I cant wait to experience halo: Reach for the first time! It's such a beloved series by so many people and I cant wait to kick ass as the ever badass Master Chief.
We are back with more Halo. Ill be diving in and completing the game as well. I hope you all enjoy me playing Halo: Reach
Halo: Reach is a 2010 first-person shooter developed by Bungie and published by Microsoft Game Studios, originally for the Xbox 360. The fifth instalment in the Halo series and a direct prequel to Halo: Combat Evolved, Reach was released worldwide in September 2010
Halo: The Master Chief Collection is a compilation of first-person shooter video games in the Halo series, originally released in November 2014 for the Xbox One, and later on Microsoft Windows through 2019 and 2020. The enhanced version was released for the Xbox Series X|S in November 2020

No idea who told you that spartan lasers recharge but they were wrong.
This just gives you the feels for Reach. In the books, most of the surviving Spartans died trying to defend Reach, but had to leave.

Someone pointed this out on the Woolie playthrough:
Noble team all die in ironic/fitting ways. Jorge loved Reach but was teleported into oblivion. Kat was the brains of the team and was shot in the head. Carter went down with the ship. Jun the loner faded into nothing offscreen (he left). Emile trusted no one and was stabbed in the back. Noble 6 was forced to stop being a lone wolf to join Noble, but turned right back once they were all gone.
That's clever, I never noticed that.
It is crazy how they all went out that way! Tragic and poetic in a way!
The problem with your first sentence is that not ALL Noble team died. Jun survived after escorting Halsey to Castle Base, and later became one of the founders of the Spartan IV program where he personally trained Sarah Palmer and other recruits. As far as I am aware he is still alive in the current timeline.
I still believe that George could still be alive. Well at least through the events in Halo CE.

crazy to think this was Bungie’s last Halo game and boy did they hit a home run! Bungie’s run with Halo was always really appreciated they worked so hard tirelessly for those 5 games 💚
I honestly think all 5 games so far have been amazing! I love 2 and Reach a lot! but they are all so good!

Funny thing is this was 343 inc with the help of Bungie. Its why all elites started getting bigger and bulkier all of a sudden. 343 did this and the anniversary remake for 1 and 2. 4 was there frist game they did on there own.
@@blo0dysmiles297 no, it was all Bungie, hence their love letter to the fans credits scene, a quick search would have shown this, CE Anniversary was 343's first project, just porting over the visual assets from Reach. Bungie started the different design philosophy, although nothing approaching the abominations of Halo 4's Covenant design.
Man I've played Reach's story probably close to a 100 times and i still have to hold back the tear at that ending. Big sad.
It was really good and genuinely emotional!
Just knowing and seeing that the only other hyper-lethal spartan die really shows how tough the war with the covenant was

Actually, that was retconned a while ago. Chief and Six are no longer the only Hyper Lethal Spartans. All the Spartan IIs are hyper lethal, with six being the only Hyper Lethal Spartan III.
Spartans never die... they're just missing in action.

Like Halo 3 there was a thank you message from Bungie during the Pillar of Autumn Halo cutscene. Halo Reach’s story was Bungie’s cute way of saying Halo wouldn’t be as successful without the fans, hence your custom character handing Cortana to Keyes so the rest of the series could continue. It all came full circle(lol Halo circle)

That is such a determined and depressing quote if you think about it, A leader who has had to stand fast and strong to the face of billion's and has sent millions of soldiers into the howling dark to buy time for Humanity to try and survive, World after world, station by station, Wonder when Admiral Lord Hood is gonna just let go and rest, he's done enough and more like the Chief at this point.
We need to retrieve all of Noble Team’s helmets to begin the healing process, that includes Jorge’s. I don’t know how we’ll get it but where there’s a will, there’s a way.

That ending was so sad. but when I did it my first go I MADE SURE I took down as many as I could with nothing more than the butt of my gun with no ammo and an energy sword with no charge......

The only thing that I don't like about Halo Reach on the Master Chief Collection is that at the end when they show the Pillar of Autumn moving towards the Halo they took out the final note from Bungie that thanked all of the Halo players for playing their work.

@@GamerJoobChannel it’s like a little extra campaign that takes place after halo 4 but the gameplay is quite boring but the cutscenes are pretty good especially for the story.
And it give context to some of the halo 5 story

Reach is my favorite Halo both for it's gameplay and it's amazing storytelling. The emotional punch of each member of noble team going out is so well done and the fact that it managed to elicit such a feeling after only spending a few missions with these characters is really incredible. By comparison the only time the rest of this series managed to get this much emotion out of me was Johnson's death in Halo 3 and that punch was built upon three games and seven years of comradery with the character.
Reach and Halo 2 are my favourites so far!
I totally agree! they did such a good job in a short time pulling into the world with these characters so when it started to go wrong it was felt!

I have to say watching you play through this series has been fun and brings back memories. I have to say after the first three halos then playing reach after being vested into the story and lore it was great to play someone other than chief but very sad to build a relationship with the characters and watch them slowly become memories. Probably the only game I’ve played that actually made me tear up.

It was definitely an emotional game! it gave so much to the overall world building of the franchise and I really loved the characters! One of my favs for sure!
I just finished the MCC on legendary and decided to watch this, and one thing that just really made my mind confused is how you’re not strafing, crouching and going behind cover every chance you get

As someone mentioned, Jun survives but also a point to note, one of the ODSTs you saved in an earlier mission becomes a Spartan. He becomes a major character in the Halo universe.

The music in the Bungie Halo games was done by the composer, Marty O'Donnell. When Bungie left Halo to work on Destiny, he went with them. A new composer worked on Halo 4 and really went in a different direction than Marty's music. I wouldn't say it's bad but it's just different. So you might notice a big change in the music while playing Halo 4. I think Marty O'Donnell is one the greatest composers ever so it's hard for any composer to live up to his greatness. He is one of the main reasons why I love Halo so much.

Congrats on finishing Reach. It was the Rogue One of the Halo Universe, the events that set the first installment of the franchise into action (with a lot of good soldiers making the ultimate sacrifice in order for it to happen). And it was just as awesome.

There is another Spartan named Naomi-010 , she is the only one with the Mark 7 Suit , in halo 1 When master cheafs awake , there is another spartan still sleeping , its Linda-058 , But we don't know if she survived.
God the lone wolf mission shows just how powerful the covenant is sending an army after 1 Spartan that isnt even really a threat anymore it shows just how vulnerable and weak humaintys strongest soldiers were to the unwavering force of the covenant

You seriously have the sweetest reactions to everything. Are you going to watch Halo: Forward Unto Dawn before you play Halo 4? I would be so down to see you react to that. It’s a short live action mini series/ movie depending on where you watch it. It’s free to watch on Halo Channel on Xbox and I think it’s still on Netflix. It leads right into Halo 4’s story and you get to see Chief in the past as well as his Spartan II team and also get introduced to one of my favorite characters from 343’s games, Lasky.

That area at 24:50 is the spot where I once truly raged playing a video game. On Legendary there's an elite with a sword and I got the dumbest checkpoint right in front of it. I died to a suicide grunt and every time I spawned the elite was right in my face ready to swing. It got bad all I would hear was beep beep booop, slice, elite laughing. I was stuck there for like 45 minutes or so just straight spawn trapped. Funny memory now lol.
The Arbiter from Halo 2 and 3 was the Elite who led the attack on Reach and the first Halo in Combat Evolved
Yes! it is hard to think about after 2&3 but it so good how it all ties in like that!
"I'm ready. How 'bout you?!" Is the most bad ass way to go out.
The Package might be my favorite Reach mission.
You speed past Scarabs on a mongoose.
You fight all enemy types from Elites to Brutes.
It's the only mission where Emile is your partner.
It has Carter's death, which is the most badass of all the Noble team deaths.
You get to meet OG Captain Keyes.
You get kill a bunch of Elite Zealots *and* an Elite Field Marshal!
You shoot down a friggin' Covie cruiser!
You watch the Pillar of Autumn take off into space!
And it has that Master Chief Easter egg at the end! It's awesome!
On an unrelated note, I don't believe that 6 survived at the end. As much as I love 6, it would really diminish the final cutscene and Halsey's speech, if he was ever brought back.
With that said, this was a fun ride.
I look forward to your first play-thru of Halo 4. I was mixed on it the first time I played it, but it's really grown on me. Heck, my pfp is a screenshot of 4's EOD helmet, my favorite helmet from Reach's and 4's customization options. #EODgang
Fun fact: the first time I played I kept getting "I like ya cut G'd" by those hunters to the point where I just skipped them, via jumping thru the window behind them. I started with Reach when I got my copy of the MCC so me being a noob is the reason for my struggle.

After halo 1 master chief comes back to reach to rescue blue team. Halsey get rescued and jun still alive. The covis have a fleet of like 500 ready to attack earth with a big ship called unyeliding heliphant. It can carry like 300 covi ships. Master chief blows it up. That why in halo 2 the prophet attacks with only 14 ships. Cause that all that is left.

@@GamerJoobChannel These are the books you need to read Halo: Contact Harvest. This is when the humans first meet the covis. Sargent Johnson is in it. The next book is halo Cole protocol, then it fall of reach and then halo first strike.
If you want to read what happens after halo 2 you read halo broken circle. It talks about how the covis started to the great schism just before the end of halo 3 when the covis collapse. Finally is ghost of onyx. For now that is enough just read there spoilers online I guess. You need to only play halo wars to get the info on before halo reach.
Yea that ending made me cried. It still makes me cry till this day.
I have completed all Halo campaigns multiple times but i have completed Reach the most, although Halo 3 has my favourite campaign, Reach is just too damn good, plus the fact that we can customize Noble 6 to look like we want him/her to look makes Reach even more awesome, it greatly strengthens the connection we have with Noble 6.
I have also done a LASO on all Halo games too and Reach is the only one i'd LASO again i think.
LASO stands for Legendary All Skulls On btw.

The trucks and frorklifts are drivable as sort of a joke, but in the mission when you were in the mission where two scarabs dropped in, you can control a truck and its extremely tanky. You can't go very fast and you can't fire weapons but its very durable. It's funny too, well sad i guess, the start of the game they show your broken helmet all broken up and thats how the game ends. So if you customized your helmet before starting it would be painfully obvious what was to come if this was your first halo game. I've seen a few people play it as their first halo game (since it was the first game in the list on the master chief collection on pc) and a couple didn't realize this until i mentioned it and their minds were blown lol.
That is so funny you can drive those kind of vehicles haha!
It is definitely foreshadowed a ton and I definitely had a massive idea where it was all headed for sure! still sad 😭

Some people says that leg is the leg of the Arbiter but really no, is the Zealot that escaped at the end of the first mission
I didnt naturally think it was the arbiter! but I can see that!
They always seem to forget Thel Vadam's rank at this point too. He wasn't the Arbiter here, he was Supreme Commander of the Fleet of Particular Justice. Being a commander would mean that he never left his command ship and directed attacks from there.
Odst has an Easter egg just like that too in the epilogue when Johnson is talking to the engineer. You have to hold your stick the other way though.

@@GamerJoobChannel if I remember correctly, you can just load the epilogue straight from mcc without playing through the mission. I know for a lot of the games you can do that at least.

I watched another girl play the Lone Wolf ending just a couple days ago in almost the same exact way, just standing on that one platform and relying on the two turrets...it's strangely stressful because I know the area is huge with all kinds of weapons lying around and I want people to feel like they kicked ass before Six dies.

Master chief is actually in the cutscene where the Autumn takes off. When the pelican enters the hanger you gain control of the camera and he is to the right of the pelican in a cryopod

Reach is like ODST; they were full of potential.
They're good games, but their concept overshadowed the execution. They would've been way more emotional and effective if they had more money and time.
I really loved Reach! but I wouldn't have been against it being longer!

Now that you have beaten the game and spoilers for it are no longer a concern, I want to bring up the irony of each of Noble teams deaths.
Jorge: The Heavy weapons and demolition specialist, was blown up. Also was the only member born on Reach, and said he would never leave it, but he was the only one to die off planet.
Kat: The brains of Noble, she was shot in the head.
Jun: The "ghost"/assassin, he disappeared (I know he lived, but that was only made canon later, and in game he did just disappear).
Carter: The Captain went down with the ship
Emile: CQC specialist, very fond of his knife, was stabbed in the back
And finally Six: The lone wolf, died alone.

This hits a lot harder knowing it's Bungie last goodbye to halo, at the end of the game, in the original, while the pillar of autumn goes to the halo, Bungie thanked all their player for going thru all the halos and for being with them in their journey till the end

I know you've already played Halo 3 and watch the trailer but if you get the chance please check out the halo 3 Believe campaign. I couldn't find it anywhere on the channel and it's one of my fave Live action renditions of the game... It's also official and really cool.

Man the ending is just overwhelming, now for halo 4 (one of my top favorite campaigns since Master Chief gets character development)

But seriously what an amazing playthrough, Jade! What an ending! Reach is definitely cut from a different cloth than the rest of the Halo series, but that doesn't mean it's not absolutely amazing! I think Bungie wanted to do something special for their last Halo game and they delivered that and much more! Such great storytelling with amazing themes and undertones, and it ties in so smoothly to Halo: CE and the rest of the series, which I love! Also, the gameplay is on point. Definitely up there with my favorite games of all time. And thank you for going back and replaying just to show us your reaction to the Master Chief Easter egg! I love how Bungie added that nice little secret for us to find.
Also, I'm sure it's been mentioned already by others, but both Jun and Halsey survived. Halsey continues to work for ONI and Jun later becomes a recruiter for the Spartan IV program, which is seen in Halo 4.
Thank you so much for sharing your experiences with Halo thus far, Jade! You've really grown a ton since you started this series, both in skill and knowledge of the Halo universe. It's clear that you love the world of Halo, and that brings me (and so many others) joy, because the Halo series has always been very dear to me, and I love to see others enjoy it as I do. It's always so enjoyable to see people play Halo for the first time, and you're vids never cease to put a smile on my face! I appreciate the hard work and dedication you, Nick, and Jordan put into this channel.

Halsey also survived in a bunker at a base called castle-base, where she was apparantly working on something, Chief returns to Reach between Halo 1 and 2 and picks up Halsey together with Blue Team (Chief's primary team). How exactly Jun made it off the planet is unknown, at least in canon. But there are a couple really good non-canon versions.

@Gamerjoob, out of curiosity, how long did it take for you to realize that the helmet in the opening cutscene was your character's helmet? For me it actually took until the end of the game though I did think it suspicious that the cutscene showed the fully upgraded Recon armor which I had from pre-ordering. That should have been my clue but nope, I ignored it entirely XD. Though I will say I had a sinking feeling that maybe my character wouldn't make it off Reach, or at least make it off alive. These feelings were because the setting was Reach and I was and still am invested in Halo's lore so I knew what Reach meant for the UNSC and for the Spartans. I knew how the battle ended. Another reason is that the game released just a year after Red Dead Redemption which is one of those few precious games that are not afraid to kill off the player character at the end.
