The most splendid piece out of all of the Brandenburgs
Ill take brandenburg 3 as the best and this one second.
Oooiooooooooooiooooooooooporoo9ooouoooooooouoooooooooooo9ooo9o9o9o999o9o9uoooooo Pi oooo deoioo
I personally prefered Brandenburg no 5 Allegro
I don't know. They all are amazing, I can't describe with words how great they are. No way I can say one is better than the other, it's not that simple.
I find myself listening to this particular composition very often, but I don't know. lol
This song is no doubt top tier. I would love to see this performed live
Just for your info:
the fabulous 1st violist Herbert Blendinger (left), who soon will be celebrating his 75th anniversary, is suffering from several strokes for 20+ years and had to abbandon playing completely. He then concentrated more on composing - and is a reknowned composer on his own. This fine recording must be already from the 70ties.
Update: he sadly passed away in 2020 🙏🏻
@@baileyreidrickman HERE: th-cam.com/video/gHFFOLruQOE/w-d-xo.html and HERE: th-cam.com/video/9f4oXE-2Rak/w-d-xo.html ... are compositions by Blendinger!
let's wake up with this beautiful song in this depressing covid-era....
This is the best performance of this piece I have ever heard
Thank God for the internet, and for the music, and for the human beings, and emotions, and all. It's crazy!
The mans on the cello is going ham when the break down comes in. Woowowowow
I mean the viola is a marvelous instrument that many people don't even know exists and I am a big fan of viola music
As a viola player that's good to hear
I love seeing how passionate each musician is. They’re all getting into this
Wonderful performance of a very addictive piece of music. That is 7 very serious Men At Work.
I love their short well coiffed hair. No hippies here!
The fact that you can hear each stand out when their time comes is just 🤌🏽
For those who don't know about the story behind Bach's Brandenburg concertos. In 1721, Bach composed six “concertos for various instruments”. He dedicated them to a German nobleman and sent the manuscript as a gift, hoping to land a job as the court composer in Brandenburg. The nobleman never replied. Bach eventually took another job in Leipzig, where he lived for the rest of his life. Bach had send his original and there were no copies. The 6 concertos were lost for 130 years. They were never performed. The manuscript was eventually sold for about $20 and shelved in a library. The Brandenburg Concertos sat there until 1849, when they were discovered and published for the first time. Thank god.
Thank you for this historical perspective. To think that six piece of the most sublime music ever written sat unplayed on a shelf for 130 years and might never have been discovered.
@@jangerston You're welcome and I agree with you. I also think that a lot of pieces were destroyed and lost over time. I read somewhere that Bach wrote 300 cantatas but only 200 survived and they said it was because of the kind of paper and ink they used in that era, it sometimes got destroyed by time.
All Brandenburg Concertos are beautiful. This one is my favourite and this third movement deserves special attention.
Thanks for sharing this.
What I wouldn’t give to see this live. What an incredible piece of music
Beautifully done JSB would be proud of this performance
Those violas is blasting away everything, that force, and Karls attack chords on the cembalo, this is Bach
Yes sir. They definitely maintain the structure of the music!
Such strong craftsmanships. What amazing musicians to bring life to such a beautiful song
The maximum grace of this movement is reached when one has first listened to the fifteen preceding movements.
What I would give to see this in person
the best version for me
Thank you for the uploading. Thanks the God for sending Karl Richter to the earth, even though it was just 55 years.
I just 'sing out loud' whenever I listen to this....awesome violist
I think the viola is a very underrated instrument
One reason this performance is so strong is the amazingly high caliber of the 2 violists
Absolutely. Insane piece of music. What a brilliant way to be remembered.
Hark!
Such a spectacular piece, I have been listening to this for 5 days straight and good heavens has it been a treat! Totally in love with it especially the part with the string instruments. BRAVO GOOD SIRS BRAVO
Excellent! Bach must be very satisfied with this performance!
The symmetry in their bowstrokes and sound at 1:51-2:15 gives me unspeakable joy. 😢
Even if the melody wasn't so exquisite, the rhythm alone would make this piece worthwhile. Magnificent.
I would love to see this live. To just be a quiet chair listening to this heavenly tune
I like this ensemble. They are all serious musicians. No hippies here.
How on earth did Bach write such a beautiful piece?? Certain things in this world have to be mysterious. This is one among them. Gives me Goosebumps everytime I listen to this
It is a joy to hear how well this is played. Bravo!
I wish I could see this live. What skill to write such an incredible song.
I finally ran into this piece of music and IMMEDIATELY recognized it as the theme played by the flautist in ABTF! Amazing scene, amazing movie and amazing piece of music! BRAVO! Never thought anything was written for Violas without violins! And had never heard of the viola da gamba, almost looks like a cello! Bach surprises you even after being a fan for over 40 years!
A fun, beautiful, profound, great piece. A cousin of the fifth movement of Cantata BWV 80.
Music at its finest!
Their performance of Bach heals my tired mind ,
Shortly speaking
Bach's works that are played in good manner are my tranquilizer .
Bach' s works are the cure - all of my spiritual anxiety

Which national are you watching this video ?
That's what I call very good music
Such an effusive and cheering melody; it was an inspired choice to have the flautist with the injured hand play towards the end of 'A Bridge Too Far'. You'll never hear this in the same way again.
Some of my favorite viola pieces this piece by Bach, Harold in Italy by Hector Berlioz, and Mozart's Sinfonia Concertante for Violin and Viola. There are also great viola solos in string quartets like the one by Ravel
This is one of my favorite Bach compositions. For a long time, I thought this was Concert #7 because it was labeled as such on and old cassette tape I had, and I spent many fruitless hours looking for it. Finally, I decided to listen to all of them and discovered that there is no seven! In any case, Soli Deo Gloria!
It’s just so incredible to hear. I’m grateful there’s a good video of this piece and great musicians
this is the only song i will ever listen to ever again
The best in your artistic endeavors!!

Love this particular movement! It's even played on the harpsichord in a lovely room of the period. Love this classic!

Sparkles, professional male model
Just a beautiful performance, thank you to all the performers for your hard work and dedication.
Wonderful piece by J. S. Bach. :)))^
... mainly from minute 2:21 on.
Masterpiece
.
Nunca me canso de escucharla
This particular rendition of this lovely movement makes me wish I'd chosen to play the viola in school instead of the violin, because the former has that darker, richer sound that the violin, with its smaller body and higher register, lacks.
Nicely played
Lovely :-)
They look like they are having fun, especially the harpsichordist and he has the easy part.
The harpsichordist was also the conductor.
eu amo música CLÁSSICA.

J'adore vraiment !
I love this tune. It sounds amazing! Man, this would also sound incredible in the form of Metal.
I would love a metal remix but the way it is is perfect.
Oh my god they're gorgeous
Bach Rocks
@banjobubby the viola da gamba - a six stringed instrument, not seen too often but is making a slow come back....an interesting history and explanation of the viola da gamba is available on several web sites.
Awesome.
Great.
What an absolutely beautiful room to play this in!
Thanks Johann.
Sublime.
❤
This melody calms mind
Love it!
Bellissimo brano.

Sebastian
2:12 violas rock!
Nice paintings m8.
(great performance)
you can't really say that they are stupid because they have different tastes in music than you. but yes it is my favourite piece i love it!
The 2nd violist. I really want to hug him. Such a bear
Good Music.
When I see renditions that splendid I wonder if the musicians really need a conductor, even if it is Karl Richter, who unfortunately passed away way too early.
