Shop Talk #3 - The REAL Reason to Buy a Laser Engraver

This episode of the "Shop Talk" series is about laser engraving and cutting machines. This one is brief but full of information. We'll go over what we think is the real reason to buy a laser engraver for your woodworking business or other type of business. We do not mean to discredit the hobbyist either! Recreational laser users should find this video informative as well.
The laser shown in the video (not the thumbnail though) is the xTool M1 10 watt laser. See, the laser I use is a very safe model that is enclosed. You can only film it through tinted plastic. As such, it makes it tough to film and get good thumbnail pictures. We also run the air assist kit with this unit for cleaner cuts. We have several helpful videos for setting up the M1 and installing the air assist kit, if you happen to have this machine as well.

Lasers have come so far in just the 8 or so years since we got our first one! I'd definitely recommend one to anyone. If you have a little woodworking skill and some tools, you can prepare material for yourself and become a miniature factory.
