I have never lost a 7's game with my Nurgle team, in my friend's bi-Friday 7's night. 1 Rotspawn, 2 Bloaters, 1 Pestigor, and 4 Rotters, has been my roster for awhile. I do need to bring them out again, but I've been having so much fun with my Slann team as of late. However, I hate to say this, but Ben has drop a couple of levels for my respect for saying a Rotspawn is pretty much a Troll. Even though they might have the same stats and have the same traits of Really Stupid and Regeneration, the skill package that comes with the Rotspawn outweighs the Trolls, especially if you are a coach that doesn't rely on or use Throw Team-mate with your Troll players. Tentacles, Disturbing Presence, and Foul Appearance are great when you know when and how to use them, and access to Mutation skill (something that Ben forgot to mention) you can make the Rotspawn, or any other Nurgle player outshine differently that what is out there, for the other teams that don't have access to Mutation skills. Now here is something that Ben also forgot to mention is Plague Ridden which once per game, when you kill a player that has strength 4 or less and doesn't have Decay, Stunty or Regeneration, you will get a new Rotter Lineman, and can place him in your reserve box, which is a nice skill in 7's, because it activates when you roll a 12 on the Injury Table, as 7's have a different Injury Table than regular 11's (this is something for Coaches that have teams that have the Masters of Undeath Team Special Rule to keep in mind as well). On the subject of Decay, as far that I could tell, it has no effect in 7s (please let me know where to find it, if it is out there). However for a house rule in my friends 7's night, we treat players with Decay, like if it's a reverse Thick Skull, so on the Injury Table, a roll of 2-7 they are Stunned, 8 they are KO'd, and 9+ they are placed in the Casualty box. Seem fitting and not over powering.
If I should play the devils advocate I'd say that Ben consider Rotspawn to be pretty much a troll in the way that they both are massive roadblocks. I do think they both fullfil the same roll of being used more to be in the way of stoping your opponents advance more than it's being used as a reliable blitzer/removal piece. I do however very much agree with you that the Rotspawn is a lot better. The trolls advantage tho is that it's cheaper and leaving more team value to be distributed to the more active players on your team :)

Okay, I know that I made a comment that Decay has no effect in 7's, unless you are playing League, then it actually does matter a lot, because Decay gives a +1 Modifier to all rolls made against a player with this skill on the Casualty Table, making the rolls on the Injury Table in 7's (for Decay Players) Seriously Hurt on a roll of a 10, and Dead on a roll of 11-12. That why in my friends game night we made the house rule that a 9 is a Badly Hurt for players with Decay, to add that +1 modifier, because 10, 11 and 12, is technically the 7's version of the casualty table. So remember for coaches with or playing against a Rotter, it's no big deal as they only cost 35,000 to replace, but for coaches that have a Tomb Guardian it will be a 100,000gp loss to replace in league.
Why not Rotspawn,Bloaterx2,Pestigor,Rotterx3 + Desperate Measures?

I've run 3 Pestigors and 1 Bloater before. It worked really well, and it was a lot of fun.
Just went back to my nurgle team on the eternal league in bb2. 3 lv7 everyone else besides rotters lv 6. Good times.
Nurgle really need St1 Ag3+ stunty Nurglings added to their roster to increase the fun factor (for players and opponents)
