  • During Hurricane Idalia, Salute said she went outside to take photos when the water started rising. The surge was so fast that she ran back into her house and grabbed her paddle board and dog, Milly.

Clean up in cold well water. In the hot sun.

Why you don’t get out ? It is too dangerous to stay in the path of hurricane high winds and water levels is high

Let me figure this out, you had days of notice about the surge potential, you live on a canal and you stayed. Life long Florida boy here, and I won't live near the water.

Crazy how ppl don't realuze that a once in a century storm can be worse than anything they've seen before.
That's why government issues evacuations after experts predict the areas affected.🤦‍♀️

Let's not forget the animals in all this. If you can go to wal mart and afford a bag of dog or cat food, DO IT. Take them to churches if you don't trust the govt.

Funny how they suddenly like their big government when a hurricane strikes.

All the detractors emerging on here about the area and the people.
Gee, they would prefer the big city and its crime.
I've lived in Florida for almost 60 years now. Not one insurance claim on house or auto. Im sure many can say the same.
To some maybe Florida is worth staying, to others maybe not. Thats their business not mine.
