Finlay Donovan sounds like such a great premise! Intrigued to see how the series turns out. I LOVED The Southern Book Club, I pre-ordered his next book back in February I think. I would agree that the book ran a little long. The gaslighting of the main character got to be a little overwhelming for me at one point
I like the way you critique books. I don’t feel like its negative, just honest. I want to know if a book I’m thinking about reading has serious structural issues (that’s why I stopped reading self-published books - too many gushing reviews over poorly plotted, badly written, error laden crap), But there are also times when something bothers you that is just personal preference. You own that and let the watcher decide if that’s a dealbreaker for them.
Omg yes I totally agree with the positives your said about the vampire book! The relationships and not having to pretend you don't know he's the vampire! I was worried about it too
