I bought a '02 new. She is reliable, fast, and comfortable everyday for 22 years. Maintenance cost has been great, last year the only problem was new turn signal bulb= $85 installed. LS1 auto 4 me with borla exhaust.
First car with the Legendary LS1 too .......think ahead about 40 years. If it's a low mile C5 with an original engine. Hopefully it will be worth a lot in future.
This will be my next car bro! Had one about 6 years ago and worst decision was getting rid of it. I’m getting exactly what you have. Spiral grey, ‘03 (50th anniversary) And going to make it a sexy road machine.
my family had a 50th anniversary when I was growing up, it was friggen awesome... BUT even though the car was babied and kept in flawless dealer serviced condition, it still had engine issues and odds and ends go wrong with it. And given the fact its transmission is where the rear axle would be in most rwd cars,, not exactly an easy thing to work on unless you have a shop. GM had to pull the engine more than once.
I like how they look like some "Phase 1 Prototype" of the magnificent C6, adds unpredicted coolness now we've got the utterly vulgar C7 that doesn't stand the test of time at all.
Out of the V8's offered by the big 3 domestic auto makers, I have always loved the LS sound the best when cammed. Currently on the hunt for a 2003 or 2004 navy blue metallic with peanut butter convertible top and interior and a manual transmission. With as low mileage as I can find for a decent price.
I’ve been looking for over a year and have yet to find anything decent near the 10k range . Must be location dependent because in Tampa they’re 15k+ for anything lower than 150k miles
My neighbor has a Cobra replica and I know exactly when the local car meetup begins on Wednesday evenings. There's a ricer guy with some loud ass hunk of crap who blasts by our house, too. The V8 sounds nice, but just realize not everyone likes your noise.
Why does this guy advertising C5 corvettes (which I already know is a great performance value) keep showing up in my recommended? I'll probably never buy one lol. Not my style in the slightest. But if I had to pick one it'd have to be yellow lol.
For the price u can't deny the logic ... overproduced but for good reason it was a very good version of the car but nit many people keep cars like this long term they typically lease em or sell and upgrade every few years so we get lucky and find em used and cheap years later
I love my 2003 C5 50th Anniversary. What I don't love is all the oil it leaves on my garage floor. Its rear main seal is leaking a lot. The local garage wants $1700 to replace the rear main seal. 8-(
C5 is my dream car and I want to mess with people by putting a Mazda badge on the front to make people think it’s a rx-7 and then see them look so stupid after they realize that it’s a corvette
I always hear reliable then I hear 👂 spending 500 dollars at the mechanics shop over and over again I sure two 2000 dollar e-bikes And they’re not cheap…lol So when people say cheap I know it’s expensive… A corvette is not cheap…lol They’re cheaper than some other cars and break less often than others But they all break and they all cost time and money to fix…which isn’t cheap…no matter where ya live
I got a 1995 trans am with a lt1 big cam all you gotta do is get a camaro or corvette like that or firebird or trans am get a big cam and it will sound like that lol
No, technically faster but way less fun. LS1 motors are awesome and cheap to maintain. Had a 01 SS, got it to put out around 475. So much Fun!!!!!! $4 a gallon though😢😢😢😢😢😂😂😂
My auto trans blew a year after owning it. Ending up getting up upgrading the trans with a good tourqe converter. From what I heard auto trans on does cars are weak.
Just a heads up. I just spent 2900 on a new clutch and torque tube in my C6 Z06. And an additional 1300 on rear tires 325/30/R19. They can be brutally expensive
That aint true. Definitely not 10k cars but a nice one will run you 14-16k. I have 6-7 C5s in my facebook marketplace saved tab that are all under 15k, under 100k miles, all manuals, all clean title.
The 4th reason to get a C5 is because of how they look! The shape is timeless!
Do you like the c5z or c5 coupe better?

Shhhh, stop telling people I need my kids to get old before I get one.
Doesn’t rust, stiff chassis, handles a lot of power, engine runs 250-300k miles on the reg….
Also they get like 28 mpg stock on the highway

C6 for me
Same here. C6 ZR-1, Z-06, Callaway, etc.
Although the C4 is the best looking Vette of all time in my opinion..
If you hit the wall at a track day its rubbermaid plastic to replace
Can’t get enough of the CHOP
One of my most favourite cars, it won’t like the rain
Sweet home Alabama, lord I'm coming home to you.
Not to mention you can build an absolute f*cking track weapon out of one too.
I like the C5 Corvette but the interiors on those cars are dreadful, cheap plasticky, just awful. The C6 is a far better interior and better car
Easy just swap interiors
Now I’m going to facebook marketplace🙄😂
This will be my next car bro! Had one about 6 years ago and worst decision was getting rid of it. I’m getting exactly what you have. Spiral grey, ‘03 (50th anniversary) And going to make it a sexy road machine.

Get a Trans Am instead. WAY Cooler and cheaper, PLUS same drive train as the vettski

I think they’re beautiful and ik they’re fast asf but personally I think I’d rather have a 2007-2014 Shelby Cobra GT500
Number one is a straight up lie I got one for 11k nothing but problems
A great one wouldn’t be 11K in todays market, and let me get yours was between 97-00 years.
I love them but there's not as many manuals for sale as the c6

It’s all good and dandy till you need to take apart half the car to change the transmission 😭 (yes I’m exaggerating but it’s annoying still)

4th reason: the damn insurance is high.5th reason: if you crash, you don't have to buy a coffin.
I'll tell you why not to buy one.
Pcm issues, ebcm issues, TCS issues.
All repairable 2002-2004 years only
Please explain these issues in english please
I don’t remember last time I saw a C5 for $10k. They’re $20+ now.
I bought mine for $13,000 3 months ago in near perfect condition for its age
I wanna get it as my first car the problem is I can’t drive one on my ps bc it’s a v8
The only reason i havent bought one yet is because for an extra $5k - $10k you can get a c6 or c5 z06

I don't like how the rear looks, too big and boxy
