I think the fx6 makes you look so much more pro as well. I know thats a dumb reason but it's true!
I'd still get the fx3, I prefer the smaller form factor.
What we need is a camera that has internal ND AND IBIS in one body!
There is one! The sony burano...but it's also 25k haha!
Would like to see you try a similar priced Canon, blackmagic or red camera vs the fx6

Great video Aaron and interesting to see how they stack up from real world usecase like yours. I would also throw Canon c70 in the ring as a good alternative if someone is not already invested in sony e mount ecosystem.

I would choose fx6 all day every day. Auto ND and proper cinema camera body = easy win.
As an owner of an FX30 and a7iv, I haven’t had much reason to upgrade to the 6. The NDs and SDI would probably be it. But I like smaller cameras but can still be rigged out.
Great comparison, thanks for sharing your insight. Do you think that the max 4k resolution is a downside given that cameras from canon, blackmagic etc are 6k and even 8k?
Personally I think 8k is only really useful if you're going to heavily crop. For most people 4k is still more than enough.
FX6 is my dream camera but it's good to know the fx3 is not so different for image quality
Looks like the fx6 as an A cam with the fx3 as a B cam is a good combo! How did you record the audio for the musician? It sounds really good!
Straight into the fx6. We had two mics - one for the singer and one for the guitarist and it records them on separate tracks.

If you look at the skin tone on the side by side shot, the fx6 looks a bit more natural to me, but yeah average jo defintely won't be able to really tell the diffence. Great video as always guys!

They've both gotten a bit of a price drop recently. Does this mean an fx6 and fx3 mark ii at some point?
They've both been out for a few years now so the price drop probably reflects that. I don't think we'll see mark II's for a while yet still though.
Do you think the fx6 is a better choice for wedding videography or is it too big and bulky?
It's not that it's too bulky for weddings, it's just that the fx3 is much smaller and can probably do just as good as a job.
Thoughts on the fx6 mark ii rumours???
I don't think it will be anytime soon tbh but if anything it would make this one cheaper :)
