Fasting is also powerful for manifesting. Fasting is one of several "existential manifesting techniques". Gasping for air, starving for food, procreation and fight or flight are others. The universe is always there to help you survive when you need help the most. But you can request the type of help it supplies. As crazy and bizarre as it seems, holding your breath until you get what you want really does have the potential to manifest your intention. Fasting with an unwavering visualization of a desired state can as well, for instance if you have a health problem and are fasting, the intensity and urgency of your starvation might stir the universe to find a way for you to get food and survive. However, if instead while you are hungry as heck you visualize being 100% healthy while you are feeling intense need for food the universe instead gifts you good health to ensure your survival.

He also does oil pulling, and drinks aloe vera mixture he prepares with garlic and lemon. I'm also 45, been fasting 16-24 hours for 8 years now. I'm never sick and I look younger than everybody my age.
IF won't do much to cure depression in my experience, but it has an amazing effect on healing your body. If you can do 24 hour fasting that's great.
But don't forget the electrolytes. If you get cramps take pinch of sea salt and chug some water.
To cure depression I suggest micro dosing on magic mushrooms. A week or two and the depression is gone. Plus it promotes brain plasticity so you will get smarter as well. It actually works, without any side effects. What the doctor gives you don't work or is close to placebo and it has horrible side effects. I've tried them all.
Do these two things and you will feel like 20 again.
It would be interesting to hear about your results, keep me updated. If you have any questions I'll be happy to answer them.
      Good luck stranger! :)
EDIT: I almost forgot, if you're not already doing it, you need to take vitamin D3 (5000 IU), Omega3, amino acids and a high quality multi vitamin every day. And I suggest switching to sea salt instead of regular rock salt to get all the minerals you need. Now you are all set!

I’m 57, going through menopause, morbidly obese going through a lot of stress in my personal life and fasting is saving my life!! I have been doing a 36-40 hour test a week and it has really bolstered my confidence that I can do hard things. I’ve been doing IF for the past 6 weeks or so and have lost about 15 lbs, have seen some positive changes in my skin, my sleep, and my whole relationship with food.
A surprising side effect during the 36-40 hour fast is that when I go to bed slightly uncomfortable from not eating for so long, slightly hungry, it has made me more aware of what it feels like for those people who go to sleep hungry because they have no food. It’s made me aware and I’m motivated to help those in need. That’s not something I was expecting. It’s humbling to realize that most of us don’t have any idea what real hunger feels like.

This is so true. I went back to my mother's remote village in Papua New Guinea. Every morning, food wasn't just there. They wouldn't even eat fruits readily available first thing in the morning. Instead the activity was fishing- be it on a canoe or from a large bamboo surf rod. It took time. So from a natural wake up at about 5.15am - 10-20 mins to sunrise - we wouldnt eat until about 9am. You eat if you want to eat, and eat until satiated. Then rest or do things in the village, until we need to fish again or go to the gardens which weren't in the village. Even for water you'd have to walk to retrieve it from an underground cave. After 4 days of my 14 day trip, my body had adjusted, no pain, no brain fog. It was incredible.

Hi Anna Maria my name is Agnes Teresa Maria nad my daughters name Anna that's why it took my attention to read your message. I am also from Eastern Europe. I ah e learned about my period in the most horrific way when I was a teen, got up at night to pee and screamed bloody murder in the middle of night , I thought I'm dying that's it's end of me. My Grandparents , my aunt with baby and uncle , my Mom bursted into the bathroom and all started to laugh. I was told I am a woman now. That's how my womanhood issues started, shame. I educated my children the minute their puberty started about period and not to mention I project my menstruation fear on them. It was not celebrating being a woman it was a curse. My whole life to the point my uterus was removed. That's how your mind works!!!! My children already knew about menstruation, sex from internet and school. There is a lock of proper education I think and too much tabu and politics and we women suffer! Men- o- pause ? I had no idea what it is until I and my baby and my body went into menopause at age 33!!!! I am 51 and still going!! Because there is pre, menopause, and post. Fasting, vegan diet, hydration, yoga helped me so much with symptoms. The sooner you start changing your diet and cutting crap food, coke, Pepsi, chips , and stresssssssssssss eliminate as much as you could. And I eat when I'm hungry , sometimes I don't eat at all. And I'm ok. And do I over eat? I can't.

8:00 We use energy when we eat (sugar-burning system that produces glucose), and we use energy when we don't eat (fat-burning system that produces ketone). Brain needs 50% ketone that enhances it.
    9:40 It takes at least:
    - 8 hrs of fasting to switch in that metabolic state,
    - 12 hrs to bring mental clarity and turns off the hunger hormone,
    - 15 hrs to growth hormone to go up - this keeps us young, helps burn fat, increase testosterone by 13%, reduce inflammation,
    - 17 hrs to recover injury, remove bad cells, cells repair themselves, prevent bacteria passage, hypothalamus repair themselves and helps reduce PCOS - autophagy,
    - 36 hrs to boost belly fat burn
12:13 Breakfast is the most important meal of in a day. Sugar intake has great effect to body the rest of the day.
18:50 Take protein after the fasting to increase muscle growth
    20:00 1st type (14/10) - 14hrs without food, 10 hours with food
    21:20 2nd type (Autophagy) - 17 hrs without food
36:55 3rd (gut) - 24 hrs without food (stem cells reboot themselves)
38:30 4th (fat-burner fast) - belly-fat burner, removing unnecessary body weight to survive.
39:50 5th (dopamine) - produce more dopamine and satisfies our hunger with we eat food.
49:15 - coffee with sugar breaks fasting
1:00:00 - stress, great effects to health. In spain, 3d work-leave at start of period to reduce stress (should be 3d before).
1:08:00 - 15min for men to refill and increase testosterone. Women are more outgoing prior ovulation. Day 2 to Day 12 of cycle to talk best with women. Day 12 to Day 15 - libido is highest.
    1:20:00 - menopause at 40-45, understand women
1:39:00 - women best to take magnesium, while men best to take zinc for testosterone; both need vitamin D
    1:40:00 - detox pathways (armpit/ pubic areas)
1:53:20 - with extra cardio, calories go up, cortisol level goes up, progesterone (keeps estrogen in check) goes down, estrogen goes up because not in check, estrogen can be stored as fat.

@@carolinerobertson2091Try to eat more protein first, then green vegetables and fiber. For example, some fish or chicken with a green salad with only lime and salt. Also, you can eat black beans or kidney red beans for your fiber portion. You can use another fiber resource you like; remember, they are an excellent source of carbohydrates, too. Most importantly, remove sugar from your drinks and food and change white flour products. I lost 14 lbs in one month and then 6 lbs in the second month. I started fasting on 18/6, and now I have changed to 20/4. It isn't easy, but I never felt so well.

My 65-year-old mom started intermitting fasting last year and lost 20kg in the first 12 months. Before that, she was overweight for years (decades). She is looking and feeling younger than she was 5 years ago. But the most important thing of all the benefits she's seen is probably self-confidence because she proved to herself that she can do something so significant. I'm so Proud of her. Hopefully, her story can inspire others to try it out and see if it works for them. It's fascinating to see her grow older in age, but getting younger with her physique.

Don't do fad diets .eat real foods, but give your self grace on the days you have the cake..and DON'T eat it and assign negative thoughts to it. Enjoy it.
Notice all the flavors in processed foods and I bet you can find a flavor in there that you don't like. Processed foods abuse our dopamine receptors 😂 and we loose.

I’m 67 now and honestly when I look back at that time of perimenopause I feel like I went thru the war for 15-17 years. The sweats, hair loss, loss of libido, the belly fat, brain fog and terrible depression. I had no help, I didn’t do anything for myself, any estrogen offered gave me terrible cramps. I’m making it a point now to learn and treat myself better.

I started perimenopause at 43 and now at 54 still going through symptoms. Use black cohosh for hot flashes. I am on carnivore diet and I do intermittent fasting and I have noticed hot flashes are less frequent. Frankly, menopause royally sucks and the belly bloat and brain fog are maddening. I won't do hormone replacement because I don't want to increase risk of breast cancer. I do feel that getting rid of sugar, refined sugars, carbs, and seeded oils (canola, cottonseed etc.), have really helped with symptoms.

@xylay3540my situation is a little different I was dropped into instant menopause at 40 after a total hysterectomy to remove endometriosis. Once in my 5 year journey I went off the meds for a week. It was then I absolutely marveled that any woman could/ would go thru this without HRT 🤯
I was always going to take hrt as being in full blown MP at just 40 is very undesirable. I know it may sound lame but I was tremendously concerned with accelerated aging. Not just on my face but in my body, brain fog, aching joints, weight gain… I have certainly experienced these but not on the level of my 2 friends who cannot take HRT bc their endo was unable to be completely removed. My point of writing this is to say please do not needlessly suffer. Research & advances have been made since our mothers took hrt. Should you find yourself losing your hair, sex drive, dry skin, night sweats, excessive anger & mood swings to name a few- give hrt a try for a couple of months. For me that little blue pill is so vital to my well being that the benefits far outweigh the potential consequences.

Today is 5.24.24. I have no idea HOW I came upon this podcast but I am SO GLAD THAT I DID.
I started to cry when she began to talk about menopause and women being unable to hold onto information like we used to. I have said this in my life to my husband, my siblings, my mentor at work and my boss. I mostly get the side eye or the empathetic nod like they are TRYING to understand but just don’t. To have this confirmed as an actual symptom of a loss of estrogen brings me such relief. Now I KNOW that I’m not crazy and I’m not making this stuff up. And what she said about the ability to handle stress now is definitely on point. I’m in my mind 50’s and have been in menopause for a full year…takes at least 3yrs of no cycle before they consider you in full menopause. It has been one HECK of a ride.

I've paid out so much money on diets but Dr Mindy'advice helped me not only save money but I've lost 2stone in weight in just 8 weeks without masses of physical activity. At 70 years old I have more energy, my joints don't ache like before, and I don't have an addiction to sugar any longer and I look so much better! I can't thank her enough!

The other emotional 'how' is getting to a point when you are so sick of eating Gaviscon like sweets and the weight affecting all that you do, like it was for me. I just reached a point when I said "No more"! I then started the next day cutting out all sugars and refined foods. I don't regret a day since and can allow a biscuit or a piece of cake into my daily plan, occasionally. It's no longer a 'need to have' sugar or carbs! Hope that helps.

This lady is absolutely spot on. I suffered sepsis last year and it took me a long time to recover physically and for many months I still felt weak and shakey. I was very overweight (110kg) and had been for most of my adult life. Back in November I read a brief article on intermittent fasting and thought sod it, give it a go! I'm now 87 kg so still have a way to go but feel so much better in myself. I have breakfast and lunch no later than 1pm and then nothing but water after that. The only thing I've cut out of my diet is processed foods, I make my own bread and biscuits. I eat cheese, real butter red meat and pretty much everything else as long as it's home made. I can now exercise which I wasn't able to face before. Anyone reading this who's having doubts, just give yourself a month and stick to it strictly. If it works out for you and you start seeing the weight go down it becomes a lot less difficult, you'll find yourself doing it gladly. You'll soon realise that what you thought was hunger is actually just cravings but you'll feel so proud in yourself with each day that you stuck to it :)

There are several parts of this that brought me to tears. My mother passed away from an accidental overdose at 48 years old. Two years prior she had a some sort of switch and she completely changed from the person I knew my whole life. The explanation of women during menopause has given me a new level of understanding to what may have been going on for her in the last few years of her life.
I’ve also struggled with my weight my entire life. I feel very defeated with my appearance most days and it prevents me from having any motivation to keep going when it comes to health. Knowing that my body isn’t working against me but rather working for me to survive and place fat outside rather than internally has just shifted the way I think of my body and myself.

45:00 I had a garden injury during Covid and struggled to get an appointment. It affected my groin area and also found I was limping from time-to-time when my leg would give out from under me. I thought perhaps it was a hairline fracture. The pain came on when I was double-digging and hit a huge rock with my spade. The pain lasted weeks. I tried everything in my holistic toolbox and the pain continued. Armed with the knowledge of cell repair I then decided to do a water fast, and after that, the pain was gone, never to return again.
Did you know that when you fall ill and find that you're not feeling hungry, it's actually your body's clever way of starting to mend itself? Here's how it works in simple terms.
Normally, your body uses a lot of energy to digest food. When you're sick, your body decides to use that energy for healing instead of digestion. So, it reduces your appetite to shift the focus.
If you have an infection, eating less can sometimes help your body fight it off better. Certain germs thrive on the sugar and iron in our food, so by eating less, you're cutting off their supply.
Think of it like closing a busy road to fix it properly. When you're not eating much, your body gets a chance to repair itself without the extra work of digesting food as your body refocuses' its energy for repair. What a wonderful healing machine we have!

One more comment - I never ever felt better than the 9 months I was pregnant (at age 44). I woke up at 6am, bright, happy, energetic, very zen.. worked out like crazy.. and this is in contrast to being my normal (autistic) self - low energy, mildly frustrated all the time, extremely low testosterone, sore joints, back pain.. all that melted away when I was pregnant. Now at age 55, I'm fasting for the first time and it's FINALLY helped to bring me back to that balance I felt when I was pregnant. I know, weird! Thanks Dr Mindy!

I am in perimenopause and starting intermittent fasting when my mothers memory went and dementia took hold. I was fasting all wrong (for a girl) and although i was seeing some benefits, I wasn’t feeling that much better. Once I found Mindys You tube channel, that all changed. I am about to complete my 2nd round on the 30 day reset fast and its a game changer. I was afraid I’d put back the weight suddenly eating more after months of 20 hour fasts. The opposite happened. My sleep improved, my mood improved. The night sweats have reduced in severity. I dont weigh myself but i have lost belly fat, which has been next to near impossible for me in the past. It’s not hard to do, and I am razor sharp and focused while I’m fasting. The hunger is just a wave that leaves within a few minutes. I recommend getting to know your hormones and following Mindys channel. And if called, get her book, but really she offers so much on line that you could do with the videos only if you’re strapped for cash like many of us are these days.

I started intermittent fasting in January this year and was only doing 12 hours. I then met a friend who told me the benefits only start every hour after 12, so then I increased to 14. I'm now doing 16 to 17. On Friday I did 18 hours and realised I could easily do 24. All it is, are the little mental hurdles. My next goal is to do 72 hours, but I'll work up to that I think.

Octavia, just change your diet drastically 10 days before period eat like a Japanese lady: miso soup, green tea, fish, sea food - scallops, octopus, sea cucumber ect. and lots of green leafy vegetables in a bone broth and you'll see stable mood, happy disposition, great digestion with no bloating, unremarkable periods, and no more cramp. The worst you can do is to keep eating wheat, corn, soy and other processed grains which are also main feed for commercial livestock - highly proinflammatory!

Your body can totally handle it. Let it do what God designed it to do. Just remember to take either Himalayan or Celtic sea salt (1t) once a day works for me. 2t may be needed. If water fasting beyond 48hours advisable to consult a physician. Let her know your goal(s), as there can be many that water fasting addresses. Then as you work your way to the 72 hour mark just smile if you get hunger pains. They will subside and you will feel your body going into autophagy. Bless Dr Mindy. I've followed her for years and because of her I prevented a spinal fusion. I do a 72-hr water fast about twice a year. 1st time I was due for a 3rd low back surgery (fusion) and at the 72 hour mark of my water fast the skeletal/muscular stem cells produced to such a degree that the stabbing pain due to my herniation at L5-S1 that I had for over 10 years was 100% gone. No surgery. No injections. Just extended water fasting with sufficient electrolytes (super important). That was a little over 3 years ago. Pain still gone and I just came off 7th 72 hr water fast last week. I'm just shy of 60-years-old.

Great info! I've been working on reducing severe blood clotting issues. I knew the problem and its solution was internal when I first noticed my leg swelling and immediately learned of 3 enzymes and diet changes, so started that asap.
It's been 7 months my way vs GP & Vasc Drs & $$$ pills that did nothing good. I still have a slightly swollen ankle, still working on it, but no leg distress. I could improve more, I do like some alcohol, I'm a munch, need to walk the dogs more - no 64yr old Angel here.
Now I've watched this - I'd be gobsmacked if a 72 hr fast would reset it all. This Dr Mindy certainly clarified why & how fasting works, couldn't get more 'root cause' than a base cellular 'reset'. HMMMM No clotting, less achy pains, energy, clarity .....
You do this twice a year??? I could do that! Great idea, Thank you!

Now. Start while the idea is fresh in your mind. Take PTO a week, I personally drive to city far from my own. Don't touch social media. And just start drinking water. Go as long as your body can handle. I fasted 4 days, I had no energy, I just drank water and slept. At one point my body started puking out all the water I drank but get this, it WAS NOT CLEAR. On day 4 my body was getting rid of toxins in the only way it could. In addition, sweat! I would turn the shower on super hot, let the bathroom transform into a sauna and let the toxins come out through your skin(in a hotel, i would not do this in my own home). When you reach the point where you KNOW you can't keep going, ease the food back in. Just like she said, introduce healthy small portions of food. Then just don't stop this new habit and intermediate fast daily. Do these long fasts when you either find yourself turning to back to the bad habits. I'm not a doctor so this is just my experience but it works for me!

This conversation really helped me to not be so hard on myself and to see both a woman and a man have this convo feels so healthy and healing … Especially when she explained how that dad sought out help to understand his daughter. I’m really reprogramming my mind and I’m so grateful!

I find it really helpful to use a cycle tracker that also tracks mood. I go severely depressed in-between ovulation and my period because my cycle is long I didn't really realise how it linked and realised it is likely PMDD. Shocking we don't get properly educated with this and I'm 37 and still learning how my body works

Thank you sooo much for this amazing interview.. I’m a 51 year old women and the menopause for me has been soul distorting and I’m trying to educate my daughters because no one ever talked about it when I was younger and I feel like that is such a shame, how are we supposed to know, I feel like I’ve stumbled into a storm a can’t see the end of.. I didn’t know it had began and ended up having an emotional breakdown and I’m surprised I’m still here. Sometimes I can’t talk in a coherent manner and my memory is so unpredictable that I’ve lost confidence in every way.. I’m so impressed with everything you have said and I’ll be watching this interview several times and definitely buy your book.. everyone really needs to see this and I will most certainly be sharing this video to educate others and help them deal with life especially in this day and age… ❤

I cried watching this interview. I’m 37 and feeling like I can’t handle stress like I used to.
And now I know why. I feel like I’ve had so many epiphanies about myself and my own body work: THANK YOU!

She should create an app based on the cycles and hormone guides with suggested fasting and food to eat.. I would definitely pay an app like this 😅

I made my own, on paper LOL just do some research as to when your hormones come in waves and what it means and what to do in each quadrant. Doesn't take long and I'm finding it extremely useful.

This for me is one of the strongest episodes I've watched. I'm deeply moved because as a woman going through the menopause and one who is overcoming self image, what was shared here is exactly what I needed to hear today. Thank you ❤

I have suffered from eating disorders almost all my adult life. I’ve been through mental health issues, loss of my period for 3 years a few years ago and no doctor was able to help me understand why and currently discovered I have pcos. Our bodies are soooooo complex! I loved this episode, how smoothly she was explaining everything in such a way that made me smile and get some hope!
Thanks so much for it ❤

My sister also has Borderline Personality Disorder and it largely drove her eating disorders from her teen years forward (into her 50s).
She was misdiagnosed as having bipolar disorder (because psychologists largely have no education on recognizing and diagnosing Cluster B disorders, much less how to treat them), and getting an accurate diagnosis helped her get the combination of therapy she needed to give her the tools to identify and coping strategies to deal with the thinking patterns that largely drove her eating disorder.
Wishing you well as you work to move past the thought patterns that drive the disorder.

After one year of following Minty’s advice, I am noticing massive changes in my cycle
My period always stopped me and now I actually get energy with it
But the week before I really do pamper myself with feasting and relaxing .
I was always really good at fasting. It was the feasting I needed to learn about.
I always dreaded my mood swings of the week before. Suicidal thoughts preceded my period, but now I really look forward to that week. I love having so much more control in my life.
The biggest thing I learned from Mindy - the importance of self-care progesterone week.

Dr Mindy has changed my life! She was on a Mel Robbins podcast and I then went looking for her. I can listen to her all day, every day. I have her book Fast Like A Girl and now follow a fasting lifestyle, and will never look back - it works for me. It's all backed by science and I love the way she explains it in a way that everyone can understand. Such a great episode. She's amazing!
