Oh that little girl with the bump on her head was absolutely precious, when she got giggly when they were checking her neck made me melt
That was quite a big goose egg she had, wasn't it? 😮
She really bumped that!! She was cute 🥰
I was shocked by her big ole goosebump! But she was so sweet and calm. What a lovely disposition she has ♡
I was a bit baffled when Sylvie said she felt guilty letting her dad down. Few care so much about their parents she should get a gold medal! Such a role model for all of us.
Much respect to the lady who lost part of her leg, yet still takes care of her Dad.
I loved watching my dad as he lived with us for over 11 years and I was with him holding his hands for 5 days and nights in hospice to make his journey back home.. those years were hard but also rewarding and I’m glad I was there for my daddy .. miss him so much , been 6 years this December
I hope she reads this. You’re a champion. Bless you and your Dad. 🇨🇦
I I am am I
Dad's are such wonderful people. I miss mine everyday ❤
I agree
I appreciate how the patient’s pain is immediately addressed. In the US you’re treated like a criminal and pain meds are often held back.
Thank you for your service to the gentleman who served in WW2. if it weren't for brave men like him we wouldn't have the ability to go to hospital and be cared for.
Well let's hope we will still have the NHS for generations to come because the corrupt, thieving Tories are determined to privatise it.
Truly the Greatest Generation!
You mean all the countries that lose or are in wars don't have doctors or hospitals??
I think Sylvie and her cat deserve medals.
This is one of the best series on TH-cam
I agree
Agreed!❤
Nurses ARE angels! I learned that after several hospitalizations/surgeries for my son when he was young. They just masquerade as nurses!
The difference in pediatric care now, compared to when I was in 1st grade ( I'm in the USA, so my spelling and terms are different) are remarkable!
When I was about 6, I had an accident at school, which caused me to lose consciousness. 1. The school nurse told me to go take a nap. 2. The school didn't call my mother until after school was over, and they couldn't wake me up.
Back then, the MRI's and CT scans had not been invented yet, and the X-ray didn't show any fracture.
My brain began to swell, so they drilled into my skull to relieve the pressure.
I'm very lucky to be alive; but I have had migraine headaches ever since, and I had epileptic seizures for 30 years.
I am 76 so seeing these seniors kind of hits home. Hector was born in 1915. The same year my Dad was born. He passed in 1983 and I still miss him. So thankful I have my daughter and twin granddaughters.
I am 74. My Dad passed when I was 14. I still miss him! I have 2 little grandsons who are my world! And I am a twin. Greetings from 🇨🇦
Bless you my dear❤I'm a retired orderly) This is the best show on TH-cam! Pulls my heartstrings 💕
Oh Hector, bless you. You lived a long life. ❤️🩹
The caring of nurse Laura to Hector was beautiful to see, how she was spending more time with him, holding his hand, etc, making him feel safe till his grandson could get there. Bless you healthcare staff
Beautiful ❤
American ERs could take a note from there’s ERs they offer tea and they are polite and act as if they really care
and offer pain relief right away. It is like you have to be dying to get anything and even then, all they offer is ibuprofen and tylenol
Sylvie is such a strong and resilient woman.
Thank you. I love this show. Real reality show. ❤ i believe that taking care of someone you love until they pass is a privilege. All the time you spend with them is pure love, even when it gets rough.
Laying here watching, my favorite show, from my hospital bed after having been admitted after falling and getting a fracture in one of my tibias. So it's fun to make comparisons (I'm in the U.S.).
Hi from South Africa. Hope you doing OK. ❤
Speedy recovery from Australia 😊
@@lindyoliver7750 - Thanks 😊
@@wendygraham7787 - Thank you 😊
Wishing you a quick recovery from Canada 🇨🇦
Oh Peggy, what a character. Can't believe she's 93, wow looks & sounds so much younger.
she seemed at least 10-15 years younger!
Thanks for posting. These videos are always the highlight of the week for me!!!
Thank you for uploading these episodes ❤ I'm so hooked on this show ❤
It's absolutely wonderful!
RIP Hector 🙏
I love these hospital videos.I pity the elderly though.
Trust me, they don’t want your pity. They want companionship, a helping hand when they ask and lots of respect! Please.
What an odd thing to say.
Why do you pity them? I’m quite sure that they don’t want to be pitied! Would you like someone to pity you?
@@SJC49Well said!❤
20 years? I did it for 8 years ( father-in-law) hardest job I ever had.
I. Looked after my mum for 10 years till she was over 100 then she needed specialist care but is still here at 104….hard work !!
As a retired RN, I looked after my mother for nearly 7 years & ended up hospitalised with carer burnout. I didn't even know that existed🤔😏
Douglas 💖 Sylvie 💖 Hector 💖
Really enjoy this show
I never want to be in a position like the old man...what kind of quality of life does he have? Often family put their needs ahead of the person who is suffering. I will never allow my family to make medical decisions for me...when it is time to go, let me go.
That is why you should have a DNR. My grandma had one.
In my experience most people find that life is sweet even with disability and especially with dementia. It's dangerous to let your current self make decisions for the you who's there later. The rest of us need to treat each other kindly and with care.
Besides, he's ill with a chest infection. Most of the people in that ER would rather not be where they are at that moment.
Your family or the state. If you're incapacitated one of them will decide for you. I trust my family more...
@@sandrashevel2137What is a DNR ? I’m norwegian and don’t know all the bits and bobs. Is it «do not resuscitate» or something like that ?
I like Laura she's tough but so kind
The people you hear talking in the waiting room have microphones on them and still say the craziest things lol
Wow this is episode is about 12 years ago with patients, nurses and doctors
I used to watch cricket, I particularly liked the one day games. It had more action than the test games.
Aw Silvie, my heart bleeds for her.
At 31:10 closed captioning text says -the dr. comes in and says Orthopedics has suggested to him to refer him to the fried chicken...!"
The closed captioning is so often, hilariously, WRONG. WHY BOTHER?!!!???
😂😂
I love this show!
Daughter seems to always have caregivers guilt. I have seen it in my family. I went through it when I lost my husband.
Hector and his nurse 😭
Amen sister
Is it me, or does anyone else not understand a word Steve is saying? Closed Captions seems completely baffled!
Its either his dementia that makes it harder for him to articulate himself pr his daily bottle of wine...
Strangely enough, after having watched summer wine& keeping up appearances,I can make out what he is saying
True! Closed captions are garbage
Glen was a scumbag for not answering the phone
We don't have this degree of help and understanding where I am from. The care system are harsh and inconvenient.
Doesn't the one sister who takes care of her dad favor the nanny on that show? Just older, it's strange.
It’s hard to understand the older man with the shoulder problem.
I really like this series, but I don’t understand why it’s call 24 Hours when they start the clock at the beginning at 12:00.
Okay……they cover 12 a.m. to 12: a.m. 12+12 is 24!
Probably using Military time, where 1200 is 12 am, then 1201, 1202, and so on.
Oh!!! SORRY, THAT'S WRONG, OF ME!!!!
1200 midnight, is 0000, then 0001, 0002, and so on. Please, pardon my confusing error. I'm old.
What is the yellowish orange color liquid in the IV bags?
Sounds like platelets, I think.
It might be plasma.
❤❤
The old man needs 😂be sitting in up in bed
I just lost the video
what does A & E stand for hahahaha, what had he been smoking :)
Doesn’t sound like the older sister helps take care of her father. Shame.
Perhaps she has her own family to take care of? And please don’t shame people for not doing what you think they should be doing. You’ll never know what’s going on in other peopels life.
Definitely makes the most of nothing😊
Peggie didn’t need stitches? Or anything?
