Although the caravan has disbanded, Dave and I are in Alaska for several more weeks! We cannot wait to share the Denali highway, the bore tide along the Seward Highway, an ice cave, OMG…fall in Alaska and finally taking home our biggest Alaskan souvenir-Our new transmission! Please stay tuned for these exciting adventures (well maybe not exciting on the new transmission😂)
Awww, I almost cried when the other vans pulled away. What an amazing and unforgettable adventure you all had together! It has been so wonderful to come along with you as you've shared it!
What a great adVANture to experience with such wonderful people. You are truly blessed. Thanks for sharing, looking forward to more great adVANtures!!!
Awww, I teared up too when they pulled out. You're all family now, brother's and sisters of the road. ♥️ Sad that your trip to the Artic Circle was aborted but looks like you made the wiser decision. Such a memorable "lifetime" journey. I'm so glad to have been along for the ride. Hope all is well wherever you are now and you're enjoying a lovely fall time. See you next time. 🥰 🍂🌾♥️🌾🍂
We are just about to cross back into the United States via Washington! It’s fun to re-connect in different parts of the world! Can’t wait till we meet again to share travel stories
One fan runs when the engine gets hot. The other fan runs when you turn on the a/c or defrost which turns on the a/c compressor to remove humidity. If you put it on heat, the second fan doesn't kick on. Also, it's not uncommon to run up temp near red climbing mountain above 6,000 feet.
It was very touching to see how your group bonded so well. There will be more adventures for you and the group. It's nice to see folks get along and form a loving and caring alliance. And to see Carrie (and Dave) so moved when the group went their separate ways, that was very heartwarming. So much to look forward to!
What a fantastic life time trip you all had! So many highlights and good times. I know its not quite over for you, but it was sad to see everyone take off. Thanks again for sharing this adVANture with us! I don't think I will ever see these places so it has been wonderful to see them through your, and Roodle's eyes!
Driving along the frost heave roads of Alaska was the hardest driving I have ever experienced. I was exhausted after a day in the driver’s seat. 😊 We totally understand the struggle of our beloved van acting up and then going to the mechanics to be told everything is fine. 😢 Thank you for sharing your AdVantures.
It seems like the Alaskan adventure just started and it's over. What an epic adventure....thanks for taking us along. You did a great job capturing and sharing Alaska. The video with the 4 vans and the bear walking by is special. Happy Trails 🐕
I am not a fan of "Good byes" 😭 What a grand adventure that you all have shared. Happy to see Ruddle did not join the sled dog group 😁 Ok, wiping away my tears & Sendin much Grandmama love & prayers ❌⭕, Iris and Little One 👋🐾
You had awesome adventures together. Such a nice opportunity. I can imagine it was sad to separate. The highlights compilation was great. So close to the artic circle, sorry you can't say you were there this trip.
Can you do a video on scheduled maintenance not in the owners manual? Dealership is recommending differential service, fuel injector cleaning. These are not reference in owners manual. Thx
A normal drive one fan turn on only , when the A/C is on, the second fan will be turned on .Also when weather is too cold, the thermostat will not open, it will not send signals to the fan sensor to turn on the fan . Keep an eye on the temperature gauge on a dash board. Good luck .”
Good to know. Any idea why the one fan is coming on and immediately turning off? It also comes on when the engine isn’t hot. We bought an external monitor to keep an eye on it. It has never done this until just recently.
My van does this and has been doing it since day one when the ac is on. Mechanic checked it out, freon was low and now it's a little better, but still does it.
Darren worked the Overland Expo in Colorado and family commitments on the east coast. Sonja went on a polar bear expedition in Manitoba…. So jealous! And Steve went back home to Washington
Wowww looks like an awesome trip you guys had, such a bonding experience. Dang it girl you got me at the end 🥹 -Lori One day we would like to go to Alaska, Rubens dad served there and would love to see the area he was in. Safe Travels guys 🌺🤙🏽
+@LifeAfterKidsjourneyunknown man is it a trek to get here! But the views are just out-of-this-world! Not just here in Alaska but all the way through Canada! It is definitely a trip of a lifetime! I wasn’t expecting to be so emotional watching everyone leave🤷♀️ we had a great time!
+@PattisArtInnaVan sometimes we don’t know why things work out the way they do🤷♀️ but I feel very strongly that we were not suppose to go north along the Dalton Highway! Plan “B” was nice too😃
Sucks if you couldn't make it to Prudoe Bay. On my trip up there, I left Fairbanks and got on the Dalton. Ran into a disabled motorcyclist. Drove him and gear all the way back to Fairbanks. Ate a meal, gased up and didn't stop again until I got to the Artic Circle campground that evening. Loooong day. Made it to Prudoe the next day. Crossing Atagin pass in a snow storm whiteout on June 21st. Got tosee the midnight sun! Down in the desert currently unit mid December. Going to Antarctica for the month of January. Happy travels!
thank you! How are you doing? I can only imagine these last year (has it been two years already?) have been really hard. Are you still traveling? Will you be in the Southwest this winter? We are thinking we will arrive after the first of the year.
@oneadVANtureatatime Thank you for your kind words and thoughts. It's been very mentally tough because of dad's passing June 2023. Been boondocking still. I'm planning on being in the Southwest for winter. I hope we will be able to visit this winter. Take care and be safe. ♥️ 😊
+@lunatune3714 Steve and Darren are driving back together to the lower 48 and Sonja is meeting friends in Valdez… we will meet up again with in a few weeks
BTW, looking at the map of your video stops, you have never given much love to the midwest. Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri ... only a cameo for Kansas, Nebraska.... If you guys want to fill in the gaps, go rooting around the midwest. (I know, no mountains or glaciers....)

What? You didn't find any Mastodon bones?
Forever friends ❤

The fans are on recall! I just had mine replaced!
Is it a new recall because we already did the old recall.
@@oneadVANtureatatime oh no~ I did the old one…not sure if there is another?
Thank you for taking us with you on this great Alaska adventure. You have so many things to remember and your beautiful dog.

Right! But honestly something is wrong!!! I live in this van and I know every creak, sound, chug-a-lug and beyond😂😂

That bear walking by us was EPIC!!!! We had a great summer with so many memories! Thanks for coming along!!!

The highlights compilation was great.

Still is an awesome Advanture. Sad to see your compadres depart. My wife is the same when we have 2 head back home.
It is a grand adVANture! We look forward to meeting up with Steve, Sonja and Darren across the country!
Nice video ending with everyone.

Thank you sooo much. Polar Bears---so cool. I hope your trip south has been amazing but uneventful.
I'm sure it was very sad to depart from your friends. It was a great time to make memories, though!
Yes it was!
Wowww looks like an awesome trip you guys had, such a bonding experience.

Thank you very much!
Enjoyed the video. By any chance, do you know the builder or model of Sonya’s Van Build?
Nomadik Customs out of Portland Oregon
Looks like you parked in the middle of a landing strip 9:30
It does look like that
It wouldn’t be the first time in Alaska 😂😂
I also have a Promaster...that fan always freaks me out...its so loud....why did everyone depart at the same time.
