Another Stool of Hill Giant Strength - Baldur's Gate 3

This is the second Stool of Hill Giant Strength I've found in Baldur's Gate 3. However, unleashing its power is tricky. It's completely unlike the one found in Arcane Tower.

I think this is a similar “bug” to all maps in the game being labeled “invasion plans for the sword coast”. There is one specific version of the model which had its name changed, and it somehow also changed the name of miscellaneous items sharing the same model elsewhere. Either that or environment artist just didn’t realize the item they were placing had a special name/purpose other than being set dressing

I just did the Tower and looked for the stool and it just said stool. I broke it and nothing happened.

Yeahhh the stool in the tower is at the very top and it’s behind the robot very well hidden

I threw the stoll and it just broke, no club left.
Howver, the actual reason why i always go t that cave is the chest. There's the Bonespike Boots in there. Good for Barbarians, such as Karlach for example ;)

I remember finding this in my playthrough and I was confused why it had such a wierd name, but never did anything with it and moved on. Very curious lol. I wonder if it has any secrets like the fiirst.

Try having a berzerker barbarian use it as an improvised weapon, why not?

That'd be fun haha. Unfortunately you can't place it in your inventory.

BG1 and BG2 Pantaloon situation mayhaps?
Meaning, you might have to bring the items together to get the full effect?
Example, say there are three of such stools in the game, than bringing them together might actually allow for a permanent strength boost/upgrade.
Just a supposition though.

If you know of anyone with data mining skills, than they should be able to check.
After all, for all we know this 2nd stool is simply bugged and should behave in the same way as the other one.
Because that's another option.
But because Larian seems to like their Easter Eggs... Well, their own version of the pantaloons scenario isn't implausible either. 🤷‍♂️
As it would follow a similar pattern.
Short term Vs long term.
Short term: weapon that sets Str to 19 (stool), or dosh (pantaloon).
Long term: Permanent Strength boost (stool?) or cool armour (pantaloon).
Which does the player want more.

I tried this yesterday (most recent patch) - Sadly, no club/stool.
I got the one from Arcane towers though, so it might just be a question of not allowing two OP clubs in one playthrough.

It's not that because I found it but missed the one in arcane tower and it's useless. I've tried several methods and it doesn't seem to be any different from a regular stool aside from it's name.

You can get the one in Arcane Tower. This one doesn't provide any buff despite what the description says.

Does the buff go away as soon as you stand up?

Yes, but you can make a weapon out of the one in Arcane Tower that sets your strength to 19.
