A good friend of mine died last year and my mate introduced me to this song a couple days after, when i close my eyes amd listen i can remember her face. I miss you Sarah, im sorry.
Even if im still so young, just an early teenager, this song still somehow gives a feel of nostalgia, I have heard thhe basic melody somewhere in my dreams, yet I do not know where. This song makes me feel the urge to cry, and it brings up so many memories, it fills me with guilt, yet I still love the song. I feel an extra layer of empathy when listening to this

Man, it makes me so happy that the algorithm is pushing this video to more people. The animation and song pairs perfectly and more people should see it.
@Daniel Rucker et al -- I made this animated piece and wrote the words to the song -- and then was able to cajole my friend Lewis to "put together" something for the music. So, a couple weeks later he gave me a tape -- which was great(!) the music and effects and vocal all on one track which synced perfectly to match the animation. And hey, this was like 30 years ago for crissake........ with one piece of soundtrack you can avoid an expensive film sound mix.... So, to find out about Lewis Motisher, start with googling Lewis Motisher Ragtime. He lives in the neighborhood -- you might see him on Irving Street............ -- Vince
Vince Collins Thank you so much! I have found his ragtime stuff... I have actually spent a couple hours researching and writing some guitar tablature for this song. I have so far found an address and a phone number, as well as some artwork that he has put together for the ragtime group and his friends. I have also found the video company he worked for during that time period, W.A. Palmer films, but I cannot really find other contact information, like an email. I know he lives in San Francisco, from the address that one of the ragtime pages gives for him, but sadly, I do not live in San Fransisco (I am currently located in Los Angeles), and I am not sure that he (or anyone) would appreciate a call out of the blue for some song they wrote 30 years ago by some kid that they have never met. Anyhow, thank you very much for the information, I will see what else I can shower the internet for.
Vince Collins By the way, I also wanted to thank you for the animations, they are pretty cool too. I think the difference between you and Lewis is that you have a good online presence, and other work, that people can find easily, while Lewis does not. The visuals enhance the music, and vice versa, good work!
***** Lewis is also Unigon Films th-cam.com/users/unigonfilmsvideos He made films in the style of John Waters back in the day -- there are a couple of trailers for them, along with a bunch of ragtime stuff...........
Vince Collins Hey man, i'm a graphic designer and i'm such a HUGE fan of yours, your work is so underrated. The drawing style, how the animation puts together and one thing comes out of another is just marvellous, this particular one has an awesome message. (sry for bad english, not my native language) I always had one doubt about your videos, your intention was to watch them on lsd? i don't take lsd too often but when i do, i start the trip watching this video for sure!
@MistRexXX here you go... The lackadaisical tone makes me feel a sadness like no other, it's a desperation on my part, and an almost condescending part on the other side. It also makes me sort of nostalgic with all those motion pictures, it seems like one of those songs you listen to as a kid because of the tune, and you don't even realize what the lyrics are talking about. I also seem to feel an overwhelming happiness when the part of the cauliflower clouds, and the way he describing so other things. This is my life and everything is beautiful in it, and everything is happening so fast. I'm so happy to be living and seeing things like "cauliflower clouds". And you know what, my thirst for life will never run dry, there is so much beauty and I just want to experience it. The disarray of emotions makes me almost uncomfortable yet warm inside that I don't know what exactly I am feeling, and I think it's amazing how simple words and a catchy harmony of combined notes can make me feel. It makes me uneasy, but I love it.
Just blink everytime at the tempo (or if you're not good with rythm, everytime it "pew"). Visual and music will synchronise. You'll see that life is flashing before your eyes. Fucking Masterpiece. Thank you Vince Collins. All of your animations are wonderful piece of art.
This song is both motivational and de-motivational depending on how you look at it. If you don't take action or chicken out in your life, you can be easily put down by the lyrics. However, if you look at the lyrics as a challenge, it will motivate you to take action when you normally fail to do so.
Very nice. This part: Our pace of life was synchronized With the animated energy of surprise I think it means that if you have novelty in your life, keep trying new things, life will move at slower pace. If you're in a routine it flashes fast.
honestly ahead of its time... you could've told me this was made within the last decade trying to do a vintage aesthetic or something and I'd believe you. Actually, this unironically is the real authentic thing in a way...
I saw this for the first time about 10 years ago when I was just getting into psychedelic art. It still makes me feel happy and sad at the same time. I love my life and despite of all my hardships, I am happy to be where I am.
I always find myself coming back to this song whenever I'm in a rut. Something about the lyrics are just so melancholy but genuinely inspiring. Incredible song.
Well while I watched this movie, my life didnt flash before my eyes, but my childhood did. And o my god how I miss my childhood. Best time in life. Thanks pall for helping me remember all the good stuff on cartoon network and fox kids, and all the fun I had with my friends etc etc!
First saw this when i was in high school and thought it was a funny weird animation. 10 years later it fills me with an existential dread I couldn't have ever fathomed was possible.
I remember watching this on the ABC's RAGE program as a teenager back in the 90's. After a big night and one of my first psychedelic experiences, this music clip blew my mind. Even painted the flaming eye on my first guitar way back when. I've been looking for this song for nearly 30yrs and finally found it today. Thanks for uploading this video friend. Edit - Only saw the clip once. Now after seeing the video again, I realise it wasn't blue flaming eyes, but i think they are meant to be fish. In my mind they were like comets or something. Altered perception lmfao
I come back here every so often, the first time I watched this I felt so emotional, and with a incredible feeling of melancholy and sadness, also nostalgia. Thank you for making this animation, I absolutely love it, and the music as well, it might be one of the most emotional pieces of music I’ve ever listened to, thank you so much! 🎵
One of the most imaginative great quality animations I have ever seen! Along with childhood favorites eg Caspar , Yosemite San,Roadrunner, Tasmanian Devil,Scooby Doo,Fat Albert(oops we didn't know),school house rock, and a couple Sid Kroft tv show like always land of the lost and at my cousin's that good lil kid he lived by a beach a good younger bro, a lady who I guess looked out for them and a bunch of seaweed. Far out and cool.
In '92, referencing late 60s/early 70s imagery makes perfect sense -- nostalgia swings on a 25 to 30-year rotation. Right now I'm obsessed with Y2k design and music. Edit: Description says '92, but credits says '84 - maybe my formula is wrong lol which is the real date???
I was rolling down my feed and i saw this, now i'm having an existential crisis

A classic. The best video of Vince on my view. Thanks for your art
so melancholic; so beautiful
What a shame this doesn't have more views! The message and art direction is amazing.
Wish there were more lyrics like this nowadays. Every music artist should be required to have one track with nice lyrics like this on their cds.
I saw this on Off the Air.
This animation and music are legendary
This is probably gonna be in the youtube recommendation tab some day in the future. Hi guys that were recommended the video by the algorithm! 👋👋👋

First saw this when i was in high school and thought it was a funny weird animation. 10 years later it fills me with an existential dread I couldn't have ever fathomed was possible.
I cannot begin to imagine how hard to this was animate. It was certainly an experience to watch!
I honestly really like this. There's something so nostalgic about this for some reason :3

You can tell a lot of time and effort was put into this.
When Death straight up rocks your s**t after not valuing life.
The plot of Mind Game basically
I remember watching this on the ABC's RAGE program as a teenager back in the 90's. After a big night and one of my first psychedelic experiences, this music clip blew my mind. Even painted the flaming eye on my first guitar way back when. I've been looking for this song for nearly 30yrs and finally found it today. Thanks for uploading this video friend.
Edit - Only saw the clip once. Now after seeing the video again, I realise it wasn't blue flaming eyes, but i think they are meant to be fish. In my mind they were like comets or something. Altered perception lmfao
I pay TH-cam premium 4 this song only. Bring it to Spotify pls 😪
Part of my childhood. Still amazing after all these years. Love it.
This was made in 1984, i'm really not sure of why the description says "1992"
@@nuker3272 **cough** so like I was saying, nostalgia swings on a 15 to 20-year rotation.....
0:38 me when a light teal clock turns me into a radio
OMG I KNEW I COULD RECOGNIZE THAT PART BUT I HAD NO IDEA WHY LMAO

This song makes me realize how amazing life can be and how at the end we all want another moment but we cant and it's over
I love the animation, love the song, love the lyrics... man, this is GREAT!
Just brilliant...
I always come back to watch it
