Can't wait for Blueskin Bay video. As a kid our family had a crib at Warrington and we spent a lot of weekends at the beach and eating shell fish Cockles & Oysters. There is a large oyster bed that even locals don't know about. I was there last March and the bed is still there and healthy. Clue follow the oyster catchers!
ha ha, cheers mate, I just finished the next video, which is about learning on the road, I tried to mix it up with warrington, but it just didn't work. But that one will be coming, such a great area.
Gidday Leopards, another great adventure. Boy oh boy you had my mouth salivating, watching Toby cook those cockle fritters, and you are so on to it, they are the sweetest of shellfish. I can remember we camped at Ohiwa campground one time, and some body told us that there were juicy pipis in the Waitahe estuary entrance. So Anne and I walked 4.5k from camp to river entrance, and it was so worth the 9k round trip walk to find some and cook them up as fritters, people thought we were crazy walking that far, but it was truly worth the walk. loved the Aurora lights again Mike, awesome.
That is a big walk along the coast Toby would have done that 9km with a bucket as well lol... Totally worth it to him... I agree the sweetest of the shell fish
Awesome vido, so cool seeing the southern lights, I've never seen them, so definitely bucket listing that event and Toby i would eat those cockle fritters they looked scrumptious. Love this channel, thnx for the views
thanks mate, yes it was a hard road to get started, but so rewarding now we're doing it, and thanks to Soph who works online to keep us feed and truck fueled.
G,day from across the ditch in Queensland Australia. Geez just love watching your videos and so refreshing to see great family content. Nz is so beautiful, just makes me want to go visit again. Enjoy watching thankyou.
What a great video - those Lights are amazing - loved the time lapse. We’re in Rotorua at the moment and Toby’s golf ball rolling reminded us of the Zorb!
@leopardsgowild I'm thinking of going to South Bay Kaikoura on boxing day, fish, paddle board and swim (hopefully with Dolphins) then head over to Nelson Creek by New Years Day.
Hi 👋 from Wanganui. Just found you. Hubby and I would love to do what your doing. But our children are grown up and have children of there own. Wonderful to see our beautiful country ❤️ 😀 😊. XOXO
I miss my kids when they were young and we went camping. They are all adults now, my grandson is nearly old enough to take fishing can't wait. Thanks for sharing
Time goes so fast a mate, just flick back through the videos it's amazing how much our kids are growing up, so glad we are taking this time to travel with them.
GREAT VID BRO! tobes has some epic imagination!! awesome for riley abt, the horses!!!!!! great vlog tea,. thx for sharing! hope all is well! see yah in the next 1!!!!
Thanks Cam. Cool kids aye the next video is about their schooling so some cool things to show hope your doing well man. We've been so full on hanging with another family, I'm slipping behind again
My step kids and I would get cockles and pipis from the beach on Waiheke Island and put them into a bowl of fresh water for 10 mins so they'd spit out the sand. Then simmer on the stove and eat them straight from the shells!!
Great episode guys. Great music too. Just a heads-up, last week of November, I'm in Murchison. All of December over the hill in Golden Bay. My offer still exists, of a feed. There is a secret spot for tuatuas too, in Golden Bay. Good bait for snapper. And yep snapper are on the move. Just saying. Hey we've got to get you up to 10k subbers. Until next time. Take care.
Thanks mate. We're gonna be South for a while yet, so you enjoy Golden bay. Looking forward to catching some fish when we head down to the coast. bring on 10k subs aye.
Yes, I would eat one of Toby's fritters. However I used to be a take it straight out of the shell and dip it in vinegar person, I would do that with pippis too. In saying that I am not one for shellfish much anymore. As for the seal pup, looking at it makes me want to take it and look after it until it is old enough, but I am guessing that it must be all right. It looked healthy enough.
@@leopardsgowild We spent the summer holidays as kids out at Parongahau Beach. So it was mostly pippis that we would go and find. But we had friends that would camp all summer at Pourerere Beach who would come with cockles at odd times.
My family always camps down the road at the Waikouaiti motor camp every Christmas for a few weeks and I never new that camp was there looks like a camp me and my grandparents might have to try in there camper van, if you come to Dunedin a camp I would recommend is the Taieri mouth holiday camp at Knarston Park it’s great when it’s not to windy but I think you might need to pay, and you can chuck out a fishing rod because the kahawai run up the river this time of year and it’s only a 1 minute walk down onto the beach , safe travels
Cheers mate, Taieri mouth is a cool place, we've been there but not stayed. We try and free camp when we can or at least low camp, most camp grounds charge us about $70 - $120 a night. Looking forward to getting into a bit of fishing this summer.
Another good watch Mike that was an awesome beach spot. I was just watching the mount aspiring station episode again can anyone 1 camp there or do you need the station's permission it looks such an amazing spot.
yes anyone can camp there, it's on Wiki camps, but it's tough access and no facilities at all... Take plenty of bug spray in summer sand flies are prolific.
Our favorite spot was Warrington Domain a lot nicer than the nzmca park. Did you go up to the historic buildings on the headland from where you camped. The red barn was a marker for our off shore fishing spot. You could cross the Katitane bar 2 hours before and 2 hours after high tide.
Warrington Domain was closed I think due to all the rain they had, had when we were in the area, you could park on the tarseal car park but not on the grass. We loved the NZMCA park, lots of open space for the kids to run around.
Hi, I am researching a caravan for permanent living and have reached out to inside out rv. You may have a video already that you can point me to, but if your don’t mind me asking, what was the deciding factor on choosing your rv and what regrets do your have? what would you change (aside from lithium batteries). Would you buy the same rv again?
Hey there, sorry about the late reply, we've been off grid for the last 5 days. We are happy with our caravan, it seems all brands have their issues though, and we've def heard some people having problems with our brand of caravan which is nextgen manafactured by Network RV in Australia, they build for a lot of companies. I'd do a good job on the batteries, and really make sure you got what you ordered and paid for, there were a few changes they made which left us with a cheaper alternative than what we paid for ie, our diesel heater and caravan handles which get hammered by the kids. The caravan has not failed us in the more than 2 years we've been living in it though.
Awesome video. Great secenere and Aurora! I was out that night too. Bit not it was not as beautiful on the coast. What do you use to capture it? Thanks
Thank you, beautiful beach and amazing Aurora aye, I just use my gopro to capture it, I put it on a night sky lapse, and set it for 10seconds per frame, and it does the rest.

Great Video the leopards, Thanks for sharing about an area not on the tourist track
thanks mate, def not many tourists out these spots, just a few kiwis.
Love your videos. The aurora.....WOW, WOW, and WOW. Thanks.
It was such an amazing display of the Southern lights 😍😁

Some great new spots to park at, yes I would try your cockal patties Toby, yum
Those Aurora lights were great, nature delivering the goods 👌
Cockles party is on... Do you guys have travel plans for the summer?
@leopardsgowild I'm thinking of going to South Bay Kaikoura on boxing day, fish, paddle board and swim (hopefully with Dolphins) then head over to Nelson Creek by New Years Day.
❤ watching your adventures guys!

Oh thats so cool, welcome to our channel. We have some great adventures and it's nice to share them on TH-cam for the world to see.
Great natural views. Even better family views. I love Toby’s creativity. Good job parent Leopards.
I love what games and activities my kids come up with just by using nature, making the most of every opportunity.
Great timelapses
Thanks, I love time lapses, it shows how much movement there is going on.
It is an awesome area to camp at and walk along the beach. There are mussels on the rocks also
We saw those mussels but we love cockles the most, looking forward to some more diving this summer
I miss my kids when they were young and we went camping. They are all adults now, my grandson is nearly old enough to take fishing can't wait. Thanks for sharing

Your channel is growing nicely... and so it should. Keep it up 😊
Thank you, Yes it's been a slowly and steady growth for our channel which has been nice to watch.
Thanks for the cockles tip 😊
You bet! Any time, definitely worth a try
GREAT VID BRO! tobes has some epic imagination!! awesome for riley abt, the horses!!!!!! great vlog tea,. thx for sharing! hope all is well! see yah in the next 1!!!!

@leopardsgowild that's ok!!!!! Live your life. Don't force the edits,, summer just showed up, enjoy itn
@@CHillAdventures I know right... It's nice to have a fun family that we gel with so well.
We steam the cockles or clams until they open. Then dip the meat into butter, garlic and a bit of vinegar. So yummy! A tangy butter taste.
Yum garlic butter is so good.
Cool guys😊👍
thanks mate.
My step kids and I would get cockles and pipis from the beach on Waiheke Island and put them into a bowl of fresh water for 10 mins so they'd spit out the sand. Then simmer on the stove and eat them straight from the shells!!
I think collecting your own food is so cool. I'm looking forward to getting fruit from the fruit trees you see on the sides of the rd this summer
Beautiful southern lights! Still can’t believe I went to bed at 11pm and missed the best of it 😂
I think this was a different display, I remember the one you went to bed early on. This one was awesome tthough
Great Arora sky, fritters look good,we'll done Toby 😊
Thank you 😋 he loves doing them, such a cool kid.
Love Dunedin and Otago
oh same mate, such a great part of NZ, although that easterly wind can bugger off.

Hey Linley haven't heard from you in a while. That seal looked so cute aye. Cockles are delicious, where did you use to get them from?

@ the price of camp grounds are insane when most of the freedom camps are just as good , good luck with the fishing over the summer
Yea I would definitely have a cockle patty , how do you flush the sand out of them though
we don't find cockles to be sandy, tuatuas are def very sandy, cockles not.

Whacka- white (iti). Famous in our family when my dad stopped an idiot trying to shoot dolphins surfing in the waves.
why on earth would someone shoot at dolphins.

@leopardsgowild i need one of those. Which model? Can use it on motorbike too.
Awesome video as usual. I downloaded the wiki camps ap, but it wanted me to pay. Perhaps I got the wrong ap?
No you need to pay it's like $3 or something but then you have it for life
What's the app you use for the aurora?
Just google Leopards go wild Aurora app.
