    Thanks, lots of good information here. Also the visuals with the water bottles are great. You might have saved me a lot of trouble down the road.

    Just did my well maintained 14 F150 supercrew rockers, luckily the "factory tape" was still over all the holes. 3 passes down each used entire can. Does spray well, guess ill do my doors and wheel wells to, have to cover half the tip so it only sprays down.

    Nice video! It's been 5 years since you posted it. Are you still using cavity wax? Just curious - I'm about to purchase a new F-250 and I live in the rust belt of Ohio so I want to protect the new one as much as possible.

    Have u ever used this for under hood ??? Concerned about engine bay heat . My exhaust is ceramic coated and U have under hood insulation . My temps should be only moderate .
    Since I just started using it today 1/ does it dry to soft wax ?? ,,2/ used about 3/4---1 can per door 1coat . ??? 3 / what about multiple coats ???

      We use it in hoods, frame rails any place there is a cavity. Including on front end's and engine compartments. Keep in mind that we are using products in a collision repair environment and on newer daily drivers. When it drys it is not hard but stays soft and is somewhat sticky. As far as multiple coats, 3M actually has recommendations for that and they talk about it in this video. th-cam.com/video/fQQj4y8pSxA/w-d-xo.html

    Hello I noticed there is no more 3m Rust Fighter with either of those products (3m cavity wax or Transtar flexible undercoating) replace the "healing" effect of 3m Rust fighter?

    • @robwagnerautobody7707
      @robwagnerautobody7707  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      We haven't used Rust Fighter since the Cavity Wax Plus came out around the time of this video. I really can't comment on any other type of product, but I'm assuming the healing effect you are referring to would be the product's ability to wick and flow out. 3M has a couple of videos on their TH-cam channel where they talk about this.

    Could a person use this for long term Firearm storage, or how hard would it be to clean out, to safely operate that Firearm after brought out of storage?

    • @robwagnerautobody7707
      @robwagnerautobody7707  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Interesting thought. I don't know if I would personally try it and would probably stick to something designed for that specific purpose. Put I would imagine it would do just as good of a job as regular old cosmoline.

    • @ejdprice
      @ejdprice 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@robwagnerautobody7707 , For some reason, Cosmoline is expensive and I don't know if cosmoline can be heated to dip parts in, I think it must be smeared on, to where this stuff could be applied with a lighter sprayed on film.

    • @robwagnerautobody7707
      @robwagnerautobody7707  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely! We use them constantly and usually when we replace them it is because our techs may have cut them to make custom sizes etc.

    Can cavity wax be applied inside the trunk of a car at the press seams thats never been taken apart? My 2017 Ford Taurus SHO seems to have corrosion starting and was hoping to stop and/or slow down the rust. Its factory paint and its starting to flake and rust.

    • @89broncoeddiebauer
      @89broncoeddiebauer 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      And to add, from what I've gathered, the spoiler that bolts to the trunk is where water is getting inside the inner panel of the trunk.

    • @robwagnerautobody7707
      @robwagnerautobody7707  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@89broncoeddiebauer if you go on the 3M Collision Repair TH-cam channel they should have some videos that show the wicking ability of the product to creep between seams. However, if you are getting water in the trunk you need to address that issue first.
