This entire sequence can be summed up as “painfully cruel, yet oddly justified horror.” The fact that the game forces you to kill most of the people in that facility, as emmerich guilt trips you really does add onto the amount of guilt you truly feel by the end of this. And the fact that you find one potential survivor, only for him to be infected as well really does rub salt in the wound. Kojima and his team did a damn great job at forming this entire sequence, and nothing you say can convince me otherwise.
yeah, this mission is one of the most memorable moments of video games. it's something that makes you to see the world different after you play. it's incredible we need to get our hands dirty for Huey, he was the one guilty about this all and yet he still paint us as the monster.
@@caiocouto3450i find it quite similar to the white phosphorus scene in spec ops the line, in that game you killed innocent civilians through a monitor as it kinda dehumanizes the people you kill but here it’s up close and personal to men and women who trusted you so I don’t know which is worse
9:50 the gunshots in the background, i feel like this is a reference to the end, last day in outter heaven. When Venom listens the tape in front of the mirror is the exact same vibes, all of his men are dying for him and he knows his time has come.
Part of what makes this mission so goddamn brutal is that the game UI and etc. still report everything like it's just a normal death that happened on the field. Almost like the game showing the harshness of the world they are in, in spite of this being to Snake like killing his family.
The bit that really crushes your heart is the fact that you can constantly hear "A staff member has died." as well as the heroism dropping for every staff member you kill. Even though you had no other choice, you were still the one who put a bullet in the heads of your most trusted allies. That is what turns Venom Snake into Demon Snake.
dude i fucking played this years ago, and this part, it fucking made me cry the most, i paused the game for several mins or i just waited there because i didnt want to shoot my own men. anyone else with me?
Did you even play the game? Code Talker already mentioned during the first meeting that Snake was infected. The reason he didn't went full CoD Zombies during this mission is because the parasite in him didn't mutate
This is one of the saddest and painful missions you have to go through cause you have to kill your own brothers and it just proves the Painful Hell Snake goes through but peopl need to know this is what it means to be a leader cause in some cases you have to make the difficult and hardest choices for the well fare and safety of the others but like code talker said your giving them a merciful death ☠️
Nah bro this scene made me really sad bro like killing own man and i turned into demon snake for ever after this mission i completed ep 45 and got ten thousand heroism but my snake still has blood on him 😔
Tbh, i could never get demon snake, it feels like i have to make a nuke to do that. Neither can i go back to normal snake i'm just stuck as semi demon snake.
i haven't played very much of this game so i probably don't understand this fully, but why do you get a penalty for putting infected people out of their misery/stopping said infection from spreading? isn't doing that a good thing?
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain made by Hideo Kojima It is a 3rd person stealth-action game that involves geo-political espionage and a fictitious take on historical events. It is also made by a man named Hideo Kojima, who is an insane person who is also insanely talented. The plot is very smart and you need to be paying attention, and at the same time it also makes no fucking sense the first time you play. It will reward you for paying attention and playing through. It is also a mature game, not because of sex or violence but because it actually deals with mature subject matter such as avoiding killing African Child Soldiers, who you *will* be in combat *against* at one point and will be trying to kill you. It's open world and allows a lot of flexibility on how you take objectives, and allows for EXTENSIVE creativity. It's very good. When you become pretty good at the game, you can complete it non-lethally for the most part. This is one of the parts that force you to kill for very well-explained plot reasons. You know why this is happening and you will be emotionally compromised. With Metal Gear Solid coming out again soon, this is a series to get into.
This mission definitely traumatized us. My least favorite part was when that guy said, “So you ARE here to kill us!”
Because we are.

@@MS-LOL fitting that this happened before I made my WMD,this scene broke me down.

"It's just a game"
Much more than a game😢
I'm playing games since 2010 and can't believe i never played it when it was launched.
But I'm glad i played it now
They said that about spec ops the line too
It just a prank

It breaks my heart everytime i Saw the Boss bow to the ground like that!😢😭
The way the game tells you their name before you kill them...

I never did this mission so i guess thats how it looks like if you lost against the virus.
This is a mission of the main story, it is not related to lost or win. If you want to complete the game, you must do this mission.
So you never beat the game?
I cant remember this level nope
Bro didnt finish the Game
you just didn't finished the game. You have to do all missions and side ops and eventually you are going to unlock all endings
Venom is no match for Big Boss but they could have make him more likeable than an introvert copy of BB.
I remember why I forgot this mission now…

So much slow motion and shacking in MGSV.
Hideo Kojima was a film-addict growing up, and still is. Movies around this time were utilizing both frequently.
You can turn off reflex mode and shaking in the settings.
