- Blender tutorial shows how to make Transparent Glass Material in Blender 4 using Principled BSDF Shader Node. In this video, we will add a 3d object as edit it to become glass 3D model, and then we will use Cycles as a renderer for making glass material in render preview. We can make transparent clear glass, frosted glass and colored glass by using Principled BSDF shader node. Steps are easy to follow for Blender beginners. Hope this helps.

Glad it helped!
Thank you! in other videos they used complex color/texture maps and stuff that confused me, but you helped me finish my project.
Glad I could help! To make it simple, we can save our setup time and minimize the load of computer rendering.

I've been searching for a good up to date tutorial for almost an hour, you saved my ass from going insane thank you 🙏
omg another problem, how do you export this correctly to Unity? (Because the transparent material is not transparent at all....)
glad this was helps.
this material is for Cycles only. If your model exported to other application. Transmission does not work. Use Alpha instead.
Great video! Easy to follow and straight to the point.
thank you for telling me.

i did encounter a problem. The colored glass refused to accept any coloreven though everything was checked and doubled checked. I made a new pane and everything went well.
I didnt know u could do that with principled bsdf, thats really cool
yes, straightforward, and I hope this helps.
@@blenderian.3d it does!
hi guys, anyone knows how to block a portion of the rain? I have a tilted window in my scene, so I used the 'rain splash' plane as window, but rain seems to penetrate the plane
Great sharing
Thank you so much 🙂
Hi, thank you for this! I am wondering, do you export it as a GLB or FBX?
um. the material should be used with Blender only.
fantastic video, I like it a lot, very good job, greetings, from Spain, your friend, 👍82

hi i have 1 question, when i export the 3d file as fbx and then view it with a 3d file viewer the transparency doesnt stay, just the color. how can i fix this?
This material is for Cycles only. If exporting material in transparent, we adjust Alpha in Principled BSDF shader node.
Good tutorial
Will it work in evee if not then how to make such types of glasses in evee
no. it is not working for eevee.
thanks
Welcome
cool hello from indonesia
Hello Indonesia Friend
when i do like yours, my glass has kinda park backgrond , i think its deafult think, how to fix it?
I guess that you are in material preview in viewport sharing, we can click the arrow in shading and change the background by clicking the environment sphere. or go to render preview directly.
nice sharing 🌸 4:42
Thank you very much!
How do i open the resize panel 0:28 if i accidently shut it down? :)
Hit Shortcut F9, the panel will be shown again.
But what is i want to import it to make a window when my animation is not in that rendered review ?
Or is it the glass will shown after i render with my animation?
Yes, it works for animation if render in Cycles.
do an aquarium in blue light at night :p

How to make Realistic Metal Material in Blender 4.0?
I haven't prepared Metal Material in Blender 4.0 , see if this helps which materials are set in Blender 3. Please have a look here, th-cam.com/video/ofeFJFCq1OE/w-d-xo.html
Ohhh mayyy PC
when I change the transmission weight from 0 to 1 nothing happens. what am i doing wrong?
try to switch to render preview with cycles and and a light. see if this helps.
@@blenderian.3d Thank you !!! I'll try that
Bro the first default cube was upset
sorry to know this...
thank you!!!!
Welcome!
I'll save your time guys. The tutorial part is 2:59 - 3:04.
right, we can find this timestamp in video description.
@@blenderian.3d My point was 99% of the tut was off topic. If you make a tut on how to do shading or lighting, there's no need to create the scene from scratch in the video. Wish you all the best.

New principled BSDF in Blender 4
oui oui baguette honhonhon
👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀
not helping
sorry to know this.
I know exactly what your problem was...
It was because you were rendering on EEVEE mode, not Cycle
Just FYI, this might be easy, but it does not produce physically correct glass.
yes, you are right, this is quick way to make simulation.
@@blenderian.3d The glass BSDF is faster, and more accurate.
