Oscar's like my favourite RWBY character, so the fact that he suffers like this is bonechilling and so infuriating to me. He reminds me of someone I'd adopt as a younger sibling and then slam anyone into the ground who tried to mess with him (yes true story, I did that to a kid once who bullied/hurt my baby brother, he never messed with him again). But because I myself am also aspiring to be an actor (specifically a voice actor), Oscar's voice actor has me in awe.

Wish he'd gotten to do anything after reuniting with the whole team, but I get that plot needed to happen. Hopefully we'll get to see more of him soon, cause I am FASCINATED by his character
Considering the importance of Ozpin/Ozma to the story and Oscar’s need to deal with their responsibilities, I consider Oscar to be the honorary “5th protagonist” more than Jaune. Also, when considering his inspirations from “Princess Ozma” and “The Little Prince”, expect to see more Oscar-centered storylines now that he’s in a desert. Miles Luna has stated that the film adaptation of “The Little Prince” is among his favorite animated films so I expect them to do that aspect justice.
Yeah him ruby and Jaune have always felt like the main leaders on this show.......I feel like this volume really made me put Oscar on the same tier as the other two
I personally found the volume more enjoyable if you change your perspective to Oscar as the main character, not Ruby. It solves more problems than you would think.
My poor boy Oscar can’t go a season without being punched... we need an SPCA commercial just for him. (On a different note, I’m glad Emerald, Whitley, and Ozpin are getting their redemption arcs.)
