FYI you can code into the MK7 a setting that displays the voltage of the battery on the MFI so you can know beforehand when the battery is on its way out. I'm not sure of the VCDS method, I used OBD11 to code it in.
@@ilimit NP, for whatever reason these cars seem to eat OEM batteries every 2 years. I think the stock size is too small, time will tell if a larger battery solves the problem.
@@Mo-ug2vf you're lucky it's a pretty common issue on the forums. So far upgrading to a larger battery seems to have worked out, I'm at three+ years so far.
Super cheap but you it's possible to actually unhook disassemble the battery cover from itself and then slip it onto the new battery like an unzipped hoodie. It's far from perfect but it will at least give minimal protection until you fit in an aftermarket larger battery cover. I did this when I upgaded to a H6 size battery and was able to slip the battery cover back on as best as i could
Hi. Awesome video! Perfect! You got a new sub! I’m thinking about to made a similar video in Portuguese on my Brazilian channel, my battery is about to die. Just double checking, this battery size is the biggest one, witch will fit on oem battery tray, right?
Hey Dave! I went with the Duracell because it was decently priced vs the other performance battery within the same spec. The coding, I actually got from the forum Guru. I left a link in the description!
Good to hear from you, Edwin - I wanted a higher cranking amp and cold weather resistance, especially during our northeastern winters. I also have two dash cameras which I leave on, and hope this battery will benefit that, while providing a longer lifespan.
@@ilimit only 3.6kg and yes it is expensive, 400 euro. livetime is 3 times longer and you will save fuel because of the short charging time. also your alternator will last longer. in the end you save money. I am driving on the nordschlefe few laps every year, the benefits of less weight are noticeable
@@ilimit no with the aftermarket virtual cockpits you don't need to. you need to remove your current cockpit and replace the motherboard on the aftermarket unit.. its kinda sketchy but you can watch Netflix in your cluster so that's nice too
I cut the far corner off the insulation jacket and it covered pretty well on H6 biggest size battery.
Great video!
Nice! Thanks for the tip

Thanks for the tip! I def need to code that into the car so I will be ready.

Which technology is the Stock battery when installing with OBDeleven?

Hi Jon - Yes that is the biggest battery - as far as I know that can fit the tray. Good luck with your video!
Duracell battery will be awesome! What is the programming of the system??
🤔🤔🤔 I wanna try it too !

What's the benefit to a larger battery? Better cold start?

changed my to LiFePO4, charges much faster and saves weight. had no problems in two years. will never use conventional batteries in my cars again
Nice! How much more light weight are they? It's probably much more expensive right?

Yup they also have a larger sleeve actually but I just picked up this cover for a even cleaner look, imo.
