Warren, you are a patient and real teacher. A pianist of your acumen manage to play a song in its most basic form without the temptation of adding any complicated chords, licks and runs that fly over our head.......hats off to you man, some people simply cannot do it for more than 5 seconds without reverting to their advanced playing. When that happens, beginners like me simply get discouraged and walk away feeling that we will never be that good. Thanks you from the bottom of my heart
There’s a different between teaches and performers. Most people on TH-cam mistake performing for teaching. Like performing, teaching is also a skilled that can be developed, and at the heart of this teaching skill is patience and self-restraint. One has to remove self when teaching, knowing it’s not about me, but the student. It is a skill I’m still working on, so I’m a work in progress 😊
Me to, I am an older person trying to learn what i love so much, piano, but not gifted. Your kindness and patience is helping me a lot. May God continue his blessing toward you, Warren, thank you so much. Edmund
Many thanks, I am learning to play the example incrementally and it's a wonderful feeling. You are so relaxed and comfortable as you play. A few words on posture would be helpful to many of us. Thanks.😊
Thank you God! I, too, am an older person beginning my piano playing journey & have watched so many videos of piano lessons & today you led me to Warren…. a real & natural teacher!!! Warren … I get you! I cant wait to start working on my piano playing. You have inspired me to hang in there …. I get you!!! An unassuming teacher who’s not there just to entertsin me but to pass on your experential knowledge!!! Thank you Warren! And may God bless you for your simple explanations ….. what a gift you have as a teacher!!! I’ve been searching for YOU for a long time! Hallelujah!!!!!
I Thank you so much for your videos. I am an older person who has had many piano teachers but none have been as helpful as you have been. I thank God for you and pray he blesses you abundantly for your generosity in sharing your gift. I am my church's only musician.I have been struggling for years to grow pass the I-IV-V progression I used to play songs during worship and praise service and I used left hand octaves for the bass; but was unable to do so. I was beginning to wonder if I ever would. I have felt like giving up playing the piano many times. You have been a blessing to me and you have helped me tremendously. God bless you for your talent and sacrifice. Granny Tap
I am very pleased to hear of your renew enthusiasm and the progress you’ve made such far. Thank you for taking the time to share such motivational triumph 😊🙏🏾👍🏽
Thanks! I took 5 years of lessons when I was younger and learned that I don't like sight reading - unless I'm pushed into a corner. You have taught me more in 18 minutes than I get in weeks of traditional classes.
Hello Warren, I know I commented before, but I can't tell you how wonderful this lesson is! You start of slow (which is what someone who can play the piano considers slow) then you actually go slow to what someone who is just learning considers slow. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Mr Warren, I thank God for your availability in my life though we're but your teachings/tutorials and techniques revives me as you try to explain in details for the beginners, intermediate and etc. May God continue to bless you sir
I had to pause to comment. You're a blessing to me Warren. Now I play far better than I used to. I use ALL of the things you've said and maaaan I'm a better pianist in and outside the church. Thank you so much!!!!!
What a break through singing wise. When i was a little girl in the 40's I would listen to the exciting gospel singing of an African American church on the radio. It was so different from the gospel singing at the church I attended. I never could figure out how the singers vocally sang so much better than the choir I was in. Ha, ha, joy filled laugh.. You just gave me the key to understanding what they did vocally. Thanks for solving the mystery. Your singing along with the teaching really helped me understand after over 77 years. ( I was 10 at the time I listened.
A true gift from God, I've watched countless" how to play" videos and your method gets instant results...…. God bless you for sharing your gift. Thank U Sir!
Thanks a bunch Warren, this is one of the best video lessons from you.I have been waiting to know how to play this rhythm/arpeggiated broken chords.PLS do more on broken chords.God bless you.
It's a very nice video. Can you also make a detailed video on how to weave those rhythms with melodies? I also play at a church and I always need to play the melody for the congregation to follow. Thank you and God bless!
You got me started Warren !! As a beginner , I was just stuck exactly at Rhythm. I got past all other elements like, melody, harmony, chords and inversions, voicing and extended chords et all. But Rhythm simply eludes me......This lesson set me on course...Already run the video more than 20 times looks like cant get enough of it..Your tutorials are fantastic and down to earth. I am enjoying the lessons and pleased to see how they transform my piano playing skills................am an Indian based out of Nigeria....Cheers
