And here i will give my amateur Zooliminological analysis of this beautiful little guy: •Prince is a particularly strange entity, so these are all just speculation •Prince has six legs and two eyes along a bilaterally symmetrical body, which is consistent with an active lifestyle. •It is difficult to tell the orientation of the eyes, and they don't seem to have distinct structures within the eye. That is to say, there is not much information that can be gleaned without further testing. •The body does show evidence of cephalization. It has a distinct "head-end," which contains the apparent sensory organs (if that is an appropriate word for them), and the body is propelled with the head-end leading. Again, this is consistent with an active lifestyle. •The legs are proportionately very long, each limb being about 3/4 of the body length (minus the tail). They all seem to be locomator limbs, with none of them being specialized for manipulation. There are many reasons an animal could evolve similar limb proportions, such as speed, long-distance migration, feeding on high branches, wading, and having a larger field of vision. Being that the Prince has such a high risk of deconstructing, better vigilance likely played at least a small role in this adaptation. •The hexapodal condition is interesting. Six legs is less efficient than four. All this tells me personally is that this body composition must be adequate to survive in its enviroment. •The Prince takes on the physical attributes of a Prince Rupert's Drop, no doubt where its name came from. It also is stated that the creature is observed to be made of glass. I doubt this is glass made of anything found on Earth, as the entity is able to move without much difficulty. •Social behavior is also fairly notable. There are many reasons creatures may evolve sociality, most often for intraspecific mutual safety. Safer in numbers. •The most interesting, and in my opinion most telling, feature of the Prince is the Queen. When the body of a Prince deconstructs, it becomes a Queen. This closely resembles (in an ultraterrestrial sort of way) metamorphosis in Earth animals. This makes me wonder if the Prince is a pupal stage of a Queen's life cycle. More specifically, if it is a "chrysalis" type of stage. Most insects who have a chrysalis stage will have a hard outer shell to protect them while they undergo metamorphosis. Having a very resistant body plan, as the Prince has, would help the creature successfully complete metamorphosis without disruption during this very vulnerable stage. -It should be noted that the majority of Earth animals that undergo metamorphosis are totally dormant during this stage. Though there are some, like frogs, that remain active like the Prince. However, there are no good Earth comparisons to a process like the one I'm speculating (that i know of). Additionally, should this be the case that the Prince is a stage in a life cycle, the need for the corporeal form to be deconstructed via outside force to complete metamorphosis is a considerable hindrance. •The Prince does not appear to consume matter for food. This makes sense, as having to compromise the integrity of the body in a way necessary for eating would likely cause deconstruction. The chrysalis theory is able to explain this, as many animals will not eat during this stage. However, extra-planar entities like the Prince do not seem to be bound by the human understanding of physics, so it is equally as likely that the Prince persists on energy unknown to us or none at all. •The ability of the Queen to pass through walls but still retain the ability to interact with physical objects is interesting. It may be the case that the Queen exists on a higher dimention. Why it would need a corporeal form as a Prince cannot be said for certain without a lot of further research. It is my opinion that the Prince is a stage in the life cycle of the Queen, similar to a chrysalis or cocoon. Other than that is hard to say, so hopefully we will get a better understanding of them as expert zooliminologists continue to study extra-planar entities. It is also my opinion that Prince is a very good little guy
Something to know as a speculative biologist myself is that six legs while less efficient, is also much more stable than a four limbed configuration. While taking up more energy, having six limbs might for instance prevent a prince from falling forward after it comes to a sudden stop after running or tripping backwards onto its tail during sudden acceleration or deceleration.
@fishyfishyfishy500akabs8 yes exactly!! I was going to talk more about the limb configuration, but I didn't know how to word it correctly. I admittedly don't know much about hexapod locomotion, but it is something I felt was significant to note about the Prince
what if the prince being translucent is part of the metamorphosis? light passing through or being reflected, or possibly filtered, could be like storing energy for the moment it transitions into its more ethereal form.
I know it’s been 12 days since this came out but I’ve just watched these videos what feels like nonstop as a form of comfort. I love the princes and queens so much. Thank you to everyone working on this series
I really do like the setting of this series. SPC is just "this will kill you in horrible ways, and that will make people seeing others with googly eyes", while this is more about wonder and such.
Oh absolutely. I could never get into SCP because every other entity is just either "abominable monster" or "world-ending horror". This feels so much more like a slightly unnerving but unique and strange world that we are still learning about. Nothing is inherently evil, but it could be dangerous without proper precautions. I also love the angle of creating a zoo for these creatures and trying to give them enrichment.
Not all SCP are dangerous, they're just anomalous. SCPs like SCP-529 or SCP-1762 exist, they just aren't super popular. That being said,I do like the idea of liminal space creatures being themselves liminal. SCP creatures are still bound by being real to an extent, these guys aren't.
Okay I just wanna say I love this and it's so unique and cool. It takes a lot of analog horror/scp tropes and instead uses them for somehing oddly comforting and soft. I think we need more "comfort horror" like this. I honestly don't even know if "horror" qualifies as a term that can be applied to this honestly. The only reason I use it is because it seemingly takes inspiration from horror projects such as the scp foundation. I hope this series continues!
"A Reign" A ruler has a 'reign' as well as it being a play on words of 'rain' as the full name of what it's based on is 'prince rubert drop' therefore referencing both royalty and raindrops
I love that this series isn't focused on being particularly scary (I have high anxiety so while I love horror, it's pretty exhausting to watch). I love seeing these strange little creatures and all the little details of this world, it really makes me happy :) Also ohmygod i genuinely got emotional over the one prince breaking, I'm so glad they've got a fun little evolution 💗
I love these videos so much, they’re so whimsical and niche in a really refreshing way (: also I really like that these are so closely resembling a prince Rupert’s drop! Which is what I’m guessing is also the namesake for these lil goobers
Great entity designs for this series! Every creature is simple, otherworldly, and fits perfectly into liminal, empty spaces. I love these little goobers.
I'm glad to know the whole thing about what happens after they shatter, that was very distressing for a few moments. Still a little worrying, but if it's freely lingering around the researchers, it's probably alright, I would guess.
4:47 doors are definitely not social constructs as solitary animals will still create doors of a sort for their own protection in their burrows. Windows, not so sure about that but they definitely do provide strategic advantages in survival so I would hesitate to say those are social constructs.
@@keyboardsmashhere I didn't want to use that because technically ants have a society, making it so that they could say "your argument says nothing because ants are social creatures". I'm thinking of a type of burrowing spider/tarantula
I like how these videos are about more wholesome anomalous creatures that are more adorable without being a living murder machine of doom like so many other similar genres. It’s nice, I like it a lot
@@recurvestickerdragon this would not make sense seeing as gender is not brought up in any way about this species. We can conclude that it has no gender and the only reason they are called "prince" is because of the "prince Rupert's drop" that they are based on. Because of this, it would be more realistic to assume that the entity princes become when they shatter is called "kings" as princes become kings and this is likely how the in-universe scientists would name it.
@@timfunnydragon youre correct but also missing the fact that in reffering to the change as transitioning we are talking on a level one step removed from the literal. We are interpreting the shattering of glass and change in name as a metaphor for transitioning (one that can be analysed more but ill spare you)
This video appeared randomly on my recommended page and I couldn’t be happier! The unique creature designs and visuals, combined with the narration, makes for a intriguing watch. Looking forward to (hopefully) seeing more of your team’s work in the future.
Gorg. Gorg is just a plush li’l guy from the dimension where Princes and Golbos are from. Gorgs look like small, poinsettia-esque flowers with a smiley face where their center would usually be, and usually have multiple stitch lines along their petals, as they’re filled with a sort of “living stuffing”, which is a cotton with extra-regenerative properties in a sense that any cut made to the material it’s touching is stitched back together after an hour of exposure. Care procedures and containment measures are your choice, but I just wanted to share my ideas for a new fauna… or flora… (whatever this thing is idk).
I love you you've taken the energy of the found footage style of videos and distilled the horror from it to produce a wholesome product with no downsides or unexpected jumpscares.

I know people can get annoyed by long comments, but you put in a lot of effort to make this!
Mmmm yes, the prince are metapods.
what if the prince being translucent is part of the metamorphosis? light passing through or being reflected, or possibly filtered, could be like storing energy for the moment it transitions into its more ethereal form.
“Do u know what a Rupert’s drop is”
“Yeah?”
“Give it legs”
Extra-dimensional life that isn't hostile and is just another creature in the universe is so interesting
3:41 NO MOVE PRINCE DONT STAY THERE MOVE OUT THE WA- NOOOOOOO
😭
The Zoolimonology project has cooked again and found a new lil skrunkly
Oh really interesting to see an entity that can metamorphize. Also the budget nature of the facility is great as always!
I absolutely love this series I can't wait to see what lil Critter is in the next video!!
@@snakewithapen5489 youd like scp-5031, 'Not Another Murder Monster'
Not all SCP are dangerous, they're just anomalous. SCPs like SCP-529 or SCP-1762 exist, they just aren't super popular.
That being said,I do like the idea of liminal space creatures being themselves liminal. SCP creatures are still bound by being real to an extent, these guys aren't.
Spc 999 (i think it was 999) is literally an orange blob that makes everyone inexplicably happy
Of course there are a lot of dangerous spc’s selechians can be quite the menaces
Its veyr atmospheric
FINALLY, a creature that actually moves!
The Longlegs moved!
@@CyrusdVulture So did Golbo! At least, we think it did.
@@CyrusdVulture source /jk
Yeah it feels like the creatures are gradually becoming more complex as we go
Look, the researcher's aren't very nimble ok?
i have made fan art of Golbo and Longlegs, and now to draw these silly fellas!!!! i am very happy right now seeing this literally made my day oml :D
A cryptid based on a Prince Rupert’s Drop is pretty clever. And surprisingly cute.
what would a group of Princes be called?
a congregation? a firm? a dynasty?
A pronce
"A Reign" A ruler has a 'reign' as well as it being a play on words of 'rain' as the full name of what it's based on is 'prince rubert drop' therefore referencing both royalty and raindrops
can we be friends? @@sunnyssecretnonpostingaccount
I like dynasty
a birthright of princes?
“There are no containment procedures for Queens.”
My master ball:
4:59 I LOVE THAT THE RESEARCHER HAS A RAIN WORLD SAINT PLUSH OH MY GODD
A RAIN WORLD FREN :D
SAIT
Watching this at 2 AM hits different. Like watching a documentary as a kid for the first time
They should make a classification for these entities on how hard/expensive it is to contain or to keep it happy
3:19 AYE, GO BACK, BAD PRINCE, BAD!
Exactly XD
Prince: ":("
Noooooo, he's a good boy! :(
I love that this series isn't focused on being particularly scary (I have high anxiety so while I love horror, it's pretty exhausting to watch). I love seeing these strange little creatures and all the little details of this world, it really makes me happy :)
Also ohmygod i genuinely got emotional over the one prince breaking, I'm so glad they've got a fun little evolution 💗
4:59 THE SAINT PLUSH!!!!!!!!!!

oh shid it's a 𝙧𝙖𝙞𝙣 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙡𝙙 𝙧𝙚𝙛𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚
YESSSSS RAIN WORLD
omg raim worl
I love these videos so much, they’re so whimsical and niche in a really refreshing way (: also I really like that these are so closely resembling a prince Rupert’s drop! Which is what I’m guessing is also the namesake for these lil goobers
So much about these videos are things I needed in my life.
What a regal little fella
Man their containment budget increased alot since the longlegs
Still seems pretty low, but at least they didn't need to steal a target ball to provide enrichment this time XD
@@mailcs06 I have a feeling Lowe's is missing those planters, though...
Great entity designs for this series! Every creature is simple, otherworldly, and fits perfectly into liminal, empty spaces. I love these little goobers.
I love the constant refrences to thore rupert prince drop.
ohhhhhhh its called prince because its a prince ruperts drop! thats so cool genuinely
the way I GASPED lol
I love the idea of a creature based on Prince Rupert's Drop, really cool.
I'm glad to know the whole thing about what happens after they shatter, that was very distressing for a few moments. Still a little worrying, but if it's freely lingering around the researchers, it's probably alright, I would guess.
omg... they're so cute! My heart dropped when one of the Prince's broke but was delighted that it seems to be ultimately ok.
You forgot to mention that they are certified cutie patooties
love seeing the funding for the project slowly go up through the enclosure quality becoming better
4:47 doors are definitely not social constructs as solitary animals will still create doors of a sort for their own protection in their burrows. Windows, not so sure about that but they definitely do provide strategic advantages in survival so I would hesitate to say those are social constructs.
Hooded pitcher plants have "windows" of translucent spots to create light spots that confuse their prey
@@feuerling thank you, I didn't remember that
Some animals ARE doors (an ant in particular)
@@keyboardsmashhere I didn't want to use that because technically ants have a society, making it so that they could say "your argument says nothing because ants are social creatures". I'm thinking of a type of burrowing spider/tarantula
Oh, yes I am ready for Him & all of his delightful informational materials.
I hope he's just as scrongly as the previous Extraplanars.
I like how these videos are about more wholesome anomalous creatures that are more adorable without being a living murder machine of doom like so many other similar genres. It’s nice, I like it a lot
I want to know why that one longlegs deconstructed.
It took me longer than I'd like to admit to realize this was about prince Rupert's drops
I love that this is based on a prince rupert drop, its a really cool concept for a creature
Who would have thought the perfect creature was just a sentient Prince Rupert's drop… they are perfect…. Must protect~
Actually, it should be referred to as “The Specimen Formerly Known as Prince”
His name is Squire now (i hope someone gets the reference)
she transitioned, now she's a queen and we're so proud of her
@@recurvestickerdragon this would not make sense seeing as gender is not brought up in any way about this species.
@@recurvestickerdragon that naming wouldn't make sense in universe
@@timfunnydragon youre correct but also missing the fact that in reffering to the change as transitioning we are talking on a level one step removed from the literal. We are interpreting the shattering of glass and change in name as a metaphor for transitioning (one that can be analysed more but ill spare you)
1:00 prince rupert's drop
This video appeared randomly on my recommended page and I couldn’t be happier!
The unique creature designs and visuals, combined with the narration, makes for a intriguing watch.
Looking forward to (hopefully) seeing more of your team’s work in the future.
If anything, I never would've thought to have wanted an adorable six legged prince ruperts drop as a pet, but now I definitely do
The Prince Rupert drop inspiration is amazing!!! An absolutely beautiful creature. I would enjoy caring for a pair!
0:32 yooo i helped with that background! Its based on a photo i took and then scribbled on.
The way it's based off the Prince Rupert drop is such a creative idea!!
I cannot tell you how I look forward to these videos. Keep it up! I audibly gasped when that Prince shattered T_T. But to my surprise, it transcended into a Queen!
This may be your best creature this far. Alwaist a joy to see new videos from you, great work!
All of your little guys are genuinely so cool sweet and fun!! I always look forward to you posting!
Wow!! An analog styled youtube series that isn't bland horror!! And its PEAK!!
Prince/Queen is probably my favorite out of the extraplanar entities: they're so ethereal; I've never seen anything quite like them.
