I have loss sleep since Elmo left Discord. Elmo is a saint, he helped me out so many times with my miners and 5G... Helium needs to hire him, he really cared about this project! I hope Elmo starts his own channel soon, until then I got Nic, please keep videos coming! Thx, goal tender/Bobby
Correct me if Im wrong but as I understand it Dish will provide customers with 5G enable satellite boxes that will provide 5G coverage in the home but also if you are a restaurant or a bar with Dish which is many thousands those guys will target the crap out of them. I wonder if a Dish satellite antenna will be able to pull in 5G?? thoughts?
I got a 430I and I have done all of the Installation steps. But I am not seeing a "register radio" button in the gateway dashboard. I've been asking people in discord and I have contacted FFsupport. But so far I have not been able to find a solution. So I thought maybe you would know what I need to do.
Nik totally off topic. The radio card in my Pisces is destroyed. Do you know if I can hot swap it for a new one? Found out where to get them from. 📡 . Regards Tim
Also if you were working with a restaurant or bar and their internet carrier would go down, is there a way of having their POS switch over directly to the CBRS radio to keep them able to run credit cards etc? or would the whole thing fail since there is no internet connection to the building? If you could provide a business that back up that would be a huge asset.
Their carrier is what provides the internet connection, so the radio wouldn't be able to connect to the internet (unless you have a Dish antenna etc on the roof).
Hi Nick, hope things are good. Can i ask something please? Can the Helium Node Module travel? i mean if i took it up a hill and beamed it for the day, then moved on to somewhere else - would that work?
@@thegristleking Ah ok... thanks very much. Hmm, interesting. Is the reason you wont earn that much because you are providing a service to the network through a mobile sim ip, rather than a home network ip?
Hello there! I have a specific issue with my outdoor cbrs and have already reached out to ff support who haven’t really offered any solutions other than power cycling which didn’t work and they’re moving very slowly with answers so I thought I would reach out to the community. So I set up my ff gateway without issues and my outdoor cbrs baicell is setup and was location was approved. All the check marks were initially green, however, now the only thing that is green is spectrum access. The core status says “none”, gps says “trying” and on air is “off.” I have power cycled both the ff gateway and the cbrs small cell. Any advice? Thanks!
@@markokalabic3958 No my radio would power on but wouldn’t get a gps lock and stopped connecting with the gateway. I talked to customer support and they determined the radio was stuck in some kind of loop and they refunded me. My indoor radio is working just fine though.
@@dgballin21 oh good, at least you got the refund. You won't be buying another one? I'm thinking of buying two outdoors but I have good locations for them.
@@markokalabic3958 it was such a pain in the ass to setup and I’m just frustrated after my first experience with it so I don’t think so. Like mine was on a flagpole on a large hill behind the house and it was very inconvenient place to get to if it’s not running properly. If I had a more convenient setup for outdoor I may consider it. It also probably wouldn’t get a lot of traffic in my neighborhood.
Hello Community, I thought MOBILE tokens (5G) were to be disbursed yesterday. I don't see anything on my wallet. Could you please provide your thoughts? Updates?
So bobcat was supposed to come out with a conversion for our hotspots they never did that now they're selling us hot spots for $3,000 a pop. I bought 40 helium hot spots. Now where's my conversion kit I'm losing about $3,000 per machine x 40 machines I'm losing about $120,000 a month so I question these guys that are behind the scenes either they say what they're going to do and keep their promise or be very slow to buy machines. Used to be about $55 a coin now it's down to about $2 a coin. I need a conversion kit that I can put on my bobcats can anybody help me I don't want to spend $3,000 for a God damn 5G bobcat. When I have 40 of these bobcats.
Hi Jeff, I don't think Bobcat ever said they were coming out with a conversion kit. Could be wrong there. Their current 5G offering is $999, not $3k. I don't understand how you're losing $3k per machine. The coin price isn't something Helium (or anyone) controls; the entire market is down. The only makers who talked about a conversion kit is MNTD and COTX. I haven't watched to see if they have one.
Still watching the video but what about skill hills? Campgrounds that are in the white mountains have no 5g or still on 4g? I don't like this idea or possibility of being "squeezed out" by other companies that own licenses. Could be me but that's kind of a red flag. Why do we not own that section of bandwidth.? Seems irresponsible to leave that chance. Eventually these companies will have full coverage and if all they have to do is flash their licenses to push us off the network. Idk. I have 16 hot spots deployed and feeling the burn of All the changes. Now my radar is on and the 5g seems risky. Especially with that comment. I might buy and deploy 1 but still on the fence. Doesn't the fact that OUR 5g is built on block chain set it apart?

Yeah, he's an awesome guy.
Oh man! Can't wait to hear this interview. Elmo is a Discord legend in the Helium 5G channel
Right on. This was pretty much to answer Crüe questions, so not an overarching thing. Still, I figured it'd be useful to release.
Great interview, Nik! Really appreciate all of Elmo's technical info too!
Thanks, he's a wizard!

Tim, I'm not sure, sorry mate!

Thanks for this guys. It seems crazy to me there's only 57 likes to this video. It's early!
Is it possible to get the small cell alone? Or is it always bundled with the freedom fi. I already have the freedom fi, need cell.
Check with Parley Labs, they have a few radio-only deals right now.
My Samsung Note 20 connects perfectly. Thanks guys!
Nice, thanks!

Best to do that with a data only Hotspot. You'll provide coverage, but it won't earn very much.

They're out, I'm guessing you've seen 'em by now (as long as you have a 5G unit up and running.)
good stuff

All valid concerns. Deploy where you'll provide useful service and you'll be de-risking as much as possible.
