Actually, it does matter which organic items you use. You made the effort to buy sturdy bones, and this is correct. There are only 3 items that you can buy that give the most max experience multiplier for the lowest cost in gil. The mechanical items also matter too - the Superconductor and Ultracompact Reactor are the two best items to use for experience. The first is better for upgrades that have a small amount of experience to reach max level while the second is better for ultimate and omega weapons. The ultracompact reactor gives .8 experience per 1 gil, which is leaps and bounds better than any other item.
thank you very much for this!! I wasted too much money in the earlier chapters upgrading weapons I didn't need and I've been suffering for it, so I'm hoping I can follow this now. :3
Lightning is the single best character in the game, the only reason not to use her in any lineup is aesthetics or a particular off the wall strategy. If you focus on one person its her. I preferred the gladius because it was cheap and favoured strength over magic. If you use vanille focus on belladonna wand. It improves all her saboteur spells drastically. I use sazh and gave him spica defenders which extends syn buffs he casts but people make strong arguments for procyons and antares. Snow is on the bench forever, i hate his fighting style and I find his character insufferable so I never bothered. I chose fang's dragoon lance because I needed for as a commando. But theres also decent argument for pandoran spear. Hope's best bet is either vidolfnir for the syn extension. Hawkeye is fine too because it has lots of magic but dont bother with anything that boosts his strength unlessbyoure going for a niche strategy. Save your catalysts because youll need them.
@TheKnight11563 you have to max it out in each tier after you transform it each weapon has 3 tiers so they transform twice, youre gonna have to do some grinding to get the things need and gil to make it happen, hope this helps
When should you start upgrading your weapons? I am in the forest observatory with Snow and Lightning and I have a ton of items but I am not sure when I should begin upgrading. I don't want to waste anything.
@MrDelta01 If you are far enough into the game to use paradigms, your side characters are set on ravanger, to attack with weapons, that's usually the commando role.
The 36 rule doesn't work for me. Is it because instead of buying them (organic materials) from the shop I used the ones that I had collected while slaying enemies?
@DarkKakarot315 um,which weapon would u say would b the strongest 1st tier weapons for vanille, fang, and lightning to make them the strongest they can get when they get maxed out 2 tier 3???
That's great and all, but how do i actually TRANSFORM my weapons? I just got Gladies up to it's star and i'm tired of the fukin wyvern enemies kicking my ass so yeah i know it has something to do with the mineral stuff but what do i do then?????
Thank you so much for providing this information! I was having a lot of trouble with this, and never knew that things like my credit chips and incentive chips were to be SOLD. I do have questions though: Is 36 the right number to use for EVERY organic item? Why 36? And does experience roll over once equipment levels up? Is the top level for each item 100 (at which point it's "mastered" and can transform into another item later)? Feel free to send a private note if explanation is too long!
question (maybe a dumb question) now if i want to upgrade a different weapon that may be stronger than the weapon the character is currently wielding, can i dismantle the weapon (the wielder carries) to "try" to get back the items I used on it to upgrade, or will i just lose the weapon completely?
im pretty early in the game and i wanted to know if it is a good idea to just keep leveling up a single weapon untill you max it out. Or should i be leveling up the new weapons i find.
Yeah, awesome. I'm on Chapter and haven't squat until I watched this video. I was too afraid to messed up. What are the weapon for each character to upgrade? For Lightning, I like the Axis Blade... Anyone using that?
But if you could use any mechanical items, why did you choose ti buy the ultra compact reactors, they're really expensive. Why not cheaper mechanical items?
Ey, i am really confused, i just started disc 2 you know, but can i upgrade?? all my weapons are still lvl 1, so yeah, could you tell me what I exactly need? thx :D
@DarkKakarot315 hey sorry for late response, I forgot to play this game for awhile due to new games. Anyway, atm at the save before barthandelus and i'm using Lightning, Hope and Fang. right now they're on: Light(ravager), hope(synergist) and Fang(commando) mainly to start against the boss. Trying to grind to get more incentive chips and credit chips to sell, so I can upgrade my weapons easier. Dunno when i'll be able to get those components again. :(
Thanks man! I'm only halfway in chapter 6 and can't wait to upgrade my weapons... This game isn't like FF7, where you get a new weapon thats stronger in every new area. Sucks.
I tried this to get Omega weapons: 40 sturdy bones to get 3x exp then around 15 Ultracompact Reactors in one go so I can get the finished lvl99 weapon. I have around 3mill gil so it's not that expensive.
I stopped playing the game three years ago because I couldn't get pass Chapter 11. Maybe I ran away from too many fights because it took me like 4 or 5 days to beat Barthandelus. Lol now I'm starting over

Few question: what level is the maximum for a weapon and what transmuting mean?
Also, any good tips for weapon upgrading grinding in act 9?
The Hauteclaire can be found in Mah'habara, just after you enter Gran Pulse. It's in the first sphere you encounter.
I'm at the same part you;re at in the video but I don't have the R&D Depot.
Very good guide !
Gratz, I loved it !
Thx bro
whre did u get ur kains lance? and please may i know, what weapon you use and upgrade before the kains lance?
PS thanks for the guide!!

How about early in the game before the store unlocks? Sturdy bone for x3, then perfect conductors?
thx, this is big help for preparing before last boss, it's sad to think of all the money i've lost so far though :( LOL
@infenit101 do you mean the gapra white wood?
The 36 rule doesn't work for me. Is it because instead of buying them (organic materials) from the shop I used the ones that I had collected while slaying enemies?

Nice guide. Two thumbs up to you sir.
@SweetHina you lose the weapon it self but you gain extra parts (ex. dismantle kain's lance to receive 3 trapozahedrons and some more stuff)
thanks for your cudei but once I´ve herad that you may get new itens using a certain method by upgrade or selling them
any help?

is it better to use particle accelerators or ultracompact reactors? are the reactors worth 5 times the amount of exp like it is for money?
@DarkKakarot315
is there an inheritence trick to this game? if you load a finished game can u "inherit" ur items, compunds, money, etc.?
hey darkKakarot315, do you know what to do with an item that talk about some transformational crystalyst?
@DarkKakarot315 ok, maybe i culd start upgrading the bladed lance now, where can i find the taming pole?
Is it best to keep all weapons obtained throughout the story? I sold some of mine in order to get some money.
at what part of the game do you get Trapezohedron? i just beat dahaka and still i dont have any??? who is the best to upgrade first?
@DarkKakarot315 lightning has all the elemental strikes and the ra ranks as well as thundaga. Fang becomes a realy good ravager as well
im pretty early in the game and i wanted to know if it is a good idea to just keep leveling up a single weapon untill you max it out. Or should i be leveling up the new weapons i find.
@TheUnimon2
ok thx, i'll try to find a guide on which weapon has which parts when its dismantled (n.n)
thanks.. this is cool for me upgrading weapon fast to tier 3 lvl 100 weapon.. ty very much
Yeah, awesome. I'm on Chapter and haven't squat until I watched this video. I was too afraid to messed up. What are the weapon for each character to upgrade? For Lightning, I like the Axis Blade... Anyone using that?

@waxbf what kind of question was that?
But if you could use any mechanical items, why did you choose ti buy the ultra compact reactors, they're really expensive. Why not cheaper mechanical items?
Where did you get gilgamaesh inc?

I have a question, anyone know how to use attacks with weapions? I just got the game and all my side characters use magic attacks.
THIIIIS FREAKN HELPED. THANKYOU SO MUCH :DD
Is it worth it to at least upgrade the default weapons until you get the one that you really want? And then spend a lot upgrading the best one?
Hello, I want to ask, in which chapter that I should start upgrading my weapons ? Now I'm in Chapter 8, with Sazh and Vanille at Nautilus ~

Dunno when i'll be able to get those components again. :(

If you can use any item, why do they have more expensive ones?
what this (Ultracompact reactor) do ?
that one u bought for 50.000 GIL
I put in 36 Wicked Fang and only got 2.5x btw.
I know that Sturdy Bones are a safe bet, but warning not all will give you 3x multiplier right at 36

How do you get r&d depot

@DarkKakarot315 cuz im havin a lot of trouble with upgrades, money, and balancing crystariums
Thanks man! I'm only halfway in chapter 6 and can't wait to upgrade my weapons... This game isn't like FF7, where you get a new weapon thats stronger in every new area. Sucks.
I don't have the gilgamesh.inc... Why?
But at which point of the game can be used this strategy? What I see here is almost at the end of the game.

I tried this to get Omega weapons: 40 sturdy bones to get 3x exp then around 15 Ultracompact Reactors in one go so I can get the finished lvl99 weapon. I have around 3mill gil so it's not that expensive.
Thank you friend.
I stopped playing the game three years ago because I couldn't get pass Chapter 11. Maybe I ran away from too many fights because it took me like 4 or 5 days to beat Barthandelus. Lol now I'm starting over
