Thanks for the tip tips. I was going to get the Eastwood but Fter seeing this I'm going SEM. Coated the outside of my frame and boxed it in & this will be the final step. Great help & thanks so much!
Thanks for that bit of info brother. Getting ready to coat my rockers. That Russ knows his stuff. Thanks for all the good info you post. It is very helpful.
Did you do this before you sprayed the epoxy or after? I'm assuming it is a type of acid? And the SPI doesnt like acid. Just curious because I have some weld inside a frame rail I can't get to with the paint gun.
Dodgeman7979 spi doesn’t want you using acid under their epoxy , because of adhesion issues , but I’m not afraid to spray it on top of cured epoxy , Eastwood also makes a product that doesn’t have acid in it that is a rust preventative think it has zinc for the coating if you are just covering welds or bare metal and not trying to “ convert “ rust .
Just to be clear, you prefer the Eastwood coating to the SEM coating? I've got the Eastwood coating and wand but agree that the SEM fogger tip appears to have superior distribution. Also, where'd you order the SEM wand from? Great stuff! Thanks!
Eric Pommerer when I was looking and reading about sem's product I was under the impression that it was a corrosion protection not a rust " killer " so to me it looked like a different product than I was after as I need something that sprays on existing rust and encapsulates and kills it . That's the only reason I use the Eastwoods stuff , I would think anything sem makes would be superior to Eastwoods.
Hey Man, Just FYI. I got two SEM wands shipped from Summit Racing for ~$18 including shipping. Can't wait to try them out. Thanks again for everything.
I think the new one will work perfect. Thanks for the shout out, but it wasn't I. We were talking about it though. I did just order it. Great tip on the cleaning solution. Looks like a trip to Walmart in my future.
I have two of SEM. Bough them at "Welle auto supply" here in MN. Issue is they may get plugged. Just yesterday I had to put one in mineral spirit but it get unclogged. I used it for "CrC marine rust protector" and it is actually Cosmoline and it get plugged after it. Btw SEM is here only 5$ and at internet is 4$ at one place. Sem is mist because it has at top 4 lines not dots. I hope Sem guys patented that excellent idea. However may be problem depend at kind of paint/oil. Eastwood wand is used for theirs zinc rich "internal frame coating" and I use SAM for Cosmoline wax that is in fact oil at time of spraying. Pro painters use different tips for different kind of paint and oils. However for oil and waxes Sem look like winner. Smart way to test btw.

Wes Perry 👍
The SEM one looks like better coverage for sure. Should work great as long as products are thin enough
Velvethamma yes that's true
Different nozzles for different applications. The fog one isn't getting any product beyond its reach.
Cool, I never used any of those before, I thought it was just some random tube that sprayed any which way
I wonder if they are available in Australia, i'll have to look around. Thanks for showing us this product MrFireman164.
MyChevelleSS396 I bought mine off the internet
