My GT has a different map on the R-Tronic then stock R8V10s, so not a fair comparison, but I've lived with it for a few years now and I honestly think the complaints are more due to expectations... If you expect an auto box, it will be disappointing. If you expect an automated manual, a halfway house between a manual and an auto, then it's fine. It needs as much mechanical sympathy as a manual only with a different user interface. I like the engagement that provides. But that's just me.
@@esthetics4512 the R8 GT comes with its own unique map for both engine and gearbox. I've left those stock as the improvements are marginal beyond what they did at factory. It's so marginal it's not worth the cost or giving up my extended warranty 😁

I'm jealous how cheap you can get them in UK, here in USA the manual is hugely valuable now (my car is 1 of 1 in its spec for the NA market - crazy).

I bought one of the very last gen 1 R8s. The premium for the V10 at the time was over $50k USD. I went with the V8 and have loved it since the day she was delivered. The extra cost plus extra maintenance was not worth it to me. Your mileage may vary.

2014 v10 should be a facelift so s-Tronic. Which is a far better gearbox than the earlier r-tronics. Go for the v10 if you can. But for me the v8 suits me better and does what I need it to do

That’s why I get annoyed when people say men treat each other bad, or we are confrontational. This video is proof that we’re not. Love both cars, my dream is a V10 Audi R8 manual, in either black or a vibrant colour like orange or green

@@be1441 Not sure if you recall my V8 Spyder caught fire last Christmas, just got a 2018 V10 few weeks ago following the insurance pay out, so I wanted to get a fire extinguisher that was good quality and safe for the components on this engine, should the inevitable happen.
Maybe it's just me but I think your V8 sounds just as nice as the V10, perhaps it doesn't come across as well in the video - though I did try, as I'm listening through some decent headphones 🤣
@@be1441 it really does. A V8 never sounds bad really but yours just sounded superb to my ears. Maybe the V10 had a slight bit more of a howl but yours has a lovely gruff v8 sound track and it certainly looks like it goes well 😁 definitely not worth 25 grand extra by any stretch for me

The V8 are the original and more reliable.The end. It's design are timeless while the newer copycat can never compete in design for the future.Thats why the V8 will increase in value if kept low milage while the V10 will eventually be ruined in so many ways.
@@be1441 yes I’m aware of that what I’m saying is audi overhauled the 5.0 from the gallardo to the 5.2L that it currently is think of it like this Porsches 3.8 L and 4L can be bore stroked by DEMAN motorsports which in turn results in the 4.5L engine although the original Motor is from Porsche the 4.5L can’t be called a Porsche engine as they didn’t produce it in this case think of audi as the tuner as they are ones who bore stroked the 5.0l to the 5.2L that’s in the gen2 gallardos and huracans which then makes the 5.2L ENGINE A AUDI NOT LAMBO

R8 v8 AC compressor can be changed with engine in. VPS sells ball joints, I have changed all myself, not a biggie.

Yes, it makes a huge difference. My V8 had 85k kms and had like 2-3 mm carbon coating in intake ports, valves & intake snouts.

Got the v8 is a b7 RS4 and v10 BUJ R8, and the v10 all day long! Better in every way! Even the sound.
