People are saying that Barry wasn’t vibrating at the end because it’s from our perspective, from past Barry’s perspective maybe it looked like he was vibrating because he was so fast?
More likely there are changes which can occur in the timeline that don’t matter as long as they result in the same outcome. Barry just didn’t remember that he was phasing when he first came to the past 9 years ago so he didn’t, but he remembered the warning to not interfere
i imagine it was cause they didn’t wanna set a “final” costume in season 1 otherwise the end of the show suit would’ve already been shown and then they couldn’t change it unless they retcon it which would be worse so they just showed him vibrating

I’m glad Eric understands how the timelines work. It gets kind of confusing after a while, especially with the OG Flash not existing anymore. This was a great episode, seeing Barry finally able to live through that night, but instead of being rash and possibly messing things up like in the past seasons, he’s calm, focused, and does everything right. Hopefully the rest of the season can keep up this quality!
Hate to burst your bubble but he doesn't - this episode is a total retcon. In the Original Timeline Eobard goes back in time chased by Barry during a 2024 Crisis. Eobard kills Nora creating the Season 1 Timeline. However, they seem to have retconned it to where after the Crisis we see in S6, OG Barry never followed OG Eobard back to that night therefore S9 Barry had to take his place in order to keep the timeline in place. The Speedforce makes sure people still fulfill there purpose in the Timeline. So even though OG Barry would be erased after Season 1, the event of his saving his younger self will always happen despite him being erased. However, like I said they retconned it.Timeline. @@jeremymorris345 you are absolutely correct. There are things they missed and a few plot holes when they did this full circle moment. But at least they tried. I enjoyed. Better than the cringy crap they’ve given us in the last 3-4 years
@@jeremymorris345 Fair enough, so basically Eobard created a new time loop by killing Barry’s mother, and Barry just closed that loop by replacing his original timeline self if I get what you’re saying. Though I guess now we don’t know how or why Barry and Eobard were brought back to 2000. We can assume it’s Cobalt Blue related and they were of course needed to keep that fixed point in tact, but hopefully we find out more as we get closer the the finale.
The score during this episode was PHENOMENAL too. Did they get a new composer? It sounded so beautiful all throughout, so elegant and classy, like a film.
no i think blake neely and nathaniel blume just finally have a reason to produce quality stuff again. nothing during the past couple seasons has been worth their peak and i don’t blame them for the dip in the score’s quality.
In the comics Malcolm Thawne was Barry's identical twin that was given to the Thawne family to cover up a medical blunder by the doctor during delivery that caused the death of the Thawne's son, while Barry's mom was told that Barry's twin brother was stillborn. I wonder if in the show they've instead made Malcolm Gilmore the twin of Eddie Thawne who was raised by a different family. Gilmore is actually the surname of the doctor that switched Malcolm for a dead baby and gave him to the Thawne family in the comic.
That moment Aaron's eyes light up as he realises what day in the timeline we are in is pure gold and then being swiftly followed by Eric realising it was so hype and exaclty why I have come back to this channel every day for years. They are true fans of the shows they watch and so natural when watching them. This episode gave me some hope for the final few episodes of the show.
22:41 Grant is and will always be the flash. That dialogue almost made me cry 😢 considering everything Barry has been through. This show has pissed me off over the last 3-4 years. But I’m glad we got this.
Honestly it had some low point’s but this is the flash and always will be probably, tbh i dont see any flash taking his place as this show almost a decade old and it’s unlikely they will keep on a good flash actor but im still gonna watch the flash movie coming out for flashpoint trying to ignore the horrible shit
"But Fate , It's tricky isn't it ... I come here to destroy you , then to get home I have to be the one who creates you."- Eobard Thawne as Harrison Wells back in season 1 Flashback ....
The reason it was so good is that it had that season 1&2 feeling. The story is a bit more grounded and centered around Barry not 10 more useless characters. Make the drama more interesting and grounded so CGI muck is no needed. Let it be personal and not another cheesy villain of the week. Look at what Superman and Lois are doing !!
@DerZuschauer How do you know they aren't in 2024 right now lol ? Hell, its 2023 in real world, you don't think they possibly ahead by 1 yr ? Iris stomach is now wayyy big from last episode - time jump. Don't forget, vanishing b4 his daughter birth was part of the future and it just happened ....

Always with the fixed point of Nora being killed, it always gets to me. Seeing Henry and Nora being happy together Also I love the OG Reverse Flash suit!
one of the best and emotional episodes in the show Matt as reverse flash is incredible to watch when Nora said the flashback moment he’s just like my father was so emotional and the scene in the hospital when Barry talks to them and the same music was playing from 1x23 Nora death scene so many tears in this episode loved it hope the last 3 episodes continue on this level also Cobalt Blue is here!
the fact Eric Wallace co-wrote and directed this episode is crazy. despite my deserved criticism towards him, I will give credit where credit is due. Eric Wallace wrote his ass off this episode and the result was one of the best Flash episodes ever and THE most satisfying endings to an episode the show's entirety.
It says Malcolm Gilmore. In the comics he's Malcolm thawne. Gilmore is the name of the doctor that switched Malcolm for a dead baby and gave him to the thawne family. He was born Barry's twin and they told Nora that the twin died and gave the baby to the mother of the baby that actually died. This is Cobalts background. It could be an alternate universe, or it could be the same world with changes due to the crisis.
man it feels good to enjoy a flash episode again. these past 2 have been so fun. reminds me of when the arrowverse first started. sad to see it ending.
There's a youtube video out there called "What really happened that night Final version". It cuts together everything that goes on. Would love to see you guys do a quick reaction to that.
My god Grant was SO good in this episode. Those moments with his parents actually gave me a lump in my throat when you see how heavy Barry’s heart gets
I really hope they stick the landing with these last few episodes. The fans and the people behind the scenes deserve an amazing last impression. So far it's doing that job.
I'm pretty sure Rick Cosnett is playing Malcolm Thawne, that's who Cobalt Blue is in the comics. Edit:After they zoomed in on the ID Badge, it apparently says Malcolm Gilmore. In the comics when Malcom was born he was stolen from the Allen family by a doctor named Dr. Gilmore and later was raised by the Thawne family (Eddie's Parents)
it is great to see matt's eobard, john wesley ship as henry allen, nora back again this episode was great and so emotional glad they are wrapping all the plot points up.
These are the 2 separate timelines we saw of the night Nora Allen was murdered. I might have got 1 or2 things wrong but I think it's fairly accurate. March 18, 2000 - Original Timeline (pre-Flashpoint, pre-Crisis) In 2024, a fight between the original timeline Flash (the version of Barry that became the Flash in 2020 and has both living parents) and Reverse Flash occurs under Red Skies, Thawne learns Barry’s identity and plans to kill him as a child. The two speedsters fight and disappear in an “explosion of light” The “explosion of light” was actually a dimensional rift opening between 2024 and 2000. Thawne travels back to March 18, 2000, and Barry follows Reverse Flash and Flash tackle each other into the house and fight. An 11-year-old Barry wakes up to screaming and the sound of lightning. He exits his room and sees his mother, Nora Allen, surrounded by red and yellow lightning in the living room. 2013 Flash (S1 Barry) breaks the dimensional barrier and travels back to March 18, 2000, appearing in his childhood bedroom. 2013 Flash opens the door and sees his mother. As he is about to intervene, the original timeline Flash (2024 Barry) sees him and tells him not to. Thawne sees young Barry and makes a move on him. 2024 Barry sees this and grabs his younger self before Thawne can reach him, taking him out of the house. Thawne, angered that he failed. Grabs a Knife and stabs Nora Allen with the intention of creating a tragedy so life-altering that Barry never grows up to become the Flash. 2013 Flash listens to the original timeline Flash and closes the door, letting Thawne stab Nora Allen. After the death of his mother in the past, the original timeline Flash is wiped from existence (either disappearing or electing to sacrifice himself to stop the 2024 crisis before the timeline catches up to him) Thawne runs out of the house and tries to open a breach back to his time, roughly 2 decades from this point, to discover that he has lost his speed and connection to the speed force. S1 Barry enters the living room and speaks to his Mom one more time before she dies The murder of Barry’s mother creates a paradox for Thawne. Without the Flash, Thawne never becomes obsessed with speed. Without speed, Thawne never travels back in time to kill Barry’s mom, creating an endless paradoxical loop. Thawne, trapped in the past, assumes the identity of Harrison Wells to orchestrate the creation of the Flash so he can use his speed to return himself to the future and to allow 2013 Barry to return to the night his mother died and save her. March 18, 2000 - Original Timeline (post-Flashpoint, post-Crisis) S9 Flash (2023) is teleported to March 18, 2000, by a then-unknown force. S9 Flash encounters his parents in the past and is forced into interacting with them by a streak of lighting knocking him unconscious. After spending the day with his parents, S9 Flash runs to a secluded area, overcome with grief, where he encounters the Reverse Flash. The Reverse Flash tells Barry that he didn’t choose to come here but, by a stroke of fate, he was brought here to kill Barry as a child. Barry returns to Nora and Henry Allen one last time to speak to them and get closure. After a fight with a then-unknown force, Barry encounters Thawne on a neighborhood street. Barry attempts to give Thawne one final chance to change for the better, but Thawne laughs in Barry’s face and runs off to Barry’s childhood home to kill him as a child. Barry knows what he needs to do and takes off after him. Reverse Flash and Flash tackle each other into the house and fight. As he is about to intervene, S9 Flash sees him and tells him not to intervene. 2014 Flash (S2) runs back to March 18, 2000 after defeating Zoom, overcome with grief from losing his father. Thawne sees young Barry and makes a move on him. S9 Barry sees this and grabs his younger self before Thawne can reach him, taking him out of the house Thawne grabs a knife and lunges at Nora Allen, however S2 Flash intervenes and prevents Thawne from killing his mother 2013 (S1) Barry reopens the door, seeing his mother alive, and disappears from the timeline. After the events of 3x01, S3 Flash frees Thawne from his hidden prison cell and the two of them travel back to March 18, 2000 for Thawne to finish the job. After knocking out Thawne, S2 Barry looks up to see Thawne in front of him, he looks down and the Thawne he knocked out is gone. The S2 Barry disappears shortly after. Thawne grabs the knife and stabs Nora Allen Thawne runs out of the house and tries to open a breach back to his time, roughly 2 decades from this point, to discover that he has lost his speed and connection to the speed force. S9 Barry approaches Thawne and speaks to him S1 Barry reappears back into the timeline, enters the living room, and speaks to his mom one more time before she dies The murder of Barry’s mother creates a paradox for Thawne. Without the Flash, Thawne never becomes obsessed with speed. Without speed, Thawne never travels back in time to kill Barry’s mom, creating an endless paradoxical loop. After speaking with Thawne, S9 Barry disappears once more, unknown where (as of 9x10) Thawne, trapped in the past, assumes the identity of Harrison Wells to orchestrate the creation of the Flash so he can use his speed to return himself to the future and to allow 2013 Barry to return to the night his mother died and save her. So in total, The original timeline had 3 versions of Barry in the house that night (OG Timeline Flash, S1 Flash, Young Barry) and the New Timeline (post-Flashpoint, post-Crisis) had 5 versions of Barry (S9 Flash, S1 Flash, S2 Flash, S3 Flash, Young Barry) S9 Flash replaced 2024 Flash as the one to stop S1 Flash from saving Nora. the timeline we are on began after Nora died and 2024 Flash was erased. My interpretation was that the timeline was in flux up until Crisis. After the Crisis' date was changed, the timeline was altered so the Flash that stopped S1 Barry was S9 Barry. So, in Pre-Crisis S1, Barry saw the 2024 Flash. In Post-Crisis S1, Barry saw the S9 Flash. How's that for "convoluted"?
WAIT ! Hold up im just realising that the whole episode revolves around Nora and Henry helping "Bart" after our Barry leaves saving his younger self, the season 1 goes and talks to Nora... so She at that moment must realise that WAIT?! its Bart as he tells her that its Me BARRY!!
It looked like the name tag said Malcolm Gilmore.....MAYBE he is actually Malcolm Thawne, but he was adopted at birth by a family whose last name is Gilmore
25:57 Not exactly. In the Original Timeline Eobard goes back in time chased by Barry during a 2024 Crisis. Eobard kills Nora creating the Season 1 Timeline. Yeah Eric hit the nail on the head with the 'OG Flash" stuff. The original "future" Barry we saw back in season one no longer exists due to all the timeline changes + Crisis. But as Thawne said, Nora's death is a fixed point and has to be preserved regardless of how many timeline changes occur. Thawne is a time remnant from a timeline that no longer exists and current Barry now takes the place of his OG future self. It's not so much a loop, as a new version of the same events. The timeline is preserved and Barry gains the inner peace he has so desperately been searching for. The circle is complete. As for Eddie, I think we are dealing with a time displaced Eddie who got dropped in the 2040s after the being sucked into singularity at the end of season 1. He lost his memories but the NSF choose him as the next avatar in order to exploit his feelings of regret and jealously he feels towards Barry since he's essentially died for nothing. Barry stole his girl and his life and the NSF is going to use those feelings of resentment to make him the new Avatar.
Literally love how everything comes back for circle Also,Nora believing that S1 Barry is her son from the future totally makes sense now (in Henry & Joe's case:it's kind of confusing but it was just a stranger they had met so they probably forgot)
to clear up confusion, OG timeline barry is gone, he wasn't fighting thawne in the house in this episode, that was our barry, he did exactly the same thing OG timeline barry did.
I remember i started watching blind waves reacts around season 3, and every episode that I feel hype or good I always come back to blind wave to see their reactions, there were a few others when flash peaked around season 2-3 which did reacts, y'all were the only ones who stuck around, the true OGs And it's been such a bumpy ride since and I've been following it weekly since season 3 and I'm so glad you guys kept it too, and we're finally at the end, feels like an end of an era although it's lost the bulk of its fans, great to know we're still around to see it off. Thanks for reacting to flash all these years guys, always felt alone watching this show even when all my friends stopped watching it, and I kept watching it, but y'all kept me company till the end Pretty long comment but yeah, finally we're at the finish line of what used to be a great show
This episode delivered a satisfying conclusion to that thread while also doing a finale that isn’t tied down by any missing plot threads. It was also a pleasure to see Matt lesher again, I love Tom cavanaugh but Matt deserved as much screen time as Tom and he did a great job here. This episode is the best episode through a purely flash episode for the season.
Just some easter egg (i guess i can call it that way), that "Gambi Cleaners" scene in this episode happened in the pilot of The Flash, when he found out he had super speed, really cool the writers remembered about it.
THIS ENTIRE FRICKING EPISODE HAD ME BAWLING. I was so happy they finally connected all the dots and closed the loop of Nora's death story (we've all been waiting since season 1 for this!!!!!). But it's obviously still extremely emotional, this is why Flash's story has always been my favorite and regardless of all the downs this show had, it will always hold a very dear place in my heart. Grant is and will always be my Flash
Because of season one is how I discovered your channel lol I think it's Eddie, he probably was sucked through a vortex leading to a new/different earth or different time in the same earth at the end of season 1 when we thought he died. Lost his memory, then his name was changed when he woke up. Now he's finding out that he's Eddie Thawne and not Malcom.
What’s really cool is that the actor that plays Eddie audition for Barry first time and I always thought that he would be a good Barry but I also love grant so I’m excited that he’s getting to play a speedster after all.
This episode gives me hope. I can't believe how much fun this was. This felt like it was from a bigger better season 1. I cannot wait to see how this culminates. This is incredible. Who the hell is Eddie Thawne?!
It says Malcom Gilmore but I believe this is our Eddie who lost his memory! And sent to future or meena and eobard had a son Malcom /Eddie !!!! Crystal could be Eddie’s conscience
In the comics, Dr. Gilmore is the doctor who stole Malcolm Thawne at birth and reported him as stillborn. Malcolm was the twin brother of Barry Allen which was raised by the Thawne family and later became the supervillain Cobalt Blue, using the Blue Flame talisman.
I think our Barry became the original timeline Flash. He’s the one that fought Thawne now and he’s the one who saved his younger self. And now he’s missing! Looking forward to seeing what they do next episode.

“I know, and this night, tortured me for decades, not anymore. Because today I got to see my parents one last time, *feel* how much they loved me. (This the worst night of your life I know it). And today brought me the peace I’ve been looking for ever since, I have you to thank for that Eobard and I’ll always be grateful” That and the scene before this was my favourite part of the episode. I mean that has quickly become one of my favourite Flash quotes and what a burn towards Eobard. This will go down as one of the best episodes of The Flash. It was just so perfect and very emotional, like Grant’s acting was phenomenal and cements him as the definitive Barry Allen/The Flash outside of the comics imo. Also I’m so happy Matt returned as Thawne, he played him perfectly as well like i think this is his best performance yet. He nails Thawne’s pettiness and evilness.
Totally forgot about Cobalt Blue hints in post-credit scene in the Season 8 finale. Glad we finally get to see a proper arc with a (hopefully) proper ending. Also, Blind Wave totally made me stop watching episode trailers, etc. Just wanted to feel the same emotions, when they do not know what's going to happen. Also, trailers for 40 minutes episodes pretty much always spoil the whole episode. Still bummed when I see spoilers on actors' private IG accounts, but it's rare. Only watching trailers for whole seasons/shows (like in MCU) or for the movies (and sometimes, when I'm not sure, I'm waiting for Blind Wave's reaction, cause if they can watch it, I can watch it too).
I just understood something. Barry stealing Thawne's credit. That was never hubris. It was never about being the hero, it was never about stealing credit. It was always about protecting the fixed point of his mother's death. Because Barry knows that him "stealing credit" is what sets Thawne in motion, which leads to the birth of the Flash. He never had a choice.

Just did a rewatch of season 8 and I just finished the finale and they showed the blue crystal that appeared in this episode in a lab in 2049 while Barry talks about the negative speed force needing to find a new avatar. So maybe Malcolm Gilmore is in 2049 in Joe’s old house because he did move out this season. Maybe they sold it in the 26 year gap.
There is an inconsistency in this episode, I don't know if to tell you about it because I'm bad at English (I use Google translation). But at the end of season 1, when Barry lets Eobard kill his mother, right after he goes to see her and he takes off his mask. Nora is surprised and says to him "you look a lot like my father", and Barry introduces himself saying that he is his son, etc... BUT watching episode 10 of season 9, we see that Nora has saw Barry for quite a while during the day, and at the end of season 1 she is still surprised when she sees him when they have been seeing each other for most of the day. I understand that when they did season 1 they hadn't thought about the script for episode 10 of season 9. But doing this last season, they could have thought about it. Afterwards, it's just a detail, I really liked this episode, which made me nostalgic compared to the first season, it was very moving, especially since we realize that it's soon the end 😭
I believe that was Eddie's doppleganger from another Earth named Malcolm Gilmore since Melanie said his name after Eric and Aaron zoom it from the beginning scene of this past episode. Also, the season 1 finale of the Flash came to full circle when Season 9 Flash told Season 1 Flash not to interfere to prevent alternate timeline.
We still don't know the original Barry who came from the portal to save Barry from the series We may never see it, but now there's a new loop where Barry saves himself and it's not the Barry from the original line like it was at the beginning.
Malcom Gilmore, but Malcom thawne in the comics is a thing, Henry Allen’s mothers maiden name in this show is Garrick, thats how we get jay as a earth variant
Yes I think I do know: i think a mind blowing plot twist would be the fact that THAT Thawne in the after credits is actually Cobalt Blue who looses his memory when the lightning hits him. The fact that there is that file with his picture and all might indicate to him that is is him and he is originally from that time (season 1 time) so after a bit of practice he returns to the season 1 time and just becomes our Eddie Thawne. And I don't know if you remember but in season 1 when Eobard kidnapped Eddie, he told him that they were distant relatives, well I think that Eddie is actually Eobard's father and he learns about his son's plan and decides to kill himself to protect the ones he learnt to love (Iris, Barry, Joe...). Or something like that.
Pretty sure the name on the ID Badge Rick Cosnett's character was holding reads Malcolm Gilmore, as a reference and spin-off of Malcolm Thawne aka Cobalt Blue in the comics
So glad they named him Malcolm!! They are definitely full speed ahead on the Cobalt Blue train 😂 moment I saw the blue flowers and heard the song I knew that was what they were doing 💙 so excited!!!
It's malcolm ( cobalt blue ) in the comics dr.guilmore is the one who gave barry's twin to the thawns i guess in this reality the guilmores adopted him in stead ..
His badge says "Malcolm Gilmore." In the comics, "Malcolm Thawne" was Cobalt Blue. Malcolm Thawne was a twin of Barry Allen. The Thawnes baby was killed accidentally by the doctor during delivery, so he gave Barry's twin to the Thawnes and told the Allens that their twin was stillborn. Gilmore comes from Asa Gilmore, so I'm assuming Malcolm Gilmore is just an amalgamation of the two.
It's not Eddie, it's Malcolm Thawne. In the comics, Malcolm is Barry's twin who was kidnapped at birth and adopted by the Thawne family. It looks like this Malcolm is Eddie's lost twin.
How did they not recognize the running into the van scene was also a homage to the pilot? I really thought they would, but I guess it has been a while since then!

That or Greg just got on there asses about it

True. This episode was a lot smaller but the writing really felt like og flash, just the Barry/thawne parts only ofc.
Reverse Flash carried it. Or better yet. Matt Letscher, that man deserves a whole season as a big bad.
Because they were saving everything for this finale
Barry running into the van is a reference to what he did when he first got his powers
Yes and nora first time too same lol in erased timeline
NO WAY 😱
People are saying that Barry wasn’t vibrating at the end because it’s from our perspective, from past Barry’s perspective maybe it looked like he was vibrating because he was so fast?
More likely there are changes which can occur in the timeline that don’t matter as long as they result in the same outcome. Barry just didn’t remember that he was phasing when he first came to the past 9 years ago so he didn’t, but he remembered the warning to not interfere
i imagine it was cause they didn’t wanna set a “final” costume in season 1 otherwise the end of the show suit would’ve already been shown and then they couldn’t change it unless they retcon it which would be worse so they just showed him vibrating
I hate this theory so god damn much
I think why future barry was blurred in season 1 is that they didn't know what the final suit looked yet.
@@Xavier-sl7hn it was good only if we delete seasons 5, 7 and 8, their time travel stuff doesn't make any sense anymore.
the whole main timeline has changed as the Barry from the future who saved his younger version out in season 1, the flash that saved his younger version was from a timeline where both of his parents were alive, so that makes the show even more incoherent and brings a lot of confusion, especially the obsession they have killed Nora because it's supposedly a fixed point except she's alive in the main timeline (in the one where the reverse comes), and again they added new elements and it's going to turn everything upside down, because of this flash had a conversation with reverse when he didn't get it in season 1 so the reverse in this episode has info that his version from season 1 never got, so......

@@benimpanu4405 season 8 was ok
She directed the episode, she did not write it. Big difference
The score during this episode was PHENOMENAL too. Did they get a new composer? It sounded so beautiful all throughout, so elegant and classy, like a film.
Right?!
It’s always been Blake Neely. But they reused a lot of the music from early seasons
it hurts me to see that Blake Neely is so slept on
No it was still Neely he just finally decided to bring back barry's Moif and he loves to reuses soundtracks too.
no i think blake neely and nathaniel blume just finally have a reason to produce quality stuff again. nothing during the past couple seasons has been worth their peak and i don’t blame them for the dip in the score’s quality.
I loved how Barry’s first reaction to being stuck in the past was wtf did I mess up this time😂😂
The first name of this version of Eddie is Malcolm. Just like how in the comics cobalt blue’s name was Malcolm Thawne.
@@thomaswedge42 I was thinking the same, but he seems to be living in a similar house to Joe and Cecile’s old house. Is this slightly in the future?

March 18, 2000 - Original Timeline (pre-Flashpoint, pre-Crisis)
In 2024, a fight between the original timeline Flash (the version of Barry that became the Flash in 2020 and has both living parents) and Reverse Flash occurs under Red Skies, Thawne learns Barry’s identity and plans to kill him as a child. The two speedsters fight and disappear in an “explosion of light”
The “explosion of light” was actually a dimensional rift opening between 2024 and 2000. Thawne travels back to March 18, 2000, and Barry follows
Reverse Flash and Flash tackle each other into the house and fight.
After the death of his mother in the past, the original timeline Flash is wiped from existence (either disappearing or electing to sacrifice himself to stop the 2024 crisis before the timeline catches up to him)
Thawne runs out of the house and tries to open a breach back to his time, roughly 2 decades from this point, to discover that he has lost his speed and connection to the speed force.
S1 Barry enters the living room and speaks to his Mom one more time before she dies
The murder of Barry’s mother creates a paradox for Thawne.
March 18, 2000 - Original Timeline (post-Flashpoint, post-Crisis)
S9 Flash (2023) is teleported to March 18, 2000, by a then-unknown force.
As he is about to intervene, S9 Flash sees him and tells him not to intervene.
2014 Flash (S2) runs back to March 18, 2000 after defeating Zoom, overcome with grief from losing his father.
Thawne sees young Barry and makes a move on him. S9 Barry sees this and grabs his younger self before Thawne can reach him, taking him out of the house
Thawne grabs a knife and lunges at Nora Allen, however S2 Flash intervenes and prevents Thawne from killing his mother
2013 (S1) Barry reopens the door, seeing his mother alive, and disappears from the timeline.
Thawne grabs the knife and stabs Nora Allen
Thawne runs out of the house and tries to open a breach back to his time, roughly 2 decades from this point, to discover that he has lost his speed and connection to the speed force.
S9 Barry approaches Thawne and speaks to him
S1 Barry reappears back into the timeline, enters the living room, and speaks to his mom one more time before she dies
The murder of Barry’s mother creates a paradox for Thawne. Without the Flash, Thawne never becomes obsessed with speed. Without speed, Thawne never travels back in time to kill Barry’s mom, creating an endless paradoxical loop.
After speaking with Thawne, S9 Barry disappears once more, unknown where (as of 9x10)
Thawne, trapped in the past, assumes the identity of Harrison Wells to orchestrate the creation of the Flash so he can use his speed to return himself to the future and to allow 2013 Barry to return to the night his mother died and save her.
So in total, The original timeline had 3 versions of Barry in the house that night (OG Timeline Flash, S1 Flash, Young Barry) and the New Timeline (post-Flashpoint, post-Crisis) had 5 versions of Barry (S9 Flash, S1 Flash, S2 Flash, S3 Flash, Young Barry)
S9 Flash replaced 2024 Flash as the one to stop S1 Flash from saving Nora. the timeline we are on began after Nora died and 2024 Flash was erased.

Famous last words..
@@Nativewolf I was extremely disappointed 😭
for the first time in a very long time, am i actually excited to see the next episode of the flash.
Barry Allen: "Like I told you from the beginning, I am the Future Flash."
Literally love how everything comes back for circle
Also,Nora believing that S1 Barry is her son from the future totally makes sense now (in Henry & Joe's case:it's kind of confusing but it was just a stranger they had met so they probably forgot)
“Idk why I bother wearing makeup” I expected no other first line after this episode 😂😂
to clear up confusion, OG timeline barry is gone, he wasn't fighting thawne in the house in this episode, that was our barry, he did exactly the same thing OG timeline barry did.

This episode was near perfect for me. Hopefully it stays to this level or more
This episode delivered a satisfying conclusion to that thread while also doing a finale that isn’t tied down by any missing plot threads. It was also a pleasure to see Matt lesher again, I love Tom cavanaugh but Matt deserved as much screen time as Tom and he did a great job here. This episode is the best episode through a purely flash episode for the season.

@@shahanahsan05 after season 7 is when I really got tired of Tom’s RF, they totally took him over the top in season 8 for sure
Matt’s Reverse Flash was always superior to me.
Because of season one is how I discovered your channel lol
I think it's Eddie, he probably was sucked through a vortex leading to a new/different earth or different time in the same earth at the end of season 1 when we thought he died.
This is probably my favorite episode in the entire show
This episode gives me hope.
This was such a great episode. The intro reminded me of Stargirl; there’s a Zatana Easter egg, the name of the restaurant is Zatara (Zatanas dad)
They're Italian so it wouldn't surprise me if her grandparents owned a restaurant.
23:27 i'm surprised the neighbors don't walk out and say "will you shut the hell up? People are trying to sleep."
I think our Barry became the original timeline Flash. He’s the one that fought Thawne now and he’s the one who saved his younger self. And now he’s missing! Looking forward to seeing what they do next episode.

Yes! Last episode and this one, I lost all hope aftwr most of this season, but it, is, back! Going out with a bang!
I feel like it was just yesterday that Barry was learning to throw Lightning from Jay (who was actually zoom) and now he can do it like nothing 🥹
“I know, and this night, tortured me for decades, not anymore. Because today I got to see my parents one last time, *feel* how much they loved me. (This the worst night of your life I know it). And today brought me the peace I’ve been looking for ever since, I have you to thank for that Eobard and I’ll always be grateful”
That and the scene before this was my favourite part of the episode.
When Joe and Barry fight reminds me of the one that happened in Smallville when Johnathan Kent fought against a possessed Clark Kent
such a fantastic episode , truly one of the best from eric Wallace
He never had a choice.
it was good only if we delete seasons 5, 7 and 8, their time travel stuff doesn't make any sense anymore.
the whole main timeline has changed as the Barry from the future who saved his younger version out in season 1, the flash that saved his younger version was from a timeline where both of his parents were alive, so that makes the show even more incoherent and brings a lot of confusion, especially the obsession they have killed Nora because it's supposedly a fixed point except she's alive in the main timeline (in the one where the reverse comes), and again they added new elements and it's going to turn everything upside down, because of this flash had a conversation with reverse when he didn't get it in season 1 so the reverse in this episode has info that his version from season 1 never got, so......
They have to stop with this fixed point thing they alter time so much that looking for consistency or a no hit point is ridiculous remember they took zoom out of his timeline in season 5 so they screwed up once moreover the story and not to mention that Nora (Barry's daughter and not the mother) herself modified the past, and therefore the justification of the fixed point that we cannot alternate makes no sense 😂😂😂, bad writing that comes straight from comics, but if we remove seasons 5 7 and 8 it will be perfect and surely the best episode of the series (top 5).
was nice to see some old footage of logan williams as young barry, hope hes resting in peace
Barry landing in the truck again was the BEST.
Because 1x23 and 9x10 take place in different multiverses/timelines, so this was one of the changes.
We still don't know the original Barry who came from the portal to save Barry from the series
We may never see it, but now there's a new loop where Barry saves himself and it's not the Barry from the original line like it was at the beginning.
I completely missed Rachel Rosso's name. No wonder they focused on her so much
The ID badge says his name is Malcolm Gilmore
Malcom Gilmore, but Malcom thawne in the comics is a thing, Henry Allen’s mothers maiden name in this show is Garrick, thats how we get jay as a earth variant
that was great episode! also Eric and Aaron looking close at the screen to read the name XD
And i was here! since season 1 in 2015 not 2014 😉
Definitely the best episode of The Flash in the final season! 👏🔥
Cobalt Blue is supposed to be Barry’s twin that was adopted by the Thawne family, but since he doesn’t hav a twin…
These last 2 episodes have restored my faith in the show, I hope they continue this run until the end with this final arc⚡️
Pretty sure the name on the ID Badge Rick Cosnett's character was holding reads Malcolm Gilmore, as a reference and spin-off of Malcolm Thawne aka Cobalt Blue in the comics
10:25 I was legit confused why that girl was holding a rumba, before I remembered cd players were a thing
So glad they named him Malcolm!! They are definitely full speed ahead on the Cobalt Blue train 😂 moment I saw the blue flowers and heard the song I knew that was what they were doing 💙 so excited!!!
Gambi owned a TAILORING business, but I guess back in 2000 it was a chain of dry cleaners😂
He was like an Italian “George Jefferson”😂
ahhh i was waiting for this (watched your reaction to 1x23 in preparation!)
Arguably one of the greatest episodes from the entire series.
It's malcolm ( cobalt blue ) in the comics dr.guilmore is the one who gave barry's twin to the thawns i guess in this reality the guilmores adopted him in stead ..
Perhaps instead of being Barry’s twin like in the comics he is Eddie’s twin
@@jacobseeley2753 exactly
I waited all day for this reaction it's 3am now and I've made the decision to watch it now instead of tomorrow, I won't regret this
Did anyone else catch Henry mention Zatara’s italian restaurant?? That was great
Malcolm Gilmore is Cobalt Blue in the comics book the twin brother to Barry Allen
I found Blind Wave in Flash season 1 on the old channel!
It's not Eddie Thawne it's Eobard Thawne young when there was power in the year 2151
13:14 the maniacal laugh from Eric was great. I did the same thing when I watched this. 👌🏾💀
The restaurant they were in was called "Zatara's" I like that little easter egg.
It's not Eddie, it's Malcolm Thawne. In the comics, Malcolm is Barry's twin who was kidnapped at birth and adopted by the Thawne family. It looks like this Malcolm is Eddie's lost twin.
Kidnapped by dr.guilmore , maybe in this reality the guilmores adopted him in stead of giving him to the thawnes
How did they not recognize the running into the van scene was also a homage to the pilot? I really thought they would, but I guess it has been a while since then!
They watch a lot of shows. Also the flash hasn’t been good lately, so what they picked up on is fair
So great to have these type of episodes back!
Just seen this episode, wtf this felt like old flash again. HYPE!
