    This was the first hurricane since 1999 that I was actually scared of. I was in the bathtub. I heard tornadic winds in my room and flew into action. Grabbed a pillow, got into tub and said, "No I'll never get up out of here". Stood up quickly and was grateful for it😢😅, went and got another pillow which fit perfectly. Sat down. Hardly heard anything but could still hear things flying but muffled. I thought there went a garbage can lid, something else and something else fly by. Laid back and woke up the next morning. Phew! Close call. Is all I thought. Thank you Jesus.

    I guess things have calmed down in Florida, however lots of water, flooding. Hopefully the water will drain. Best wishes for prompt recovery

      Happens everytime a hurricane skirts the west coast. Crystal River which is in Citrus County has never had a direct hit from a hurricane.

    It's Crystal River....never had a direct hit from a hurricane....but always floods when a hurricane skirts the west coast of Florida.

      In all the years I've lived here it's never ever flooded as far north on 19 or Suncoast Blvd as it has for this Hurricane. Ever.

    Are we going to see "No Wake Zone" signs posted on streets in Florida's coastal cities?

    Nope. NO sign of global warming here, Death Valley, Burning Man Festival or Las Vegas.

      Global warming (and hurricanes, for that matter) has been a thing, even long before the industrial era of the early 20th century. And you should be so lucky not to have lived during the Ice Age. But keep telling yourself hurricanes are a relatively new phenomenon. Anything to make Flat Earthers look halfway intelligent!

    Nothing like a thoughtless airboat operator touring around gawking while throwing a huge wake at homes and businesses that had water a few inches from coming in their doors.

    if it floods like this so often there, maybe don't build cities in those areas. Remember it's illegal to discuss climate change in Florida so I assume this is a regular occurrence

    • @jennifer9528
      @jennifer9528 ปีที่แล้ว

      Or maybe just put the house on stilts, reinforced with concrete walls and hurricane ties (for the roof) like they do in every other country that regularly endures hurricane weather. It's really not that difficult, but people never want to learn.

      @@jennifer9528 ok but what about the sewage treatment plant and all the infrastructure? Gonna put that up on piers too?
