- My First Time Ever Playing Halo | Halo: Combat Evolved | 343 Guilty Spark. Ive never played the Halo Story campaign and I thought I'd give it a go!

I cant wait to experience halo for the first time! It's such a beloved series by so many people and I cant wait to kick ass as the ever badass Master Chief.
This is were it all began! What better place to start then the original Halo. Ill be diving in and completing the game aswell. I hope you all enjoy me playing the original Halo: Combat Evolved.

Man seeing people meet the flood for the first time just feels like a breath of fresh air, it’s like they don’t like the covenant at this point then they meet the flood, then they want the covenant back.

The flood was a cool twist to the game. Scary but cool
I met the flood for the first time this month and yeah you are absolutely right. By the end of this mission I was like "please give me the covenant back" 😭
They have a sad little detail in that flood level. If you explored the area, you'd find a ledge with the dead bodies of both humans and covenant surrounded with blood and their weapons. They were actually so scared that they put their differences aside and fought together against the flood

It hurts to see her not notice the flipped warthog or find the rocket launcher or sniper on the ground.
But it is good to see her so enthusiastic about the game and not just shoot the guy who's going crazy.
I definitely was less perceptive in Halo 1 for sure haha! I guess I just played it more like other shooters I have played! I think I got a lot perceptive of the open sort of design in 2 & 3! 😊
But yes I am genuinely enjoying the games so much and I am glad you can see that 😊

The skipping of scorpion tank was even worse but made this pretty unusual playthrough for sure lol

Those green drips and the bloodied elevator shaft are a perfect example of how the new graphics ruin the foreshadowing. Next time you play this level watch your motion sensor before entering the facility and look at what are showing up as friendlies.

Ya know, as much as I love the details of the new graphics, it really kinda ruins the horror of the flood in my opinion. Too bright and well defined, verse the old ones shadowy blurriness. Excellent run though, it's very amusing to see people meet the flood. And you weren't annoyingly chattering like some do, so excellent on that account as well. Good day.
I didn't mind either visuals! I played the live on both and enjoyed them! but maybe that is because I didn't play it when it originally released! but I think OG was more atmospheric!

I remember me and my father staying up till midnight as my mum went out and bought us Halo C.E and I loved it. The music is engraved in my mind forever. The warthog gave me fond memories. The flood terrified my 7 year old mind that my father had to take over and even he struggled in the Library. I love this game and worshipped Bungie like gods.

I don't know why they felt the need to make it so much brighter in the new version. the old one made it seem so much more creepy and fun. was still fun to watch tho!

They made it brighter to make the players feel a little bit better about themselves (and Bungie was fired by then so there's that too), that's partly why I don't like watching people play 343 Guilty Spark anymore, they don't feel creeped out the same way I did when playing that lvl ( I was 8 at the time and started to notice that nothing was right at all only to stop at the guy screaming and saying all that stuff left me traumatized for 2 years straight)
yes, they made it too bright and detailed and too contrast. It just ruins the atmospheric storytelling.
I love when people play Halo for the first time after always hearing about it but the best for me is when they learn how terrifying the Flood are especially with OG graphics >:)

the Flood reveal is one of my favorite moments in my 30 years of gaming. it's just so god damn sinister. also, mendoza abandoning keyes and his brothers never fails to spark my ire.

I always wished that the exterior section of 343 Guilty Spark at the start of the level was longer than it is in the retail game, it's a great atmosphere builder, but it's so short!
The speed of realizing "shotgun combat form, auto weapon infection form" was on point tho
Dang if only you played 343 guilty spark in the ig graphics, they're much scarier and more atmospheric, the new ones aren't bad but it's really bright and some of the dripping and other visual effects aren't present in the "remastered"
I definitely plan to go back and play the game inn the OG visuals for sure 😊

Great playthrough so far, a nice tip from now on is that the shotgun is gonna be your best friend in these next missions. Also you should activate the subtitles since this is the only game with in-game subtitles, the others have only subtitles for cutscenes. I think you can manage to do a higher difficulty, you got the hang of it and Normal difficulty is not that hard, feels like you are not dying too often and one of Halo's arts is dying, some of the deaths can be hilariously. You should use the pistol more often, it's like a pocket sniper.

The introduction of the Flood is one of my favorite moments playing video games ever I was about 6 at the time so that might be part of it but I still get so excited whenever I see this level

Love how hyped she gets when she has Marines around, always loved having them around, wish 343 would make allies more present, yeah we got the spartans in H5 and some allies in H4 but having marines around you and not just super soldiers adds alot to immersion, great videos!
Imagine if they made a live action halo movie and centered it on combat evolved

Fun fact, the grunts or "little ones" are canonically on average around 5 feet tall....you just happen to be playing as a 7 foot tall super soldier in space ship grade titanium armour

Hey, about the Magnum, you should really use it more often, it's sooo good, you can kill a grunt with only one bullet in the head, so that way you don't waste a lot of ammo with the little guys, also if I'm not mistaken it's 3 shoots to the head to take down the elites:)

Seeing people encounter gun-toting Eldritch horror space zombies for the first time never gets old...
I have to mention, when you found the tank; yes you CAN use the tank lol. The driver's hatch is accessed by getting into the midcenter (left or right? can't remember) side. It's sometime easier to jump ontop of it and stand ontop of the hatch so the action button enables you to climb in. Worth a retry IMO. Not many Halo levels gift you a tank LOL.

@@GamerJoobChannel What helps is the grunts love to be splattered, they are quite slow in getting out of the way haha
Fortunately minimal FPS skills will get you through Halo just fine. All you need to be doing is examining vehicles more closely and using melee attacks whenever someone gets in your face. If you're on Recon, that should be the B button

watching you leave the tank behind hurt 😅. I was 13 when when this launched. It certainly shaped who I am as a gamer. Glad to see it still holds up for modern audiences. Personally, I prefer the old graphics, but that is probably nostalgia.

It’s always great to see someone experience Halo franchise for the first time:) it definitely has one of the best story’s of all time. If you play through all of them I recommend you watch the terminals each time you finish a halo game. The terminals add to the story with extra lore and they help to better understand the story (some may have spoilers so I recommend you try to avoid them until you finish one game and then you can watch them all at once for that game, they’re not that long). Great reaction tho! I’ll definitely be watching your future videos on halo :)

I got an original Xbox and Halo when the original Xbox launched back in 2001. Playing 343 Guilty Spark for the first time was equal parts terrifying and entertaining.
i always like watching people play halo for the first time. it reminds me of when i was younger and i played halo 2 for the first time 😂

Fun fact:
the little flood thangs or "infection forms" jump on a victim and go in there chest and tapping into the nerves system while the victim is alive than the victim mutates killing the victim and useing there knowledge and memory's to use a gun, open doors, or (if the victim knows how to lunch nuclear missiles) use nukes :)

Still remember my first time playing Halo. It was actually Halo. Was at a New Years party at my step-mom's sister's... Probably 2005-ish? I didn't know anyone there, but her son had an Xbox, and I spent the night playing whatever was loaded in. It was Halo 2 and I was loving it. Played through the first act and eventually borrowed the game from my cousin to finish it. Christmas 2007 I ended up getting 3, and I've been a big follower ever since, though not so much these days with how 343 has handled new titles. I do miss the Bungie days, but nothing good ever lasts.

Man I remember my mom bought me Xbox with the duke controllers on release with Halo Combat Evolved with it, even remember I got two free games because there where price changes in the last moment so Microsoft sent out a paper you had to fill in to send it back. Anyway, i remember being baffled how cool this looked and the big ass heavy console and the huge controllers for my little hands! I was 13 years old then. I still play Halo actively specially now with Infinite around the corner.

Look at the halo lore Jenkins survived but was infected and not in control 90% of the time and felt every ounce of pain as his flesh ripped and his bones broke and heard the floods every thought.

I have a lot of things to say about this video, like A LOT of things to say. Ill give out tips too . . .
Tips for playing Halo: CE Anniversary
1. When a grunt is asleep hit them it kills them silently and you have less work to do later
2. If you played Truth and Reconciliation then expect there to be invisible elites at every lvl afterwards
3. When playing the game itself pay attention to your surroundings it will help you counter any being whether it be the flood or covenant
4. Play in classic mode so you can get a better look at the flood as a whole different being and you also have better lighting throughout the game
5. When playing a Flood lvl, always make little pops with your assault rifle on the little ones
6. The floods weakness is the tentacles sticking out of their face
7. Pay careful attention to the dialogue it will be important later
8. When wielding the plasma and aiming at the elites hold the trigger then release at the elite, this will shut down their shields
9. When against a sword elite (As I like to call them) stay as far away as possible within even remotely 6ft you will die
10. Did you know that a hunters weakness in Halo is the red spot? All it takes to kill them is 1 bullet out of a magnum.
11. 8:58 Get that warthog & or get the rocket launcher in the area there, next time you can use it/them to your benefits
12. You can use the glass as an advantage to lock them down there for a short period of time
13. Don't reload every 2-4 bullets its a waste of time and will get you killed on harder difficulties
14. When you're behind an enemy run and hit them there while you have the chance 3:45
Personal opinions
Being a Halo vet and all that its insulting to hear you say that 11:30 its ugly? Fun fact I got more info on the flood and everything else that has to do with this game because I was playing in the "ugly" version. The music I hear sounds very annoying a lot of the time compared to Halo: CE's music. The design may look cool but the lighting screws everything up 53:21 it looks like he's outside rather than inside the building. The only reason for the creepiness on 343 Guilty Spark in Classic Halo is because that's what bungie (not Microsoft who created the halo you're playing) intended to do when revealing the Flood. It's very annoying to see you act like a newb when you spout everything that a newb doesn't know, for example: 3:49. The fact that you didn't pay attention to Echo 419 at 43:47 is kind of dumb, take a look at the tips I gave you. Whining about how dark it is 43:54 is sort of annoying. Another thing to say is that you didn't notice the lack of Hunters and Elites in 343 Guilty Spark along with entering the complex itself our guys would never disappear that fast down the elevator. That's all I had to say about his vid but other than that please follow the tips I gave you it will help you in the long run. Have a good time playing Halo: CE Anniversary :D.

It looked sweet seeing your reaction when playing against the Flood for the first time. It's good to see you weren't pretending to be "the perfect player" or overreacting (like having some of a little hard time when climbing to get the overshield or killing "balloons with hands"), you were just having fun and dealing with things that may seem "too easy or for natural skill only". I need to say it, your gameplay was very entertaining, so I hope your channel keeps growing and you can keep the good vibe.

Gotta admit, that was a very nasty grenade throw on the section in 343 Guilty Sparks... Normally you'd get surrounded inside that chamber and since you threw that plasma so freaking well, you ended up getting a lot of breathing room... Nice gameplay though

I remember when I first played this… after my initial run in when that music kicked in? And the mission objective said “Escape!” First time I got in trouble for swearing when I told my dude I was playing with: “UHHH YEAH LETS GET THE F*** OUTTA HERE!!!”

I definitely plan to! I am still making my way through Halo but it has been so fun!
One thing people often suggest to new players of this game is to keep the old graphics for this level. Why? the immersion is blown out the window with everything being so bright, it shatters the intended tension this level created. The flood were actually visible very briefly before you see actually encounter them at 46:10 but only if you walked across the log instead of going around, you see a few up high on the cliffs and running toward the entrance, they even show up on your radar. In the original graphics they appear as just outlines in the dense fog, making it even creepier for those who notice them (which is uncommon tbh).
You also showed no reaction to them suddenly using guns either, most people kinda freak out about that lol. 1:09:10 also they had a crap ton of ammo to the left you could have taken lol but you bolted right out XD
I have played it again on the OG visuals and I do think it adds a lot more atmosphere!

Just a fact: Proportions on screen can be deceiving. The canon size for the infection forms (the little ones) is 3 FEET tall

Jokes aside I'm new to the channel and I love her jolly mannerisms, the impressions, and the patience and appreciateation she has for an old classic. I can tell I'm going enjoy these playthroughs and perhaps more of the channel. 😄
