt when sleeping not even logged into the game. industry are allso great, because you can sett up like 2 weeks long jobs at the time, and have alot of industry jobs just making you passive isk in the background, tho you need quite bit of liquid isk to get started because getting stockpiles and blueprints needed arent cheap.
    so i was more or less broke 15 months ago, and could afford my jump freigher 3 months later, and now making easily between 2 and 2.5 bill a day on trading. takes me maby half an hour a day to buy restock, then i pay professional JF service to bring it out to null for me where i live, and put it on marked agen here. allso spend maby half an hour to 45 min during the day to update orders few times, and my net worth at this point are probably between 300 and 350 bill somewhere, and it grows quick, how much i make on the industry side i actually have no idea, but its quite desent aswell. on top i do quite bit of mining and ratting when i feel like doing more active stuff

    • @filiplonga

      wow, I really like this idea and want to do this too. Do you perhaps need any help and maybe teaching me something about it?

    • @goldeneagle256
      @goldeneagle256 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@filiplonga well, it cant be done that way in high sec, but you need to live out in null sec where stuff usually quite bit more expencive, and preferebly close to one of the bigger null sec alliances main marked hubs. then you want 2 different accounts, where you have one of the toons on one account placed in jita, and one toon on other account placed in that marked hub, and it should not be one of your main toons you allso use for other stuff. then its just look at marked and find items that sells fairly often at 15-20% + higher price localy then jita, buy it in jita, pay jf service to have it moved down, and then resell. what i would recommand you start with are something that sells in high volumes, like isotopes. i probably sell around 4 mill units of different types a day, with avr profitt of 80-90 isk each, and those alone making me like 300 mill a day profitt. might not have the highest profitt margin, but it sells fast. theres allso few different faction modules for ships that sells in high volumes for desent profitt aswell

      @Anthroplast ปีที่แล้ว

      yes, even a minimum wage real life job (in a developed country) will make you enough billions of isk to enjoy the game fully, with just a few hours of labour a month invested. Just don't go crazy on rare ships/faction mods/abyssal stuff and take the occasional loss here and there. Have fun, bleed a few bil per month - don't care. Just dont't burn yourself out grinding 50mil isk /hour ingame while you can grind 2bil/hour out of the game!

    i think the worse part of making isk for a new player is lack of knowledge. When i first started i was making 5-30m isk daily, now almost 3 years later (with only 6months worth of play time because i took a 2 year break) im now making 200m - 500m+ per char (using 3 omegas atm on a good day i can make 1b a day)
    Here are some things i do daily (i only live in highsec on my chars except for 1).
    Mining - Empire Border Spawns, Jackpot Moonfracks, Homefront Ops, Normal Moonfracks, Ice, Belts (in that order from best to worse)
    Abyssals - Easy isk for new players (T0's) and T1s once u get a good fit / t2 weapons unlocked.
    Searching Contracts for profit.
    Searching market for profits.
    and the funniest way i've made some isk is just low sec mining in a venture on a new alt. the amount of times i've been killed in a 2m venture with less than 1m in ore on me and been given 5-20m because "im a new player" is actually crazy. the most i've got from donations on my newb alt is 110m in 1 day lol.

Then i got alpha account with 3 char doing same... After a year of buying and selling (station daytrading) im now 50 billion isk and all other activites seem pointless isk wise as 15mim spent daily on PI and trade refresh is enough.
