Love you that much. Such a knowledgeable teacher. Always learn music theory from you. Keep it up. Oh congratulations to you and your wife. I pray for safe arrival of the baby. Greetings from Scotland.
Mr. Warren, Thank you for your immense generosity of sharing your profound knowledge, understanding and skills of music performance and music composition with me and the world! But, I extend a special and heartfelt thanks and appreciation to you for your God-like Generosity of reminding me and the world of the greatness, the beauty, the giftedness and the pioneering spirit of Mr. Thomas Dorsey. Over the years, I heard about Dr. Thomas Dorsey, but he was never presented to me in the depth of his accomplishments in music in general, and Gospel Music in particular, and his "Divine, God-like Generosity" to music and his "No excuses attitude about Business: I'll Create My Own Opportunity and Not Beg Other People for A Fair Opportunity". Your example of recognizing, honoring and celebrating Dr. Dorsey for his contribution to Gospel Music, his pioneering and exemplary spirit of creating his own publishing company and charting his own destiny and not complaining about racism and somebody else holding him back is a model of inspiration to us all. And, Mr. Warren, your exemplary generosity and leadership of recognizing, honoring and celebrating Dr. Thomas Dorsey on your platform, which many would consider small, and not waiting for other people, other races, and other medias to recognize, honor and celebrate our great men and women is an exemplary model for us all to use our platforms to do the same. In closing, I enjoyed the lessons today: "The 3 Must Learn Gospel Technique", Dr. Dorsey's, No Excuses Model: stop complaining and begging other people for an opportunity and create your own opportunity, and the importance of us all, on a consistent basis, recognizing, honoring and celebrating our great men and women on our own platforms, and to stop waiting for other people and other medias to celebrate them. Thank you. LBH
Hi Warren , thank you very much for taking the time to teach people like me how praise God better in my playing . Brother your teaching has tremendously inspired me more and more . My prayer is that you would always be an instrument , a tool into the hands of God until He comes and take His Church with Him one day. By the way I am also from the Caribbean( Haiti) brother . Big Thanks to you . Stay blessed and stay encouraged .
When I first found your channel I thought almost everything was so hard to understand. Now I'm starting to understand more and more. Thank-you so much!
Man my mom was killed by a medical transport in front of me I was bringing her home from the hart doctor in 2017 Mahalia Jackson was my mother favorite singer and precious lord was her favorite song sometimes mom and God will talk to me by sending chills up my spine in a good way I told you my family died on another comment and they took the name off my church ⛪ so I had no where to go and it was really getting me down and brother you filled me full of light at very dark time in my life gave me a musicians church ⛪ where I can worship the lord for a little while and gave me shelter for a little bit thank 😊 you for that I really needed that more than you know brother thank you so ❤ 🙏 much man
Thanks Warren. Your introduction is the exact style of gospel piano playing I want to learn. That is so soulful. I haven't been able to find videos or tutorials of that style any where.
I get you brother... you see the feeling someone gets after testing something sweet, and they go like... huuuuuh, this, is, good who made it ?... but in church huuuuuh yes lord I love you huuuuh more than I can express huuuuuuh... and they know who hit the right note, Mr. pianist you hit it right where its supposed to !!!!
Precious lord keep me whole. Big shout-out to Mr Warren the man who is making a difference in my playing. God really bless you God increase all you have lost..... #Warren #Nature
Dear Warren, you are an excellent pianoteacher, excellent pianoplayer and excellent singer. I enjoy all your TH-cam videos. They are just great and very interesting. Hope you will be on TH-cam forever and ever. Your piano arrangements go right to my soul, and prove that good music connects all kinds of people; yes, I am white and European, but God knows you are one of my musical heroes. God bless you and your family. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Great lesson bro.I understand the principles.Back to practice.I really would ask you to do a lesson on rootless voicings .That is the technique most of the younger players are using now.thanks bro.keep up your good work.
I have an in-depth course on rootless voicing coming out in a few weeks. This course will be available over in my membership at pianolessonwithwarren.com
24:52 Warren i think another way to see the superlocrian Is with the Melodic minor not the harmonic minor of the Key semitone away. You played the harmonic minor which fits correctly with the dimished scale but i guess you wanted to say the melodic minor instead of the harmonic minor (you can cross check It again:) ) as always good lesson
Hey Bro. Warren, great lesson. I'm currently not playing keyboard in a Black church, but I do perform Specials before Service starts. Your lesson is worth learning to become more skillful playing Black Gospel music. I really like the sound of that C Major 13 Chord you used. Makes me want to have a Fried Chicken Dinner this coming Sunday. Suppose snow a lot this weekend. Thank you for that Black History story. I grew up listening to Mahalia Jackson, The Dixie Hummingbirds, The Soulstirs and The Mighty Clouds of Joy. I still listen to them on Pandora. Are you familiar with James Cleveland? Thank you Warren for your tutorials they are very, very helpful. Blessings, Cynthia
Beautiful playing and such great teaching style, glad I found your channel - thanks Warren for these videos. I'm classically trained, but I can now spice up my accompaniment style with your help at my local church. I'm glad I practised my minor scales as a kid and can swing those super locrians!! :D
Hi Warren, You've got it all! But is there any way you could do what you do in slow motion? Or have a way to pause but still be able to see your notations with it?
Thanks Warren for the wonderful lesson. What made you choose to play the harmonic minor scale over the diminished chord instead a regular diminished scale?
Hi Warren, thanks for the great video, much to learn here :) One thing though, isn't the superlocrian scale the 7th mode of the melodic minor (instead of harmonic minor as you mentioned here). Thanks again and I hope there will be a good outcome this pregnancy for you and your wife!
So sir Warren greetinge, I want to understand how u hold a major chord where a minor suppose to be, eg. U were showing us how to reach to the 2 then 5, but I saw where u hold a major 3 extended chord then go to a major 2 extended chord then 5 ...(the part where u were telling us about the dominant 7 chromatic passing...
The history lesson is needed, but you touch on something very important. The music has to move you and that's something all the books can't teach.
Love you that much. Such a knowledgeable teacher. Always learn music theory from you. Keep it up. Oh congratulations to you and your wife. I pray for safe arrival of the baby. Greetings from Scotland.
Awe thank very much for the kind words 😊👍🏽🙏🏾

The electric slide slip up was humorous, good humor.
Hi Warren, You've got it all! But is there any way you could do what you do in slow motion? Or have a way to pause but still be able to see your notations with it?
TH-cam videos can be slowed down right from the settings on the video.
Thanks Warren for the wonderful lesson. What made you choose to play the harmonic minor scale over the diminished chord instead a regular diminished scale?
I don’t find the diminished scale very melodic, and gets a little way out into jazz territory.
Gob bless you
i love this lesson
