Let me say this as an American.
Japan has literally lived up to everything they've agreed to, Japan deserves to have their military back. They fought hard in WWII, they lost, then honorably abided by the deals they made, rebuilt their society & economy. They deserve their military back!

Japan is unfortunately a very weak vassal state. If they want their military back, they need to eject the US. If they want nuclear weapons, they can make them but the American imposed constitution ties their hands. They have to rediscover their independence.

    • @Coxman
      @Coxman ปีที่แล้ว

Isn't that why it's called a simulation? It's patently obvious.
Still doesn't change the fact that China needs to be taught a lesson. So what's wrong if America and her allies like Japan, Australia, UK, India, Vietnam and Philippines help Taiwan defend themselves against China?
But what you can't simulate however, is war experience at sea and China has NONE.
If "Little Britain" can send a task force to defend an island thousands of miles away and take on a larger naval force and win, what chance does China have against 3 world class navies with proven war experience at sea?
It would appear that the simulations are sound in their results. Don't you agree?

I'm not surprised that the same thinktanks before the war possibly could had said Ukraine will fall to Russia in less than a year because it is small and has weak military. The problem with this simulations is they only consider the quantity of each side rather than the quality and capabilities that each side possess. Other than number, strategic intelligence, which country has the real most advance armaments, and actual battle experience are the important things to consider in a war not just how many weapons they have. Media is always giving importance to aircraft carriers, but they never thought that allied countries like the US and Japan have been continuously building lightning carriers which can help increase air craft carrier capabilites even if they were loss at sea.

Gravitas missed the main point of the war games. In 2020-2021, the US pentagon leaked classified war games, about 12 exercises and China won all 12 against the US armed forces (Navy/Airforce). Then in 2022 CSIS a neocon think tank held 24 war game exercises and came to the opposite conclusion. Who will win we the public won't know because we are not given any real information. But we can tell what different parts of the US governing elites think. The Pentagon does not want to fight a war with China. The neocon armchair warmongers do want an war with China. The armchair soldiers think the pentagon and real soldier are cowards perhaps even traitors. Real Americans conquer the world. A more thought out scenario is the Rand corp report. China doesn't start with missiles. But with a blockade. Imports to Taiwan of oil, LNG and all energy products will cease. All semiconductor exports from Taiwan wil also cease. In this scenario, it's highly likely that the US will bomb TSCM. THis has been discussed in Washington. Taiwan makes 50% of the world's chips. 90% of the most advanced chips. The US has subsidized 3 advanced chip fabs one from TSMC, Samsung and Intel each. If the war happens after 2025, the US will be hurt less by a blockade of Taiwan. But the blocade wlil cripple Taiwan econmically and it will cripple the US and the "west" when 50% of chips are gone. The US might blockade China preventing Saudi oil from reaching China. But Russian oil and gas will let China survive just as the new fabs will spare most of the chip pain from the US.
But the most likely scenario is that since Garland Nixon's satirical tweet, Breaking News: White House insiders leak that, when asked if there could be any greater disaster than the neocon Ukraine project, President Biden responded, "wait till you see our plan for the destruction of Taiwan." Taiwanese will vote overwhelmingly to ditch President Tsai's party in the 2024 fed elections. Taiwanese do not want to follow the path of Ukraine. In the 2024 Taiwan elections they will literally be voting for their lives and livelyhoods.

Forgot to mention that the wargames were conducted heavily in favor of China and has given US a lot of handicaps. One could argue that war is chaos and no one knows what will happen but the truth is with all of our modern weapons and force multipliers it is actually quite predictable now. In modern warfare, Technology and Economical strength is all that matters now, both of which the US has an edge. The US will definitely reel from the cost of the war, but China on the other hand would be thrown back to the stone age, the only good thing that will come out of this is that the CCP would be out of power, which is one less headache for everyone.

The US military remains the preeminent force in the world, not just because of hardware and funding, but because of logistics, tech, and an experienced and extremely well-trained officer corps, with officers who are empowered to make decisions without going to the top. Anyone who thinks any differently doesn't understand that we have never seen the US military actually use its entire combat capability, as it has always pulled punches to limit collateral damage. People also tend to hugely underrate logistics, and Russia has just demonstrated what happens when you have a military with lots of expensive toys but questionable logistics capability.
Neither China nor Russia have ever proven the ability to seriously project power, but in the event of a Chinese invasion of Taiwan, the US would launch air assets from its bases in Japan, aircraft carrier groups and other bases throughout Asia, demonstrating the value of force projection, logistics, comms, tech and battlefield awareness.

    Update memory:
In 1949, when the Communist Party was victorious in the Civil War in China, the Nationalist regime fled to the island then called Formosa. However, they did not relinquish their seat on the United Nations Security Council and continued to represent China on that body until 1972. This history is all too easily forgotten in the current discussion of the status of Taiwan (as Formosa is now known). .
Taiwan's president loudly proclaims the islands' independence and calls on other countries, including Australia, to uphold that independence when the Beijing government finally asserts its claim to Taiwan as a legitimate part of the People's Republic of China.
Completely forgotten in the current climate by the Taiwanese regime is its own history of pretending to represent China. How convenient it is to do without your own history when it no longer suits you.
In recent days, the Beijing government has flown an increasing number of military aircraft into what Taiwan claims to be its own zone of interest. The big question worrying both the Taiwanese government and its supposed allies is whether these mainland exercises herald an invasion.
    Thank you

Britain and Australia are not serious military powers. Canada barely has what would qualify as a military at all. The Brits now only have 2 wobbly Carriers that break down a lot and 10 Subs, and only 200 tanks in total, quite a pathetic shadow of it's former self. Taiwan it's self is quite small too. Only the US and Japan can bring serious force to the battle space, and China has home field advantage with 4x our population and the world's largest manufacturing base. And if it got really serious, they can pull out North Korea and Russia as allies.
