This movie sounds so bad that I’m starting to lose a bit of faith in MADEA: INFINITY WAR next summer. Rumor has it Taraji P Henson’s character in this movie is gonna end up being the lead villain, and she’s gonna turn out to be the sister of Good Deeds (whose character is once again played by Tyler Perry). I mean, the Perry-verse has the right to release a bad movie now and then, but this is a particularly embarrassing blunder for Perry Studios.

This review made me see this movie!! "I said over easy..." I fell out!!! IMO, Taraji's character had a mega nervous breakdown and became delusional once he finally left her and tried to show her appreciation by giving her the check and deed back to her mother's house. By that point, in the red room, she was drinking at this point and stalking and obsessing over him and the woman that was the person he cheated on her with. The psychologist mentioned split personality disorder for one second and that's when she stormed out of the office. She was already far gone, mentally, and that's why the end was bat shhh crazy.
He didn't leave her, she kicked him out right when he got the opportunity he had worked all those years for.
Tyler Perry Movies makes African Nollywood movies look like Christopher Nolan movies lol. How does such a terrible writer get to make so many movies. I swear Hollywood green light all Tyler Perry movies so they can say how bad black filmmakers are.

The ending to this sounds insanely bad. Now I want to watch this, preferably in theaters. Which is something I thought I'd never, EVER say about a Tyler Perry film. Also, I like Carlos, but he needs to calm his ass down. Running around the studio, screaming and shit during the show is too much. The movie "For colored girls" was my introduction to how dark Perry could get!! Like what happened to those babies!!! After that movie, everything afterwards had less shock value.

I actually was entertained by Acrimony. Jealousy will drive people to insane acts. She didn't just want the money, she wanted the life and the status he promised her for her sacrifice. But after she finally gave up on him and moved on, he did as well. He still did what we all have to agree was right by her because after the divorce he did not have to give her a dime let alone 10 Million dollars.

I recorded this movie last night and when I finished it the first thing I said was 'What?! That's it?!' No joke I was expecting more.
I need to play Devil's Advocate here (the irony) and say that Tyler Perry can make a good film. In my humble opinion, Meet The Browns, Madea's Family Reunion, The Family That Preys, and Daddy's Little Girls are all good. He tells stories with strong themes, usually family-related, like divorce, abuse, poverty, etc. When he wants a full-on drama, he goes for it in direction and writing. He can write resilient characters anyone would root for. He can write genuinely funny comedy that produces real laughter. That said, I cannot jump on the bandwagon that calls his movies trash. He can put out decent work.
I agree that the religious overtones can be very preachy, but he and the audience he addresses come from "the church" so he wants to include that. I think he is uninspired right now, but he can come out of that and put out something great.

I don't rock with Perry like that but I watched this one and I at least liked how the brother didn't go off and marry a white woman once he got on and he tried to do right by his ex. It was a noble thing to do. It was his invention and persistence but she did struggle with for a time and that is worth something even though she made him leave!

You're not mad at Tyler Perry but I'm mad, there are a ton of young black screenwriters in LA and Atlanta and New York who would love the chance to pitch a decent screenplay to Hollywood and Tyler Perry hogging up all of the spotlight with this nonsense.
People like Melinda are created from the lack of help they refuse to seek out. This movie scared the hell out of me because I was sorta in a situation like this only I wasn’t the father. Not going into detail but that kind of pain and state of mind is the equivalent fear to a person nothing left to lose.

I understand how he hurt her and although he didn't deserve forgiveness, she shouldn't have given him that much energy. She made herself unlikable with her crazy antics.

I think it's cause Tyler Perry empathizes with the guy cause he is the guy. Poor guy with a dream that he kept pursuing and finally get rich. He doesn't even see his own trash.

Welcome back Billy! Hey guys, which film was worse Acrimony or A Wrinkle in Time? I'm going with A Wrinkle. I was entertained with Acrimony. The truth is every woman I know can relate to this film. Either we was a Melinda (wanting to act out our rage but never did) or our BFF, niece, auntie, mother even grandmother with a Melinda (who DID act out SOME of their rage). In fact my niece went Jesus crazy after she lost her virginity. The scene with Melinda dancing and carrying on is FACT! I seen it first hand with my niece. She is super religious like the type that would go on train cars and preach to you. My other niece just let her boyfriend dog her out verbally and take him back every time. My nieces are very young early 20's, beautiful and lost af in this world. They don't want to listen to no one advice. Tyler movie seem too over dramatic but unfortunately, it's not regarding the relationship. The crazy is real!!!!
