    My brother has an 82' SC while I have a 997.2 like yours. Both are fun, but very different. The SC is a little more special and raw but the 997.2 worries me a little less.
    I LOVED the clutch and steering in the SC but I really disliked the shifter...
    I also feel a little safer in the 997.2.
    Sport Chrono is necessity for first gen PDK, its pretty slow otherwise. The update from the dealer also slowed it a bit, but its less jarring.
    I'm very glad you enjoy the 997.

      I thought I replied already, but I can’t find it. Lol. So if you’ve read this already, disregard! I really appreciate the first hand insight and feedback on comparing the two. I’m super happy with the car I decided on, but one day I’d still like to get an old air cooled car… But maybe not while I depend on it as my primary mode of transportation across five states in around 20 to 30,000 miles per year😬😬😬

    Just got mine! Still haven’t sold the 996, hopefully soon. My 997.2 is a manual. Very happy with it!. Drove it 1350 miles from the dealership in Houston.

      I saw that in the Facebook group! Very nice. I love making a road trip of taking delivery of a new car.

    Congratulations! Beautiful car. Keep posting. Sad to not have you in the 996 duck tail camp anymore but you got a lovely upgrade there.

      Thank you! Maybe this one needs a ducktail🤔

    I use the PDK shifter in the console which is more fun. Don't be afraid to put miles on you 997.2. I have 122K & it still have lots of power. Upgraded the axels & suspension feels like new

    • @motorsandmeats88
      @motorsandmeats88  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Tell me more about your axle upgrade

    • @jaunenito
      @jaunenito ปีที่แล้ว

      @@motorsandmeats88 The upgrade was to the rear shocks. Just needed to replace the axels (right front was leaking). 4Ss seems to have more wear on front axels

      If you remember my friend Bradley who has the black 996 with muffler deletes; he and I are going to do a side by side comparison video. Ought to be good!

    Congratulations!!! What a gorgeous beaty! 2009 is brand new compared to my 1999 996. Looking forward to seeing you working and upgrading this one. I am still going to the pains of incidental repairs by the mechanic on mine. Windshield pump not working, ignition getting still stuck even after replacing the cheap switch etc. Anyways, enjoy!

    Congrats on the car, i think the 997 is sadly the last puristic 911! I just found your channel. 1000 Subs soon, keep up! Weekly videos will be the deal for you.
    Greetings from Germany.

    Beautiful car. Great intro! I wish I would have gotten sports chrono, but I now have GIAC tuned ECU so it's all good 😁 I love having PASM.

  • @BeePee1503

    Congratulations Michael, so friggin happy for you! You have picked the greatest generation Porsches (unbiased opinion of course lol) last one with analog everything and before Porsche got Audified. Also, the PDK is going to be a bit slow in normal mode but near instantaneous in sports and light speed in sports plus.

    • @motorsandmeats88
      @motorsandmeats88  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! I’ve done close to 600 miles so far and am quickly getting used to the different settings. Today, I was picking up the kids from school, talking on the phone, and almost forgot I was in a 911 because of how refined the normal mode is. But then… backroads called for sport mode and manual with the paddle shifters🔥🔥🔥

    Congrats!! Perfect model to get (I’m a little biased)! So first order is the steering wheels with paddles. Then all the carbon fiber we can find, right? 😂. Enjoy!! Looking forward to the 997 content!

      @motorsandmeats88  ปีที่แล้ว
