I have to say, living through the 2000's, this car was the coolest thing on the road back then as well as now. I really think the v8 manual combo makes it one of the best/coolest cars for road use which is what 99% of us will ever use it for. cheers on owning my dream 🥂
Brilliant video (both part 1 & 2) the best owners ones I’ve seen on the V8 manual. I’m also looking to purchase the exact same model/spec/price as your car in the spring,so this is really useful. Looking forward to the next one thanks 🙏
I don't know what you did but I feel that this video is probably one of, if not the best representation of the Capristo exhaust out there. You can always get a feel of the tone of an exhaust through a video but never the actual volume. On the drive-by's the way you could hear it so clearly, way before you could even see the car and the reverb/echo off the surroundings gives you a better idea of how loud it actually is, much more so than the other videos I've seen. Fantastic video overall, can't wait to see more of your content!
Thanks - comments like that are why I do TH-cam. I have no special kit or skills so assume the sound is resonating off the trees/hills. I plan to do a specific video on the Capristo exhaust because it really is a very special bit of kit and shows off the V8 to its full potential!
Great video and great shout out to RE Performance. I took my v10 manual to Ricky before a 7000km road trip round Europe which I posted on my channel along with an interview with Ricky. He's a genius with these cars! I'm a huge huge fan and have both a v8 manual coupe in Sprint Blue and a V10 manual Spyder in teak brown.
Funny, my V8 R8 is also a manual, same Capristo exhaust and same body/side blade colour combo (under the wrap). It really is the perfect car. Love the cruise ctrl on motorways to car shows. Literally the only two downsides for me was the steering wheel was a bit too skinny for my liking and the super outdated infotainment system which are such easy fixes. The steering wheel got retrimmed by Royal Steering Wheels (can't recommend them enough) so it was thicker and has thumb grips and planning a trip to Cambridge Car Audio at some point to get them to sort out the head unit. Even the frunk is big enough for my usage, managed a nice weekend getaway with me and my (then) girlfriend no problem. EDIT: Oh yeah, I also forgot that there is ZERO rev hang. The revs drop so fast that, while great on a spirited drive, on a leisurely cruise you actually have to blip the throttle even on the upshifts. Ok so that's a third (nit-picky) downside.
@@redemptionx2918 Damn, what are the odds! You know it would be nice to have another car guy in the area that I could chat to. Do you have a way to get in contact that you can share?
@@pkbeastHi mate, I’ve tried to respond a couple times but keep getting an error. Likewise it Would be great to have a chat some time. I only really have X WeblingHarvey.
That was excellent, you put some work into filming that and it shows. Figures, stats, speeds etc. there's always something bigger and better but of course, you can't put a figure on how a car makes you feel, which can be priceless.
Thank you for an excellent review! I agree the V8 does sound a treat when valves are open. I am a customer of Ricky at RE Performance and he has worked on my car for many years now. Sadly it caught fire 12 months ago, and I have recently replaced it with a V10 Plus, which takes it to another level. I do miss the V8, so enjoy yours.. Happy New Year🥂

Great video and a good insight! Really nice spec R8. It’s been very tastefully modified

Thanks for the nice comments. Can I ask what caused it to catch fire? 😳

What a noise damn 🤤 that scrubs up well for an old bird too , private plate on that you wouldn't know.
Doesn’t sound bad does it? Loving the Capristo exhaust 🥰
I keep oscillating between getting the R8 v8 or a 997 turbo. Just cant make up my mind.
