I appreciate this video so much! I start in 3 days for Mechanical Engineering! We share a lot in common and I wouldn't doubt we took similar approaches to our high school years. The only critique I would say it towards the "fake it till you make it." All be it, it works for a lot of people, but I think as Cal bears it's part of our character to be open to learning new subjects and being vulnerable to the class. Idk, maybe that's just me, but learning to give classes and teachers a chance contributed a great deal to my success. Otherwise, this is the best video so far on this type of goal. Well done! Edit: ALSO! Sleep schedule is huge! I sleep early and wake up early for my classes. (Fall asleep at around 9 or 10 and wake up at 6; most refreshing routine ever! Just a little bit from me)
Thank you so much for this vid! I love your process-oriented perspective. It’s awesome to see people have a passion for learning and not just letting the stress of grades take away from that enjoyment.
From 12:49 onwards, what you were saying, I've never really taken away from other videos and tips on youtube. How you described wanting to further yourself and falling in love with the process was so incredible thank you for this video!!!!
Such a genuine and wholistic video with a positive change in perspective. It is true once you change your intention-the outcome changes. Always set a positive intention for the receiver to be happy- when I do this with cooking it always comes out good (without a recipe). I have learned from you- much gratitude, will share this with my EECS Bear!
Hi. Thank you for the informational videos. My daughter is considering Berkeley this year as a premed and we have been hearing lots of negative things. Can you share your experience about research and clinical opportunities?
Hi there! First semester I was doing homework/review/studying/class almost the entire day. I’d estimate going 10AM-1PM, then lunch break, then 2PM-6PM, dinner break, then maybe 7PM-11PM. Subtract maybe 2 hours total for extracurricular work/phone time/exercise/talking to friends so that puts us at around 9 hours a day very roughly!
Thank you so much for making this video! I was super intimidated by Berkeley's rigorous and competitive reputation but watching your video made me feel at ease and more ready to commit!
