The Ambrose gas grenade has another quality that makes it incredibly useful: You can throw it while hiding in a crowd and remain completely undetected. I used this to my advantage with The Ascensionist in Dubai, standing directly in front of my target at the start of their loop.
I was not aware that the EMP could trigger a shock kill... Propane explosions on the other hand, I suppose it makes sense as it does send out sparks. Another good non-suspicious alternative to setting off propane is The Big One. And The Big One is often also found in one of the random item chests in Freelancer, where that application can really be put into use.
I’ve been playing Hitman for over a year now (100% completed all locations apart from freelancer), and I didn’t even know some of these tips definitely going to start to use these in the future! Great content as always 👍
the ica crowbar gets slept on imo since you're carrying a melee and a door-opener at the same time, plus you can also use it for miscellaneous tasks (cracking open ladders for shortcuts & paths on areas like ambrose, opening crates in sgail, etc.) if anything else has a close second then it's probably napoleon blownaparte since it makes noise and can attract targets for easy accident kills with cars/propane flasks (you can kill mendola in marrakesh in less than 20 seconds with it)
micro taser, explosive(s), and audio device are also very handy since they can be carried openly... the big one is nice for setting off thrown propane... breachers are great for drive by propane kills ducks are great because you can throw them without being suspicious and the gum and goldbrick snail are super useful for tranq'g non targets and the banana is great for a slip, a knock down for fall kill without pacification, pacification of multiple NPCs, and one-time thrown distraction I'm also a proponent of having briefcases that come preloaded based on the starting disguise... for example, the (arctic) toolbox could contain a crowbar, hammer, wrench, and screwdriver if starting as a handyman, tech crew, gardener, etc... or a medical bag with each of the 3 syringes and/or pills when starting as a doctor or surgeon..
I like to use the Remote EMP Charge and the Emetic Gas Grenade pretty often while doing contracts but I had no idea you could have the target pick up the EMP charge and set up kills that way, definitely gonna try and use this in the future. Great vid as always 👍
I know I'm really late, but I'm glad to see some love for the F/A Stealth! I only got Hitman: WoA two weeks ago and have been really enjoying going through the maps and doing challenges like the Escalations and Kill Everyone Challenges. When I'm doing any of those, I'll always consider the Stealth and I credit it as the reason I managed to get through my Kill Everyone Bangkok Challenge.

Thanks for the video. One thing I learned about is the EMP. I’ve never used that. It’s just sitting in my inventory as an item that I didn’t understand. I like that you can use that for exploding and electrocuting targets. I knew you could use it as a thrown object but didn’t know the target would pick it up. I’m sure that I’ll use that sometime. I used to use the Emetic Gas Grenade regularly if I wanted to emetic somebody because the design looks awesome. I didn’t realise it behaved differently because I never used the other options much. Then I switched to the fart briefcase (if a briefcase is an option) because it is so easy to stand right next to your target and trigger it. Now that I’ve got the Durian fruit it’s my new favourite. It’s not suspicious to throw it and it’s funny to me (the concept of a stinky fruit that makes you sick). I don’t know why the smoke is blue and not green considering it’s not a sedative. And I only realised that the Black Almond’s Dagger contained poison a day ago. I was doing some featured contracts and one required that as a weapon. When selecting it I was very surprised thinking, “a knife that poisons??? WTF?”

I somehow didn't know about that even though I play the trilogy many times over the years. I'm pretty sure it was not possible in Hitman 2016 at launch, I tried and I was disappointed that we can't do it, then I never tried to do it again since.
I've been using the ICA flash phone a lot lately. It's a lot better than a coin because m you can use it as both a melee item and a remote audio distraction. Not to mention it's ability to flash a whole room full of people. I also notice that it reliably attracts different people than you would with a coin. So if you've got like two guards and you can never get the right one with a coin, try the phone. It often works!
Black Almond is soooo underrated! I understand why some people don't bring it because it's ilegal to hold, but as I play SASO usually I love that item. Using many of these items myself makes me feel like a weirdo now hahaha

I can't believe I've gotten the platinum trophy on the PlayStation version, and like 300 hours on my Steam PC copy, and never heard of this item. I must've missed it while scrolling through all of the challenges, which is strange, as I've done that many, many times. I'm sure it doesn't help that I don't really like Mumbai, so I haven't played it like at all, clearly, since it's only level 10. The remote emetic device is literally the most overpowered item in the game when paired with a briefcase. When placed in a briefcase all that you need to do is walk up to a target holding a briefcase and detonate, sending them to the bathroom for a free drowning accident kill (or potentially even other types of kills). It trivializes 90% of elusive targets, and still makes the other ones significantly easier. Even when you can’t directly walk up to a target, just throw it like you would an emetic grenade and then detonate it in the briefcase
The niche items in the game I consider underrated are the loud guns in general. Loud guns do attract attention, but there are numerous situations where you have time to hide before backup shows up, and the AI never checks containers for you unless someone saw you climb in them. So if you move quick, loud weapons will often suffice. And there are times when you'd *want* to summon guards, such as taking their costumes or isolating them to a more secluded location before dispatching them, so loud weapons can be especially effective for doing that. Although a little immersion-breaking, a fun way to troll the game's AI is to take out an isolated guard with a loud weapon, duck into the nearest bin or closet, wait for more guards to show up, take them out with the loud weapon too, duck back into the closet/bin, wait for yet more guards... rinse and repeat this as many times as you want until you get bored or they run out of guards to send. 🤣 And this works in Master mode as well. And if you don't care about your non-target kill score, you can cheese your way through any level using this method.
The new blue easter egg from the Easter contract is so OP. Will knock multiple people out and make them drop items plus it doesnt count as you doing it so it doesnt affect SASO

Right after the Arkham series out of which imo Arkham knight restrospectively is a technological Marvel to this day. even as a hardcore hitman fan from old days I didn't find much to nitpick in them. It's a miracle how after all the developement issues these games still hold quality (some inconsistencies yes like the rushed cutscenes in hitman 2018 but even then the narrative was so good and still picture cutscenes did good job)and ended on a high note with the third and most recent hitman 3 even having a great story. And plus... All of it you can play in vr now. Graphics.. look great and with ray tracing it looks immaculate now esp. the china level. Also.. mild spoiler but the very first e3 trailer from 2015 for first Hitman season is basically the end of hitman 3 showing all upcoming locations and targets and the trailer ends with Diana saying.. it's good to have u back. Also theres a cool hidden ending which will blow your mind if you've played hitman c47 like me the very first game of series. Hitman isn't even supposed to compete with other games on basis of guns/ cars/ effects explosions etc yet cyberpunk looks trash even compared to hitman. Graphically speaking, cybertrash ain't got shit on Hitman's Berlin and china level for eg. The real meat of hitman is NPC / target characters and world stories especially the dialogue and replayability. the amount of hidden dialogues is impeccable in these hitman games. I don't think it's even possible to hear everything from every scenario you can create and that's not even counting the scripted story stuff you hear in mission opportunities. The dialogue here is the stuff of legend in the whole gaming I'd say. We praise writing for tlou or uncharted and things like that but story telling here is so different. And so immediate. For eg comments on how NPCs after waking up from a knockout say and even change dialogue based upon whether or not they witnessed you before being knocked out, whether they remember you, what disguise you wearing, who are they detailing your info to? Is it a guard or a fellow NPC , the NPCs will describe your illegal actions to guards surprisingly in a very detailed and varied way, guards will taunt you and command you to drop various items by their names while trying to arrest you and even alert others if you try to shoot with empty gun, NPCs even will even have a funny comment if they realize you're wearing their clothes after knocking them out and they're naked. then there's gunpoint/ getting shot dialogue, subdue dialogue, nps commenting on your disguise and even noticing things like if you're wearing a too hot of an outfit on a sunny day or a different/ whacky suit that has no context to the location you're playing in, all elusive targets have their own backstories and that content most people never dive into that extensively. Infact content of elusive targets may now be forever lost and all of it never felt like a side / low effort chore. It all had its own briefing videos, own voice acting, own stories, own character moments with targets and had the same attention and care as the main missions from the main game. Then there's so many "hidden" dialogues for eg in the 2016 the landslide mission, after killing Marco abiatti his bodyguard will go to the tower to his colleagues and be sad about how he couldn't save his boss and he'll be fired again which will make things difficult for him and his pregnant wife. Just the sheer amount of backstory details in these new hitman games is quite simply ridiculous. The dialogue frankly to me seems endless. Like is said, It's literally impossible to have heard everything for every scenario in these games
Does anybody else have a problem with the black almond's dagger? I tried doing an escalation in Santa fortuna, and I had to poison a chef's pot, but it didn't seem to recognize that I was carrying the dagger, it still said missing poison 😢
Wait, the EMP is this versatile? I thought it's for cameras only. This could be borderline broken. It can do so much, yet the devs removed the ICA Electrocution Phone.
The ICA flash phone deserves an honorable mention if coins fail to get the attention of a stubborn Npc the phone will get the job done you can flash three NPC with it if you place it right which lasts for about eight seconds also, it can be used as a nonlethal weapon and the game gives it to you as potential loadout item at the start of the game no mastery required.
The Emetic Gas Grenade is also in Freelancer, but only as a crate item. Insanely useful and worth checking any crates you can find for it, because emetic options on Freelancer can be limited and costly (when you use that mine briefcase combo, you'll need to get the mine back). I'd like to give an honorable mention to the Audio Distraction Devices, but they keep breaking how they work. In Hitman 2 you could use an inaccessible audio distraction to completely paralyze patrolling guards, forever locking them in place looking at an audio lure they could never retrieve. It could do silly things like turn that entire room full of guards in the Sgail basement to stare at the wall while you take out the civilians behind them and they'd never find the bodies. Now, audio lures are really weird and other than the phones and Napoleon Blownaparte they don't work very well at all. Shame.
I think gum or snail bomb are more niche than a few of those. Very useful for to get Frank/main guard to drop his 2 keys as soon as mission starts in New York and to get the female NPC to drop the documents in A House Built on Sand.
I feel like some really niche items still fun to use, especially on freelancer when you can only carry limited number of items before starting the map. Pointing how to use them make me want to be creative even more.
I would argue that the remote emetic gas device in a suitcase is better than the grande. Walk up to the target, press the button and gas surrounds 47 and the briefcase. No suspicion. It is also throwable without raising alarm and all NPCs will go to pick it up. Heck you can even have an NPC deliver it to a guard target.
But the video is about underrated items. The emetic device in a suitcase is one of the most used (bc most OP) items in the game! That's why it's not mentioned.
Anyone (actually) wishing for the Electrocution Phone to return - the Remote EMP is the best and closest thing they'll get without the ultra cheapness.
I prefer durian and of course of ICA F/A ducky edition to bring to whittleton because the ridiculous featured contracts there make me not having a slot for a lockpick

Not a niche item but remote and proximity tasers are up there too since you can use them for free guard electrocution accident kills because they pick it up when they see it.

My current fav is the screwdriver. For quick stealth melee kills, thrown head shot, and the traps utilization.
I always used the unsilenced machine pistol. Feels satisfying to use and I have mastered controlling it.

*LONG COMMENT IN APPRECIATION FOR HITMAN TRILOGY*
Hitman games from 2016 to 2021 are now my all time fav games ever personally. Right after the Arkham series out of which imo Arkham knight restrospectively is a technological Marvel to this day. even as a hardcore hitman fan from old days I didn't find much to nitpick in them. It's a miracle how after all the developement issues these games still hold quality (some inconsistencies yes like the rushed cutscenes in hitman 2018 but even then the narrative was so good and still picture cutscenes did good job)and ended on a high note with the third and most recent hitman 3 even having a great story. And plus... All of it you can play in vr now. Graphics.. look great and with ray tracing it looks immaculate now esp. the china level. Also.. mild spoiler but the very first e3 trailer from 2015 for first Hitman season is basically the end of hitman 3 showing all upcoming locations and targets and the trailer ends with Diana saying.. it's good to have u back. Also theres a cool hidden ending which will blow your mind if you've played hitman c47 like me the very first game of series. Hitman isn't even supposed to compete with other games on basis of guns/ cars/ effects explosions etc yet cyberpunk looks trash even compared to hitman. Graphically speaking, cybertrash ain't got shit on Hitman's Berlin and china level for eg. The real meat of hitman is NPC / target characters and world stories especially the dialogue and replayability. the amount of hidden dialogues is impeccable in these hitman games. I don't think it's even possible to hear everything from every scenario you can create and that's not even counting the scripted story stuff you hear in mission opportunities. The dialogue here is the stuff of legend in the whole gaming I'd say. We praise writing for tlou or uncharted and things like that but story telling here is so different. And so immediate. For eg comments on how NPCs after waking up from a knockout say and even change dialogue based upon whether or not they witnessed you before being knocked out, whether they remember you, what disguise you wearing, who are they detailing your info to? Is it a guard or a fellow NPC , the NPCs will describe your illegal actions to guards surprisingly in a very detailed and varied way, guards will taunt you and command you to drop various items by their names while trying to arrest you and even alert others if you try to shoot with empty gun, NPCs even will even have a funny comment if they realize you're wearing their clothes after knocking them out and they're naked. then there's gunpoint/ getting shot dialogue, subdue dialogue, nps commenting on your disguise and even noticing things like if you're wearing a too hot of an outfit on a sunny day or a different/ whacky suit that has no context to the location you're playing in, all elusive targets have their own backstories and that content most people never dive into that extensively. Infact content of elusive targets may now be forever lost and all of it never felt like a side / low effort chore. It all had its own briefing videos, own voice acting, own stories, own character moments with targets and had the same attention and care as the main missions from the main game. Then there's so many "hidden" dialogues for eg in the 2016 the landslide mission, after killing Marco abiatti his bodyguard will go to the tower to his colleagues and be sad about how he couldn't save his boss and he'll be fired again which will make things difficult for him and his pregnant wife. Just the sheer amount of backstory details in these new hitman games is quite simply ridiculous. The dialogue frankly to me seems endless. Like is said, It's literally impossible to have heard everything for every scenario in these games

Does anybody else have a problem with the black almond's dagger? I tried doing an escalation in Santa fortuna, and I had to poison a chef's pot, but it didn't seem to recognize that I was carrying the dagger, it still said missing poison 😢

The ICA flash phone deserves an honorable mention if coins fail to get the attention of a stubborn Npc the phone will get the job done you can flash three NPC with it if you place it right which lasts for about eight seconds also, it can be used as a nonlethal weapon and the game gives it to you as potential loadout item at the start of the game no mastery required.
The Emetic Gas Grenade is also in Freelancer, but only as a crate item. Insanely useful and worth checking any crates you can find for it, because emetic options on Freelancer can be limited and costly (when you use that mine briefcase combo, you'll need to get the mine back).
I'd like to give an honorable mention to the Audio Distraction Devices, but they keep breaking how they work. In Hitman 2 you could use an inaccessible audio distraction to completely paralyze patrolling guards, forever locking them in place looking at an audio lure they could never retrieve. It could do silly things like turn that entire room full of guards in the Sgail basement to stare at the wall while you take out the civilians behind them and they'd never find the bodies. Now, audio lures are really weird and other than the phones and Napoleon Blownaparte they don't work very well at all. Shame.
I think gum or snail bomb are more niche than a few of those. Very useful for to get Frank/main guard to drop his 2 keys as soon as mission starts in New York and to get the female NPC to drop the documents in A House Built on Sand.

The durian "melee" fruit is now the best emetic option, it can be dropped in plain sight and explode on impact
I feel like some really niche items still fun to use, especially on freelancer when you can only carry limited number of items before starting the map. Pointing how to use them make me want to be creative even more.
The emetic gas grenade (embrose) is also really useful to get rid of multiple people at the same time.

I would argue that the remote emetic gas device in a suitcase is better than the grande. Walk up to the target, press the button and gas surrounds 47 and the briefcase. No suspicion. It is also throwable without raising alarm and all NPCs will go to pick it up. Heck you can even have an NPC deliver it to a guard target.
But the video is about underrated items. The emetic device in a suitcase is one of the most used (bc most OP) items in the game! That's why it's not mentioned.
The emetic gas grenade has become part of my standard loadout. It's second only to the Sieker in terms of power.

Anyone (actually) wishing for the Electrocution Phone to return - the Remote EMP is the best and closest thing they'll get without the ultra cheapness.

You can't go through frisk points with the Black Almond dagger, which is quite annoying

Not a niche item but remote and proximity tasers are up there too since you can use them for free guard electrocution accident kills because they pick it up when they see it.
