When watching the video and reading the comments, I can’t help but feel like I’m the only one hyped and happy for what’s coming. Then I came to this video, and realized I’m not alone. Thanks for bringing some happiness and hope, Broman.
It’s ok to feel that way but don’t downplay the way others feel pls people have the right to be angry about the state the game is in but I’m happy your enjoying!
I got literal chills watching this because I’ve been here since the very beginning and so there’s a lot of emotions going through me. Seeing Cayde 6 made me happy because I miss the humor he provided
I was pretty meh at the start. Honestly, still pretty meh. While some where meme'ing with "The Final Scam" and "The Final Dollar" and stuff, I was kinda excited about the changes coming, but I also know to actions speak louder, and after everything Bungie's done alot of action is needed. I think most people feel that way right now as well, it's only a vocal minority that's making everything worse. Once Bungie follows through with their promises and KEEPS those promises, I think more people will finally let themselves be hyped again. Because everything shown would be hype normally. We need to see how many maps are in the map packs and how often Bungie feels like giving us map packs, how the quality of aspirational armor improves and how many sources will have such armor, the new weapons and archtypes and how they change the game, server stability, and such before we let ourselves become victim to hype one last time. Hopefully enough trust has been restored that the next expansion after Final Shape will be received well enough that the vocal minority will be just that once again.
Big note I noticed when I watched the post-show (and maybe spoiler?) When one of them mentioned the pre-order fusion at the Phase 1 Savathun fight arena in the start mission, someone was talking about the elements it could be, and said a “[REDACTED]” one with very little else on that topic, immediately moving on. Anyone else hear that, or just me? Due to that, I think we’re getting the new supers as a distraction, and the new subclass is an actual thing too. Keeping it under wraps with other new and cool stuff seems like it would work

@fightnathfight more or less, souls games are known for not being explicit, so its essentially you are thrown into a world, given a weapon and told go out and find your own path. them saying it sounds like a souls like game may mean they could expect to to have that free flowing exploration where you just go through the pale heart and encounter things that aren't obvious, hear things that you aren't meant to, fight those who may seem more powerful than most average foes. Honestly if thats how it is, it could be very exciting
Given that a single instance can hold 26 people, or 12 (crucible) if social spaces functions differently, I could easily see a matchmade final assault story mission with as many players as possible.

Yeah I'm pretty sure that towards the end of the campaign we'll face a Red Subjugator that uses something that's completely new and we briefly get to wield it similar to how we did Stasis when interacting with Splinters. And then we use it to weaken the Witness at the end of the campaign which will lead to the Raid.

Imagine this: after the raid, you do not accomplish the full defeat of the Witness, but you do end up separating all the Precursors from that combined state. This introduces the "Precursors" as an enemy lurking around but also introduces some Precursors that were secretly not for the goal of the Precursors Consensus. Probably won't happen but a boy can dream.

man, i played destiny 2 religiously. i had over 1000 hours in it. then i queued for GM nightfall with my buddy and a guy off of the official destiny 2 discord. played with the guy for about 2 hours, and was banned the next day with no explanation. i believe it was because he was cheating somehow. never was told why and my appeal was denied. all that time down the drain. id love to get back into d2, but theres no way im spending all that money and spending all that time again.

Bungie is to worried about pronouns and woke culture to make their game any good. I have no faith The Final Shape will be any different. Only game I know of that went backwards from their first game then spent years catching back up to what D1 was. We'll see what theyve got with this DLC.
whether this dlc flops or not, i just want bungie to nail the story and narrative (the campaign), they MUST answer all the questions and create a grand conclusion to this saga (still don't know wtf the veil is...). i also hope the destination is used for exploration instead of just a playground for public events and seasonal content. but nonetheless, i'm just happy cayde is back!! it's been an honour guardians, so let's fight together one last time 🫡
We know a lot about it. We're you absent last season? There was lore on it every week We also spent virtually the entire Witch Queen campaign not having a real clue what the stupid worm familiar was and none of that was explained unless you did the exotic mission for the GL.

While we’ve got a few different clues to that, it’s very hard to imagine Bungie making it so that a subclass ISN’T advertised. If there actually is a third darkness subclass in the works, I’d be incredibly surprised that 1. They’re doing another one right after Strand’s release, and 2. It’s not a major selling point, whereas a subclass would be the major reason for buying an expansion. One can hope, but this is pretty good already.
Really hope the witness boss fight isn’t just it using every element of light and dark, I want it to literally dice me up into little pieces aswell as my screen when I die

the "no guide, linear" model sounds, in a rather unsettling yet way, much like a elden ring/souls-like game
