My wife and I along with our two dogs are also headed to Alaska in late May through June. It is our last state to visit and also our 30th year anniversary. We're taking our self converted Sprinter. Hope your advanture to Alaska will be awesome. Stay safe. We enjoy watching all of your advantures you have.
You guys give so much to your followers in wonderful content, so you deserve just as much gratitude from us. 😊👍 The remodeling is just wonderful. I LOVE "Dave's drawer"!! How cool is that?!! So let the journey begin!! I'm all ready to come along for the ride 😁!! Take care and may all your roads be true friends. 🥰🌿♥️
Hello everyone! I was so excited to see you all together and your smiling faces. Alaska is wonderful. It will be a fun journey to take with you. Maybe we will see you at Robert's in September. Love you guys❤
Man, that was super cool to see Robert! You guys look so much alike! Everything looks great! Still so impressive that Carrie is a cabinet builder! Looking forward to your Alaska adventures!
Love the upgrades you have made!! It looks like you have so much more room now!! I really enjoy your videos, but this one especially, since you showed how you did the changes! Thank you for that, and thank you for taking us along with you on your advantures!! 💜
Super upgrades! The amount of space, functionality, and convenience that was added to your van is going to make your lives so much more productive and comfortable. Dave, you and your Brother look so much alike and even sound the same. Can't wait to see your adventures in Alaska this year. Hope you're having (had) a wonderful time visiting with family and it was a good break from being on the road before making that long trek North. Be well and safe travels.
Yes, there is no denying that Robert and Dave are related. they are only a year apart but they might as well be twins. We had a great time with family...much needed!
Storm Troop getting better and better all the time! Great upgrades and renovations; I love how well-thought out and detail oriented they are. I think these kind of videos that you create are just as cool and exciting as your travels.
It's good to see you adding some comfort and convenience to your lives. It's amazing the things you see to improve after using them for a while. The new counter top makes the space look bigger and brighter. This kind of video is appreciated by your long time friends and gives perspective for the new subscribers. 👍👍👍
Hi there, thanks for sharing your remodeled rig. It’s beautiful and seems very comfortable. I also chose Trino small composite toilet and I like it a lot. It does the job. 😊❤🐶
+@orientexpressVanlife thank you! We are loving the small size and how easy it is to clean. We are definitely missing the fan that the composting toilet had.
Love what you have done to your van. All the up grades are great. You have showed us and educated us about so much from your travels. Thank you so much. Looking forward to seeing more. ❤❤
@5:47 THE WOBBLE: I had the wobble in my 2018 Ford Transit. It turned out that I needed to replace my 2 rear tires because the steel belts were separating on the inside of the tire. The tech showed me a "swelling" of each of the rear tires while raised up on the jacks. This made the entire van shimmy in the 45+mph range. Fortunately my tires were under warranty still as they were not very old. Just a thought.
We thought it was the tires at first. we bought two new tires...still had the wobble. Bought two more tires....all new tires now and still the wobble. Plus the wobble stops when we let off the gas indicating it is not the tires.
honestly, I think there will ALWAYS be at least one thing we will have to shuffle. At least with two people.... the key is trying to decrease the number of things one is moving around. This is INCREDIBLY difficult in any rig by especially a smaller one of your size. But you can go more places that we can...HAPPY TRAVELS
The upgrades are amazing, especially the garage. Dave and Robert are defiantly from the same family, they look alike and talk alike. Finally Alaska, can't wait to see your videos. Be safe.💜☮
Your upgrades are wonderful! We bought the trelino urine deverter with the urine jug and used a short 3 gallon bucket with bags( for the number 2) and made a enclosed platform for it. We loved it! We used the coconut bricks and the mixture of alcohol, peroxide, and peppermint oil in a spray bottle to spray in the urine side after each use. NO smell at all. You guys inspire us sooo much with your tips and tricks. We can't wait to see Alaska through your eyes and adventures. May God keep you safe and bless you!
Love the updates! It’s great to be organized and have a place for everything. We’re hoping to drive to Alaska in 2025, so we’re looking forward to seeing your experience.
Awesome job on your home improvements ! You're gonna love the extra freezer. We are looking forward to your Alaskan journey you spoke to us about at Quartzsite Big Tent. Life is an AdVanture ... take it ❤ Peggy and I will be taking that journey too.
Ooooo, I'm so excited for you to finally get to Alaska! I can't believe how much work you have done to the van either. All the improvements look great too. This has been quite the year for you and Roodle. The coming summer is going to be a BIG AdVANture!
Great video. Dave and Robert cannot deny being brothers. Robert has the same mannerisms . The van upgrades look fantastic. Pam and I are so happy for you. Pet Roodle for us and tell him he was missed . :-)
Awesome changes! We are firm believers that everything needs a place to limit the van shuffle. We have a lot of drawers now, too, and I love it. Ours aren’t as fancy as yours but they work! Love the new countertop, too! Everything looks great!
You guys did an amazing job on your remodel!! I love the new drawers and your super keen sense for organization. Not an easy thing to do. So excited to follow you on your trip north to Alaska. We have been home since April 12. We decided we are going to upgrade to a 5th wheel trailer. Didn't know how long it would take to find the one that checked all the boxes we were looking for. We got lucky and found one for an excellent price. So we have purchased a new trailer. Yay!! We have a very busy summer ahead of us, as we sell some trailers and one of our 4 wheelers. We should break even and have a much nicer living and traveling home space. Best wishes as you begin your trip north 🤗🤗🤗
Y'all did a great job in the upgrades!! When it comes to LiFePo batteries, don't worry about the 2yr age difference. I have 6 of the same batteries powering a solar generator, and if it was lead acid, it would be a concern. You are good 2 go. Can't wait when you go North to Alaska.
Oh my goodness! I have a 2019 and had one coil go bad in Yuma. Made it to Kanab about 6 weeks later and another one went bad!!! First one at the dealer cost $500. This time a mechanic came out and went ahead and replaced the back 3. $500 once again. I’m only at 55k miles! I also replaced my coolant reservoir due to cracks while in YumaZ. Interesting hearing you guys with the same issues than me but MUCH more mileage than myself. I didn’t even know what a coil was! Thanks for sharing, I’ve been with you guys since before I left for full time 3 years ago. You’ve been an inspiration, safe travels. And thank you Carrie for the stickers! ❤
Thank you! I took that picture in colorado at Independance Pass. Darren (subscriber and patron) had them printed for us. I can get his info if you are interested?
Thank you so much for the kind words! I am so happy for you guys! Congratulations on the upgrades, they look great. As always love the videos. Best of luck for your trip to Alaska!!!!!!
When you get to Alaska you might hook up with Timmy Johnson with Truck house life. He is in Girdwood. Also Matt with Alaska cabin adventures. Love your channel!
Goes to show you no matter how many upgrades you do there is always one more thing to do. Then we say " now why didn't we do that in the beginning?" Hope to see you guys in Alaska, We are headed over the border in a few days. Be safe in your travels..
I'm surprised people don't have more problems with these Vans... I don't think they were designed for all the weight that people put in them to do the van life thing. I would really beef up that suspension. You'd probably eliminate a whole lot of problems, especially the chance at 1 In the middle of Alaska wilderness.
Still you guys have the best layout we've seen for these style vans. Just seeing you guys standing in it together it shows how spacious it is. Not doing too much upper cabinetry was so smart. Love the upgrades. Storm Trooper is looking great. Especially with the disco party lights. 😂
Thank you! Are you guys missing van-life yet? You will have to come back for the summer to work at DigiKey and head back overseas to continue your travels.
This is so wonderful to see all the upgrades!! Of course every van dweller can have some different needs and preferences as far as set up, but it is also incredibly valuable to see your upgrades and changes for having been full timers for 6 years! We are just part timers and haven’t gotten too far on our permanent build yet, but I’m taking notes on builds we see and yours has a some great ones for sure! I am SO excited for your Alaska trip! It will be a wonderful AdVANture to watch!!! ❤️ I would love to hear more about what you think about the Trelino. We’ve been considering that product. I’d love your thoughts on it so far. Also if you could explain a little more on your water setup. I know you were going over a whole lot of things in this video so you didn’t have a lot of time to devote to each. Thanks!! 😊

I thought if the Trelino was a decent product, we’d just go that route, but I think we’ll probably just build our own. Thanks again!!
Nice upgrades. We’re working on an improved bed for me. Mainly to add storage space under it. Lots of wasted space currently. I get annoyed with the move game too. Some things I will have to do and it only takes me a minute to make and unmake my bed. The storage of my chairs in the shower is the real pain. It takes work in small spaces to make the most of it 👍🏼
+@Thesaltymedic36 yeah a good bed is important and no room for wasted space! Storing chairs is also a pain, that is why we didn’t have chairs for two years…lol now the bench is working out nicely!
We upgraded to the same toilet (tall version) and love it. For our refrigerator we bought a indoor outdoor temperature monitor system. We use the wireless outdoor sensor in the refrigerator. Just a nice easy way to know the temperature in the refrigerator. Saved us once when we had an electrical connection issue for the frig. Batteries last about a year. Might be nice for your new freezer especially with it being in the back. Looking forward to your coverage on the Alaska trip. That is a dream trip for me as well. We have the exact same van with 77k miles.
I had a coil go out,so I had one installed.About a year ago I did new heavy duty coils I found on Amazon and new plugs, and replace a 4 inch cooler hose underneath the intake manifold, also moving away from batteries for solar generator. I will be 6 years in June 2024
Will see Alaska in July via cruise . let us know what you liked best. Juno skagway will go into Prince Roop which is in Canada and we'll see the national glaciers Park And there's another one I don't have my cruise information with me so anyway we're looking forward to that. Glad you guys are loving the van life. As you know we sold our motorhome and we don't plan to get another one
Your van looks awesome and all your upgrades are well thought out. Love the drawers and I would love to see the new promaster lights on at night? The garage area is amazing❤
Go do the Demster highway to Artic océan you wont regret, the Tombstone territorial Park in Yukon is fantastic. After that Dawson city visit is nice. Have a nice trip, from Nicole and Raymond of Saint Eustache Québec Canada
You can go go the Artic ocean by the Dalton highway Alaska but you can not Drive dirrectly to the océan, you have to take a tour because it's private Property.

I had a coil go out,so I had one installed.About a year ago I did new heavy duty coils I found on Amazon and new plugs, and replace a 4 inch cooler hose underneath the intake manifold, also moving away from batteries for solar generator. I will be 6 years in June 2024
The upgrades are lovely! Best of luck as you head to Alaska!

Go do the Demster highway to Artic océan you wont regret, the Tombstone territorial Park in Yukon is fantastic. After that Dawson city visit is nice. Have a nice trip, from Nicole and Raymond of Saint Eustache Québec Canada
+@raymondsenecal8943 I think we are skipping the dempster. We might try to drive to the attic circle via the Yukon.
You can go go the Artic ocean by the Dalton highway Alaska but you can not Drive dirrectly to the océan, you have to take a tour because it's private Property.
A GREAT video, exciting to see all your changes on the van. Can’t wait to tag along with you to Alaska ( my favorite state).
We are excited to start this journey north!
