I never realized that their were parallels between the prequels and the new jedi order series.
Also canderous, and his follow mandalorians encountered a vong ship thousands of years before the battle of yavin but the ship escaped, and much later before the events of the phantom menace maul fought and killed a yuuzhan vong warrior.
I didn't know the Vong hate for technology came from their own galaxy. Kinda ironic
It came from the Abominors colossal planet eating droids that destroyed their entire galaxy, the Abominors are the reason why the Vong invaded the Star Wars Galaxy thats why they HATE droids
Could you please cover the two battles where Luke and - I think - Kyp Duron used the force to manipulate Yuuzhan Vong created black holes (I'm pretty sure that happened).
ik he did it one of the first books and i feel like i remember reading he did it later in the series on a much larger scale
IIRC correctly Luke did that at Dantooine to kill one of the Vong war beasts (can't recall the name of the specific type).
I'm on my first read of NJO, while i generally know the ending it's always great to see how you get there
Interesting comparisons and a unique lore video, that isn't just an overview, but a nice look at comparing two different eras, but also looking at the time of its inception in the EU. Great stuff, id love to see more Yuuzahn Vong content. NJO is my favourite era.

Personally, the Yuuzhan Vong are some of my all time favorite aliens in all of fiction. For lack of a better word, they are unique. Unlike the Galactic Empire, who relied on massive warships, planet destroying weapons and endless numbers of Stormtroopers, the Vong are basically a galactic locust that swept across the galaxy and terraformed worlds. Their organic technology was something unlike anything the galaxy had ever seen, and that includes most of fiction as a whole. If I had to make a comparison, the Vong would be similar to the Borg from Star Trek only instead of massive cubes the Vong used Worldships, Chazrak foot soldiers and later the Jedi Hunters Voxyn. If there is one Star Wars race I'd love to see on the big screen it would definitely be the Yuuzhan Vong.
The major other comparison i can immediately think of would be the Tyranids of 40k, however the Tyranids aren't quite sentient individually the way the Vong were, and are closer to the Flood from Halo in their endless nom noming of life

It wasn't my first introduction to star wars, but I absolutely loved the NJO!! Always love hearing more lore.... it's funny to hear other people pronounce the same crazy names and titles for things in these books... they always sound different then the way I said them in my head!! Lol

Corey by myself also got reintroduced into Star wars the expanded universe with the NJO I started reading them in 2002
Controversial opinion but I always thought that Luke should've died in NJO instead of Anakin Solo.
I know this is kind of unrelated, but have you read the comic book adaptation of the original script of Star wars called "the Star Wars"? It is very interesting and different/similar to the final product. I think it would make a good topic for a video

Pretty much as soon as the Thrall Herder showed up in the Dantooine battle it all seemed pretty reminiscent.

I dont see it. The Vong warriors lived their lives as a ritualistic and personal sacrifice to their Gods and their society. The droids were a bunch of walking guns.
I think he was noting these particular battles as having a few similarities, not the entire Yuuzhan Vong and CIS societies.
I hate these out of galaxy invaders
If I wanted grimdark biotech only invaders from another galaxy I already have another setting for that, this faction isn't very star-warsy
