Hi lovelies :) I really hope these study tips help you feel motivated especially if you’re entering finals season. When I was in grad school, I had to work 5 different jobs while taking 6 classes, and sometimes I’d have 8 hour classes on Saturdays. Most of my weekday classes ended at 10pm. I survived and I learned so much about myself during those moments of extreme busy-ness! Hwaiting! 🇰🇷
Hi Maya. I find your content very helpful.. thanks a lot!! Would you be able to give tips on how to write a final postgrad thesis? Like how to get started, stay focused and finish it well ^_^ thanks!
the screen never becomes a barrier between us and the positive energy that u give us..☺☺😁😁u always uplift my mood when u smile and say welcome back. positivity. aah.
Maya you inspire me too much!! You're doing so much but you know how to manage your schedule so well!! I admire the fact you're doing this while there are some ppl I know that may complain when they had such a perfect job. Keep striving to be the best as you really are a good influence on my soul!
The tips: 1) prioritize due date and make a list of tasks 2) turning work in late should never be an option 3) adjust video speed on lecture videos or lesson videos so they are faster 4) be mindful of environment 5)draw images on notes, they last longer in your mind than text will and you will remember it better 6)be prepared before class and make sure you have an idea of what you are learning 7) learn subjects you enjoy or find joy in your subjects 8) ask the teacher! Ask for help! Ask questions! Use the study guide before the test! 9) repetition in notes, in listening 10) study groups, study with others, discussion helps with memorizing the content and teaching it to others helps you understand better 11) managing your time! Be aware of how long it takes you to finish tasks so you can divide your time for productivity and make sure you have enough time for your tasks Leaving this here for myself :))
When I was studying it helped me immensely to re-tell what I was learning. I'd say it out loud multiple times, I'd explain how the ear works to my dog. I would recite the cranial nerves to my friends. I just need to constantly say things out loud. It really helped me to remember!
I definitely agree that giving your students a heads up especially during these times. This will lessen their anxiety. You're the type of teacher everyone needs.
To anyone who is reading this, you are WORTH IT no one knows you better than yourself, people always judge others, cause it's easy... So don't forget you have to believe in yourself, you have to work hard to achieve your goals and most importantly your dreams, you are beautiful in the way you are so don't change your self you need to improve yourself you need to make your self better and you need to know all the humans are different, In their religion (l'm muslim amazaigh morroccon girl by the way ♓🇲🇦 ) if you're a muslim or catholic or Christian or Jewish or Buddhist or Hindu l'm sorry if l wrote them wrong cause English is not my first language 🙏 Or if you are black or white, if you're African or American or Asian or European or Australian l don't know we need to get rid of racism we're all the same, and don't forget about the earth we destroying it with all this plastic, we have to stop using it, And if we want to change the way the others think we have to start with our self, a teacher that l know, told me a story about a man( he's morroccon l think) , he love plants and he really want to do some changes to help earth so he starts by him self and he painted his house in blue and hung in it a lot of plants from the outside and inside, and started collecting rubbish, He started infecting his neighbors and everyone in the neighborhood and they did the same thing, And decorate their neighborhood with plants so much that you'll think you're in a forest. i will do the same thing when l grow up but first l need to improve... Hope everyone is doing well - Rim from morocco
Much needed as I try to make sure I have a game plan when I start college in the Fall. Thank you! I can't fail college like I've been failing life. This is a new beginning for me, I can't and will not fail. Also I LOVE it when you you post on Wednesdays too!!!!!!!!
I went from taking 2 years off (after failing my classes due to burnout) to a 3.0 for fall 2022. I’m taking 15 hours this upcoming semester. Possibly 18 if a specific issue doesn’t get figured out with my degree timeline. This video seems helpful so I’m posting this so I can come back in May and see if I kept up with my studies.
What i have learned is that when it comes asking a teacher some will break it down in a way you can understand , while others break it down in the way they understand (which can be difficult if you already don't understand it) What has helped me is going online and finding other ways of understanding.
I highly recommend changing the playback speed. I struggle with focusing and paying attention and the professor talked SO slowly that I literally would lost focus in the time it took him to get a sentence out. Speeding up the audio helped so so much.
Thank you for the tip on the extension to speed up lectures!! Game changer! I started my new semester this week and I am studying Primary Teaching as well :)
Thank you so much for making this as someone who worked as well. So many of these videos about being a 4.0 student assume you get to study as a full time job, or even imply that their classmates who do work aren't making as many sacrifices as them... P.S. You can also use Video Speed Controller to slow down Netflix shows, which you might want to do if you're watching something in a language you're newly learning. Try to get to the point where you can watch it at regular speed, of course, but it can help a lot to just get your foot in the door to be consuming media in your new language.
Thank you so much. I may an avid student and this has helped alot. Especially since I have a B- in science. The rest of my grades are A+ For 4:56 I have the same book but mines is math
It's so amazing of her to make this video looks like she is not whining or just showing off. Because these kinds of videos are kinda hard to make. Stay Safe everyone! 💖
This will really help me, since I am going into finals next week and have become very unmotivated recently. Thank you, Maya! Also, I choked on my soup when you were describing how to adjust playback speed and JK and Suga were on the screen😂 Love it!
I got 2.5gpa last semi's but life gave me a new start and I'm continuing this semister. My aim now is to collect all HD for my four courses this semister so that I would atleast bring my gpa to a 3.75. it's never too late and it's never a struggle if I'm determined. Thankyou so much for your tips ♥️
hi Maya nice to know you. just so you know i had no motivation to midterm in 14 dec. soo i go for youtube (for waisting my time). then i found this really good videos. it changes me.like. al lot. now is 11.25pm and i'll go studying. thanks a lot.
After reading your message about you not always being an A student, and how you overcame your depression through hard work, and God's strength, passion and purpose getting you there really touched me. My eyes watered. I read this scripture on my fridge everyday and it says "For I know the plans I have for you" declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11. I have noticed that the closer I get to God by trusting him and really just talking to him and pouring my heart out even when I am super angry, It has made a huge difference. So many doors close but many more open. Everything seems to move swiftly. I noticed that when I am impatient and try to make haste decisions thats this is not of God. For that is a spirit of fear and anxiety, that I will miss something but the lord wants us to know that as long as we trust him and continue to make an effort without losing sight of him that we needn't to lean to our own understanding. I tend to over think and think it's the end of the world when something that I planned didn't go my way. What I have noticed is that No isn't always a definite answer. It can just be that now is not the time. I am sitting here with my 3 month old in my arms and my toddler is down for a nap. I do have a lot on my plate right now and I am sure thats why things aren't moving as swiftly as I would like them to but I know that Gods timing is the perfect timing. He may not be there as soon as I WANT him to, but he is always on time!
Love your videos Maya!! 💖Definitely using your tips as I continue my education next semester spring 2021! I’m also majoring in early childhood education :)
