    I like that the rack is the same plane as the seat. Looks good. Nice job!

    3:12 Definitely something I have in the back my mind. It's 45 min - 1.5 hours each way on pavement just to get to the dirt so I typically have 5-8 hour days (with breaks.)

    I got the factory rack for a klx230 and it fit perfect. Kawasaki also includes a new smaller profile tool bag with that rack.

    Your garage looks like mine. I’ve got the 2023 KLX 300 and I love it it does everything pretty darn well
    Great ergonomics terrific suspension and impressive acceleration and torque don’t be fooled by the 300 cc mark
    I like the rack I have the same one on my 2023 and it did fit perfectly out of the box

    I want that 2024 green and black seat. My 2023 is just a plain black seat

    This is only an issue with the 24 model because Kawasaki changed the rear fender and license plate bracket. The tail tidy kit won't work either. I just put 2 more spacers half the length stacked on top and it's good to go. You can get them at home depot

    Interesting, I have a 2024 KLX 300 with the exact same rack, spacers to short... I stacked 3 firm, black rubber washers on top of the spacers on each side to give me the extra length, worked perfectly, nice and solid. If there's a will there's a way, lol. Enjoy your new wheels👍 I love this bike!

      I had the same issue with this rack on my KLX. I happened to have two identical deep sockets (3/8 or 5/16 maybe?) that fit perfectly. I cut them down to level the rack & painted them black. I like your rubber washer idea though, a little vibration dampening between rack & bike. In the video the weight of the back of the rack is on the fender, going through the fender to the metal panel below is a better plan IMO...

    Hi Todd! That was an excellent how to video. I especially liked how you gave details on drill bit size and size carriage bolts needed for installation. I have been restoring bikes for about 40 years, just as a hobby, and then sell them, usually breaking even or losing money, LOL I hope to purchase that same model this spring. I am 5'8'' so I need the lower seat. I will do those same 2 mods and also install bark busters and fmf exhaust. Again thanks for the excellent video!

      I got the seat concepts low pro seat for my 300 Rally, and it has been a night and day difference. But if I ever do it again, I think I will be going with the standard version over the low pro. I can see how the thicker one would be even that much more comfortable.

      @@airadaimagery692 I'm still breaking mine in, but I've already had the same thoughts. The low pro is definitely an improvement over the OEM seat, and it did lower the seat height by 1-1/8 inches on top of that so I'm pretty happy all-in-all!

      @airadaimagery692 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@ToddsProjectsandOutdoorJournal yes, I agree. The stock seat on my Rally was just hideous. I literally contemplated selling my bike just because I couldn’t sit on it for more than 1.5hr tops! The seat concepts seat was a game changer. I can ride for about 3hrs now before I start getting a little uncomfortable. That’s a huge improvement.... And I am a short guy, with a 30” inseam, so the low pro seat was just another viable reason to upgrade to the low pro version at the time. But now that I have 2k miles on the bike, I’m not as intimidated by its height anymore, and the extra 1-1/8” of that quality foam would definitely make it that much better. That foam they use is magical. I purchased just the foam and cover, and so I had to install it myself, so I got a good look at the foam and was able to compare it to what Honda uses, and i was amazed at the difference in quality. I wish everything I ride on/in and sit/sleep on was made from that stuff! Lol...

    I have the 2024 and the tool bag front bolts have nuts that drop in between the upper and lower fender…would have been nice with threaded inserts instead

    I have the 2025 klx300 and i have not ordered anything yet for mine because everyone says that nothing fits for it yet. Ugh i really want to get the skid plate and foot pegs and rear rack with handles on it but i dont want to waste money if it dont fit. Its frustrating lol. Great video btw. And yes i scuffed my seat with my boot by accident and if you use goo gone it comes right off.

    Did you anything with the other two holes ?

    • @ToddsProjectsandOutdoorJournal
      @ToddsProjectsandOutdoorJournal  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No, they are under the rack and I hVe a tail bag on the rack so you can't see them and they don't get dirt in them. You could get bolts and plug the holes but I decided it just wasn't necessary.

    How do you like the upgraded seat have you taken any ong rides yet. I can say the factory seat really sucks when i have had back problems for year's lol

      I've got close to 800 miles on the seat. I'll be doing a 1,000 mile video review soon. My thoughts are that the back rest is great. The seat once it's broken in at around 500 miles is more comfortable than the OEM seat. Is it really a 5 hour seat as Saddleman says? NO, for touring you're still going to want to stop every 90 minutes. The seat isn't wide enough to be a good long haul Touring seat. It's still a huge improvement over OEM.

    Hi Todd! So I am not 100% sure if I want to buy the kawasaki klx300 or a honda crf300l. Its nice that you own both of them which is why I want to ask you which one you like better and would recommend which one I should buy. I do mostly dirt road riding around the town I live in, no highway riding, and am big on maintenance and not abusing the bike. I would like it to last for years. Which one do do think I should get? Thanks for letting me know. Bob

      As you probably know the Kawasaki has a much better suspension, and it is also an adjustable suspension. That's going to matter most if you weigh more than about 140 lbs. My wife weighs around 130 and she has no issues with the suspension on the CRF300L. I'm about 240 and the KLX300 is just fine for me right off the showroom floor without making any adjustments which I can still do if need be. When I ride the CRF that suspension is definitely compressed, and on dirt roads and 2 track logging roads you can feel it. Beyond the suspension the 2 bikes are super equal. The Honda has a much better dash with a fule guage and an info button that gives you gas mileage and more. The stock foot pegs on the Honda are also better. The 2024 KLX has a much better LED headlight and tail light. I chose the Kawasaki because of the suspension and the LED headlight knowing that I would be changing out the foot pegs. If I was 150 lbs. I probably would have bought the Honda. Hope this helps. The bottom line is you can't go wrong with either bike. Best of luck...

      Hi Todd, thanks for the info on both bikes. I am going to choose the Kawasaki because as far as no fuel guage, I can use the odometer to figure gas mileage and figure out from there when I need refueling, plus I leave with the tank full anyways. I like the suspension on Kawasaki also compared to the honda, and the foot pegs are easy to change also as you know. I was swaying toward the Kawasaki but wasn't sure as I was always a Honda rider but the Kawasaki it is! Thanks again, Bob W@@ToddsProjectsandOutdoorJournal

      I hve the 2023 klx 300
      Luv it ! No comparison the Kawasaki is better on acceleration and more importantly suspension it handles the bumps and yet it’s very smooth.
      It’s a l Torquay engine smooth linear power
