You are truly amazing and explain everything so simply. After trawling you tube since I purchased my piano Keyboard last week I have finally found you and I get it. Thankyou so much for giving your time to do what you do. Xx
Thank you for this! Its hard to find more advanced chord progression & pattern tutorials without the tutorial person either speaking to a complete beginner, or using terminology that only a pro-jazz player expects to have. I've grown up playing classical music, graduated with a piano performance degree, but can't play pop for the life of me. Whenever I search up tutorials, I either get tutorials that are way too beginner-friendly, or the TH-camr is using way too difficult terms. You keep it simple, but fast and right to the point!
13:22 this is like the “Big Bang” for me, now I realize how it all makes sense. Play the keyboard with a background beat after you arrange all the chords. So much more fun like this, Thank you !
I am going through all the PDF e books you send at a nice slow pace,, thank you for letting me continue at my slow pace, there is no pushing that other TH-cam teachers seem to do,
Thanks Adam, very helpful to me. Quick note, as a drummer, I have to point out that I believe you are actually swinging the rhythm, the "and" is actually held slightly, possibly between straight and dotted.
Thanks Adam it’s great that you’re teaching piano rhythm. It’s the hardest thing to find on TH-cam, and you do it so well. It would be great to hear how you would apply these to create a full arrangement for a song.
Yes, big +1 for @hongkongtennis's comment. I love these tutorials where you teach a technique to apply to a four-chord loop. But I'd really love to see this placed into the larger context of playing a complete song!
Thanks Adam another great video lesson. Struggling a bit with F chord over G ( love the sound though) my brain is telling me to play F in the bass. Is there any videos/exercises help change my mind set.
Hi Adam Alfred here thanks for your video best one yet, I am going away for a month in 3 weeks time I will be concentrating on them as much as I can till then.
Thanks a million. Love this way of 'fast tracking' to real music. One request though (as a relative novice), could you take a moment to explain fingering as you go and also mark middle C either on the physical or virtual keyboard. I know it's really basic stuff, but I often struggle with these inverted sevenths to know where to move to. Thanks. Brilliant coaching. Mike of France.
Another great lesson! Thanks for all your excellent tips and tricks! I'm a long time guitarist transitioning to piano and its a challenge to get the same rhythms. This will help significantly!
Thanks Adam for this tutorial on different rythm patterns! I usually see and listen videos on rythms , but they're quite difficult for my beginner level, and I struggle to coordinate both hands - 'cause there is too much happening on BOTH hands at the same time - but I already see and listen these patterns and I like how they sound!! I'll work on them to accompany ballad type of songs.

Another great tutorial, Adam. Was hoping you would tell us which beat to play for all the patterns like you did for the first pattern (“…the AND of the second beat.”)
One thing i would hope for from you is a beginner to intermediate course in the future, what you do is awesome but a complete course i would pay for from you sir
Oh, thank GOD! At first, when you said "youre going to split your right hand into two parts," I was picturing like with a meat cleaver or something. I was thinking, Im not sure if I really want this bad enough. What a relief!
Its crazy that you have to do silly YT thumbnails like this to do well in the YT algorithm. Great vid as always, i might start doing these properly and write them in a book.
What are some good places to find backing tracks? I am working on learning. Let's video recording so I can create my own, but for now, what are some good ones or a good place to get some to practice with
Hi Eric - I tend to make my own, all these videos on the channel do come with backing tracks, so perhaps start there. Will have a think though where else you can get them.
Maybe I’m confused (it’s not uncommon), but wasn’t that progression just C, C/A, F/D, and F/G? And in pattern 5, I like playing an additional note, generally the lowest note, just before the arpeggio to give it an extra eighth note.
It is exactly that yes - however often people call it Am7 rather than C/A. I think you might find this video useful - this is how I think of 7th chords: th-cam.com/video/6nZ1Jw7eJT8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=dFnbLOfOiXFauAaq
@@thekeyscoach excellent video. It was helpful, though for simplicity I will continu to notate these as slash cords (though I now see how many of the slash cords I use are of the seventh variety).
He needs to NAME EACH keynote or chords by LETTERS 🔤🔠🔠🔤🔠 when playing cause beginners are new at it ! Not a bad teacher tho.. he picks POP songs and extras to share ! Nice ! Good! Counting is important too!! He does NOT rush the lessons and repeats steps! Good!!
Wonderful. Exactly what I was looking for. 70 years old and just starting keyboards. I can do finger picking though, so that should help a lot.
So great to hear that Carl. Let me know how you get on!
This is inspiring and gentle to know what happens behind scenes when keyboard players play so quickly. Now I shall appreciate more. Good video🙂👏!
Glad it was helpful!

Great video Adam 🎉 - 'Hello' by Adele is a great example of the push rhythm :)
Totally!

Glad to contribute. A small donation is the least I can do to show my appreciation for the excellent resources you provide.
Much appreciated! Lots more coming soon!
This is one of the most amazing videos I have seen for a long time . Thank you Adam and this is well within my capabilities love it

Love this one... adding the to my Adam's toolkit, notebook I'm keeping. I'm helping a friend learn too and these are so helpful.
Thanks Tim! Let me know how you get on with it!
Thanks for this video. Ive learned a lot
Pattern 4 reminded me of one of your other videos, on Elton John’s “Your song.” Thank you so much for your lessons!
Yes you’re right! Thanks!

Love this. Really useful. But I have a question: How do you know which pattern to use for a particular song?
Thanks! I guess that's the fun of it - it's up to you!

Good spot!
Hungry Heart by Bruce Springsteen
Long December- Counting Crows
I hear let it be
Hi Adam, it reminds me 'Everybody's got a hungry heart by Bruce Springsteen', does not it ?
It does!
I heard a familiar tune in here and only later realized that it was the Eagles’ Best of My Love.
Up on the Roof by Carol King.
Slow this down and I can hear “The Lunatics are on the grass ( DarkSide Of The Moon )
Hungry Heart
Can you do these exercises, but in time signature of 3/4 and 6/8...please, please?
Please provide the backing track sir
