Roger Waters and David Gilmore are poets, they know how to touch your emotions by putting their poetry to music. I hate that their paths have separated
Army vet. Once divorced. And the album Final Cut has some very stirring lyrics on some of the songs. It gets a bit dusty. Being divorced and with young kids, and watching the film version of The Wall will get to you.
56 yr old MNarine Gulf War vet and former-(a lot of brutal things.) Floyd levels me. I actually parse out my listening events, especially if I have important things to do. I won't do them. I go wherever it is that Floyd takes us each time.
Music is meant to touch the soul and reflect emotions through organized sound. You cry when you listen to Pink Floyd because they are simply one of the best at producing real music that touches us all on a deep personal and emotional level. Gilmour plays with conviction, he plays what he means and means what he plays.
I'm a 60 year old man and have been listening to Pink Floyd for 50 of those years. Not long ago I was driving down the highway listening to "shine on you crazy diamond". Tears rolled down my face. Its inexplicable.
It happens to me as well. I'm 54 and every time I've heard this song, especially, after the age of 30 or so, when I'd finally listened to and understood the lyrics.
67 here and I first heard them as a 17 year old raised on old style country music. Their music is woven into my life and many wonderful memories have their music as a background. Thank you again for such a beautiful reaction.
Stacey, don't you worry about the tears, I'm 64 and have been crying at 99% of the stuff Pink Floyd turn out, David, Nick, Richard and Roger were just the best band ever, period, no other band has had an effect on people more than these lads.
Are you the same guy who keeps repeating the same sentence in similar versions of every Floyd video on here? "You don't hear P/F you EXPERIENCE them"...How profound. This is the internet, if it has been said before, IT HAS BEEN HEARD!!!
I'm 75. Look out over the vast, unimaginative, dull, dreary pop/hip-hop musical landscape of the past 30 years. Then listen to Pink Floyd. You now understand why many in my generation weep for yours. How amazing that young people today are discovering the music that has enriched the lives of Boomers for many years. Enjoy your journey!
The music floating on top is always a mix of forgettable and greatness, and that is true today, as it was then. The 70s was a particularly magical decade, but there was an epic ton of crap then as well. That's all been filtered out by now though.
The funny thing is, the younger generations have all these computers and pedals and inexpensive equipment...they could easily make music like PF if they wanted, but they usually just want to make electronic beats made by a machine.
The tears mean you're doing it right. Fine musicians are not just making pleasant sounds. They are trying with everything in them; the lyrics, the music, the staging, and the performance; to convey an emotion; to make you feel something. Some people won't let themselves have the experience but, If you're open to it, it's an experience like no other. Thanks for being open.
It’s lovely to see a beautiful young woman who is open emotionally to the music of a bunch of old, British guys who wrote their best work 50 years ago….it says a lot about you and them…a deep communication across the ages, nations, sexes. Brava Stacey, you’ve tumbled down one of the most astonishing and rewarding rabbit holes on Earth…enjoy the journey!
❤ I really like your reaction, your sensitivity moves me! When I first listened to Pink Floyd's music I was like you, I had tears in my eyes and chicken flesh. 50 years later it still has the same effect on me😁!
Hi here to at a 61 year old and i grew up like yourself with floyd There just Floyd doing what they do best. Giving us there music and knowledge. Peace my friend
I love so much music, but PF really tugs at my heart, whilst I agree with everything you said, I find there music celestial, breathtakingly awe-inspiringly magnificent ❤
The way we listened to this music back in the day, was on big speakers, attached to a great stereo system, playing vinyl, with a group of friends. Music lovers today really don't know how much of the full experience they are missing. But it's gratifying to see new generations appreciating the timeless rock music from the golden age. Keep exploring, and enjoy - you have a lot of catching up to do. 😉
AND I STILL DO MAN AT 76 YRS OLD!!!!! WHEN I GREW UP AND SUCKED IN THIS MUSIC LIVE IN CONCERT, I STILL HAVE MY BLOW OUT STEREO SURROUND TO RELIVE MY WHOLE LIFE ❤❤
PF reach places in your emotions that no one else can. I’ve been tearing up for over 50 years ….cathartic. I love your genuine reaction opening yourself to us….your amazing and beautiful. Hugs from the UK!
Feel free to cry your eyes out. I've been doing so since the very first day i heard them back in 69, and i still tear down today in 2024 every time i played them. Enjoy this magical tour of a life time
Speaking of the backup vocalist, I strongly recommend you react "Great Gig In The Sky" from this concert. All three vocalists get to shine individually.
@@Ramesangel Not to take away from the Pulse performance but, the performance from "A Delicate Sound Of Thunder" is much, much better. In my humble opinion, this is a better concert.
Hearing someone get reeled in by Pink Floyd and really being able to articulate what they are feeling is so satisfying. It’s like a time machine taking you back to your own personal experience and reliving that moment.
You hit the nail on the head. The emotion that this band and especially this song bring forth, is just unexplainable. Truly one of the best bands of all time.
As usual, a phenomenal reaction and a wonderful way of explaining your experience of music. I am 65 years old... my youth and growing up were marked by Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath and Deep Purple... under the influence of these I became a musician (drummer) myself... I played professionally for about thirty years... now retired myself...I want to say that I am extremely glad to see that a person as young as you responds remarkably to the music of these bands and recognizes without fail all the true values in their music. Once again- well done Stacy and keep it up!
You're welcome ... you really deserved it ... And yes - you should in some way (a little) regret not growing up at that time because your soul and your sensibility are obviously very close to those times ... but as you are she herself said - it's never too late ... thanks to modern technologies you have the opportunity to discover all the beauty of former music when people really played and were really engaged in real art and not computers (let's be clear - I have nothing against modern technologies - I use them a lot myself )...just keep going - you're on the right track!@@StaceyRPGReacts
That was also my up bringing, altho my dad didn't like those groups, he was a Beatles only man, still today I cannot please him with Pink Floyd. Maybe a little closed personality, because if you can't go into this material, you're probably going to have a bad "trip"
Ive listened to Pink Floyd for over 50 years. When you said 'i need them' something clicked. Ive needed them all these years and didnt realise what i was feeling. Thank you.
Ive heard all the radio hits but never dived into their whole albums old and newer.boy did I find gold!! the intrumental "marooned" really caught my ear and i put it as nr 1 on a "chill" playlist cos I was planning on doing a psycedelic trip on magic mushrooms for the first time and felt that kinda music would be fitting. as the trip was beginning to brew I put on "marooned" on utube with alot of space pictures from Hubble telescope. OMG.... as the quirky "woooop" sound played at the intro I was thrown into a different experience of music and visuals. it all came together in a amazing trip.my cat that was laying on my foot rest became a fairytale version xD then utube played next song sorrow. also incredible! I was not listening to music,I was having a other wordly experience :D I listen to enitre albums of PF that night. it gave my soul a new life cos I was kinda burnt out and depressed. this was soul medecine in all the levels possible. PF and pcilocybin mushrooms changed my life . a spiritual rebirth :D
You are not the only one who is crying . David Gilmours guitar playing is not from this world. I would recommend to watch the live version of "High Hopes" and "The Great Gig In The Sky" from the Pulse Concert. Thanks for your wonderful reaction. Lets dive in the world of Pink Floyd :)
Agreed on both songs. However, I would choose High Hopes live from David Gilmour Live from either Remember That Night dvd or Live in Gdansk with whole orchestra. Either is a masterpiece. Especially with classical guitar ending. On Great Gig in the Sky. I think new comers should be introduced with original studio recording from Dark Side of the Moon to showcase Clare Torry's phenomenal vocal performance. Heck, Stacey should do WHOLE Darkside album. We'll need a whole box of tissues for that one. And then 2 boxes of tissues for Shine On You Crazy Diamond alone.
@dskellfloyd.9347 Amused to Death is one of my favs. Beck is great on It's A Miracle and Three Wishes. Though I do think Gilmour would elevate to a whole new level. My taste. Your taste may be different. That's the beauty of art. Something for everyone.
Believe me, when David lets rip, there's hardly a dry eye in the house! During the Pulse tour (yes, I was there THAT night!), I saw grown men weeping on each other's shoulders - not too clearly because I was sobbing all the way through it myself. The whole night was so overwhelming. It was a religious experience.
I can confirm this...I wasn't at the Earl's Court show that became the Pulse show, but I saw them on the Division Bell tour, on which they did the exact same show...It was just as magical as you think it'd be.
I was at their Earl's Court, London gig in 1994 when the gig was pulled as the intro to the show was underway because there had been a partial seat collapse. No serious injuries thankfully. We all came back 2 weeks later. It's like a two hour trip, Stacey. Tears don't come into it when it's vibrating live through your body. Mind you, we were also stoned off our faces which probably contributed to the experience😂 But al these years later listening and watching this and you on my phone i still feel the same sensations. You're reaction is beautiful. Thank you and bestvwishes to you❤
This is why David Gilmour is considered to be one of the all time greats. His emotions come out of his guitar playing. You just feel it deep down to the core. Check out High Hopes from Pulse, or the album version from The Division Bell. Just a beautiful ride!
Pink Floyd is about as rare as it gets for emotive psychological psychedelic music. When listening to them, I often think of how lucky the world is to have this band. I tear up still, and I appreciate them more the older I get. It's insane that the bulk of this transcendent work was stuff they'd written in their 20's. You're definitely still on the tip of the pink iceberg. Great seeing you react, thank you!
Back in O.C. Calif when I was 30 my wife heard a commercial on the radio about a David Gilmour show coming up. Knowing I am a Floyd fan she called the radio station (KMET - LA, “The Mighty Met”) to get information on the concert, The DJ on live radio Cynthia Fox…. said...."Congratulations, YOU are caller number 10, YOU just won tickets to the show and the Sound Check Party before the show"... I met David Gilmour back stage. He gave us both a signed album that I have in my music room. We talked for 22 minutes. I called him…“The Master Of The Stratocaster” He smiled. I told him his music will stand the test of time with anything from Beethoven or Mozart. He smiled even bigger. I asked if I could shake both his hands that make such great guitar solos, he smiled bigger and said “Sure” and shook both hands at the same time, making a cross between us, I smiled HUGE. Hard to explain how awesome that moment was in my life. I asked him to describe his technique of playing guitar, he replied… “I strike a note, bend it, shake it and then release it”…. Yes, he does that quite well, better than any other guitarist I know. . I told him in my eyes he’s a “Legend“. He thanked me and said “Enjoy the show”…. during the concert after the song “Money” he looked right at me and said…. “On saxophone, another Legend, Mr. Raphael Ravenscroft” … acknowledging my comment to him. It is my favorite moment in over 300 shows I’ve seen. I asked David…. How do you create those awesome solos?… he said….. I sit on a stool and listen to what Roger, Nick and Rick put down and play along. I listen to what I played and pick out what I like, then I put the pieces together into one piece then learn to play it as one. Our fans are fanatics for our shows to sound like the albums so I must play it correctly each time in a show. I have the concert Brochure and album on the wall with David’s picture centerfold.
Isnt that the prime example of what makes a great artist. They listen, they perceive, they are in tune with the world. It is not about them, it is about the greater creation.
Beyond envious, I saw David 6 times in concert, 4 with Pink Floyd, but never met him, what an awesome memory! He is an example of the very best of humanity, both for his music and for his philanthropy.
@@MaudeWhite-yc6ji I met VH in 1979, in their trailer for an hour back stage and got all their autographs.on my stage patch hanging in my music room. Great memories.
@AliasMark69 u guna stay in Cali bro? Tell me ur not the 1 person voted 4 kreepy jo... u need to leave and bring all that great memorabilia n wife to the south man while can...
It is so gratifying to watch someone discover what sets Pink Floyd apart from other bands. It's the emotion they are able to convey through their music that makes them so special. David Gilmour can tap into your soul with his voice and his guitar.
This is a masterpiece of music history. The lyrics, the harmonies, Nick Mason's drumming, the percussion, Guy Pratt's deep bass, the depth of Richard Write's keyboards and the undeniable 'soul shredding' sound of Dave Gilmore, all perfectly produced to reach your deepest emotions.
First of all, A+ for not pausing during a Gilmour guitar solo. I've listened to Pink Floyd since the 70s, and their music still wraps around my soul every time. Great reaction, young lady.
The older you get, the more emotional their songs become. None as much as their song "Time". I'm 60 yrs old, heard the song thousands of times, but , until recently, never felt the lyrics as much as I do now
This is so true. They’ve been my favorite band since I was 17. I’m 46. I feel the music so much more deeply now. And I get the goose bumps every. Single. Time.
Your not the first person I’ve seen tear up listening to this band. I’ve seen people absolutely break down bawling for minutes at a time . They just touch peoples emotions with the sound they create. It’s magic
I would say the reason you get emotional with their music is that it’s touching your soul and it resonates with you deeply. I feel the same and have for 50 years.
You cry because they speak to your heart. They've been making me weep for 50 years because their music reasonates with my soul. This performance gets me every time - if I'm not already crying, I am when Machan screams that high note at the moment of peak energy. There is so much more, you have a journey ahead of you with PF. I look forward to watching - great reaction!
Pink Floyd is something you feel, as much as listen to. They make you think, reflect, and have always found the absolute shortest distance between your heart, brain and soul. They are unique in that they elicit so much feeling while still marvelling at the incredible music they created. Loved your reaction, and the way you allow yourself to just be in the moment with them. Thanks for sharing!! Been listening to Floyd for over 45 years and I still am moved by them every single day. No idea where my life would be without their music.
From a very very old metal rock head, who has experienced Pink Floyd live 3 times and their songs millions of times. I’m so glad your revisiting Pink Floyd and yes you will get emotional, Pink Floyd is all about the experience of the song, so enjoy the tears as I have again from a very very old biker metal head. Your not tearing up along but your supported by millions of Pink Floyd fans who are tearing up along side you. I’m really enjoying your discovery of this multigenerational band. I suggest keeping with the pulse concert, Run Like Hell, Learning to Fly, Sorrow, and High Hopes, to start. Stay Safe Rock On, God Bless. 🙏🥲🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
I’m 61 years old. Started listening to my oldest sister’s albums. Pink Floyd hit me around 10 years of age. I’ve had this same reaction for the last 51 years. I’m still amazed at their music. I love to play their music on my acoustic guitars. I understand your reaction, I have it all the time.
Thank you for your video. The closest thing I will ever get to hearing this band again for the first time is reliving that experience through someone else who not only hears it but appreciates it the way you do, so thank you for that. For me, when I discovered them way back when, I had never heard a band put together music as full composers, the way the greats put together symphonies. Every instrument has a purpose, every voice. Even the silences and the builds and fades are there to evoke an emotional experience. The genius, the heart, and the touch of madness that made up the soul of this group captures a feeling like no other band. They didn't make songs, they crafted whole albums in a time when you were meant to put the needle down and let it sit for the whole record and go on the journey with them. Thanks for keeping this alive.
You are so sweet and honest in your reactions. Your channel is going to blow up you have heart ❤️ and passion and your format is great we are here for your musical ride 🙏🏻😉
I saw them play this during their 'Division Bell' tour both in Columbus and Cleveland waaaay back in '94. It was un-real to see it in person. Thanks for reviewing this one!
I believe the song was deliberately written to stir emotion, so your response is proof that it works… we have all had the same experience. When your fan base is in the millions, you can say things about issues that are troubling and difficult for us to face. The message here was about those less fortunate than you or I. If just one person did what the song suggests. In our society, it’s common to “look away” from people suffering. It’s a song about compassion for others around us. Whether you donate to a food bank, or volunteer at a shelter, or look someone in the eyes and offer encouragement. “No More Turning Away” Our fellow humans deserve respect and dignity.
th-cam.com/video/1IVDVLeXBmQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=U9R5W-maGCe7cHkx scrub this video to 1:25 mark. I had read something about during rehearsals David thought it sounded great without any music. love hearing them practice. also later in the video you see them blowing up that pig LOL
I knew of Pink Floyd before this song, but I did not discover them until this song. After, i went back to Wish You Were Here and then Dark Side of the Moon. Music was never the same after this.
I concur about the Nightwish tribute to High Hopes. I used to listen to Pink Floyd's version when Division Bell came out, and saw it live on that tour. A different emotional feel, but David Gilmore apparently liked it. Marko does it justice.
I watched this video again because it's so unbelievably rewarding to see people getting hooked on Pink Floyds music. I grew up in the 80's and have been into music for as long as I can recall, and I can honestly say that I have never come across any other band quite like them. There are a lot of really good bands and musicians out there, but these guys, for me, are it! No other comes close. Like you, I'm at a loss why their music has such an impact on me, but it does. It is sublime and it goes straight to the heart!!
David wrote music to touch every emotion in every person that listened to it , He would write from life experiences from himself or someone close to him. He never got sidetracked with a different sound or something that didn’t tell a story, every song had a meaning and story to tell and he and the band gave us 10000% percent with every song and every performance never giving anything less. David is a class act , down to earth individual , one of those people who would sit down to lunch with a complete stranger just because you started a conversation with him.
Only special souls like yours can feel the depth of Pink Floyd. It's the first time I've seen someone dive, like me, into an introspective experience, even if subjective. From Brazil, I leave you my most affectionate hug.
Anything off of the Dark Side of the Moon album is an musical emotional amusement park for the soul. From the first time I heard Pink Floyd, I knew who would always be my favorite band. Five decades later, no other band has come close to reaching the deepest regions of my heart the way they have. Cheers. ❤❤❤
Wow, to dis Dark Side of the Moon.....I can't believe you are serious. The song Time is a snapshot of how short our lives are and a reminder not to waste our time. Brilliant guitar.. I first heard Dark Side of the Moon when I was a 15yo paperboy. The best band ever..
I “experienced” a 3 hour Pink Floyd show in the late 80’s here in Sydney, Australia. To this day I’ve never experienced anything like that Pink Floyd show again! They were so far ahead of their time - next level and once in a life time!!
Il fatto è che i Pink Floyd non sono stati soltanto una grande band musicale ma pure dei magnifici dispensatori di sogni ed emozioni La chitarra di Gilmour non è inserita soltanto in un amplificatore ma direttamente nell'anima. Saluti italiani 🇮🇹
As others have commented, the backup singers are brilliant and it's easy to miss them but once you listen for them they play a very significant part in the song.
ABSOLUTELY!!! PF has layer-upon-layer of tones, levels, acoustic, electric, percussion, keyboard, performers take their turns at being front-and-center in a song. And you-know-who gets the lion's share of the #1 position, and rightfully so.
5:21 I’m so glad you have a shout out to the drums! Nick Mason is the reason why I got into Pink Floyd and drumming in general. His drumming has such a powerful rhythm and an ear-catching sound that you can’t resist. It always saddens me more reactors don’t give him mentions and/or shout outs. His performance in “Time” from Pulse where it’s shown he plays rototoms in the beginning deserves to be watched soon.
Is it only a dream that there’ll be no more turning away? I’ve never understood how a person could not be moved by this song considering the message. Please cry. It means you’re human. Hope you continue to enjoy your journey into Pink Floyd. Highly recommend Wish You Were Here if you haven’t listened yet.
I have had people ask me what my favorite Pink Floyd song is. My response is whichever song I am listening to at the moment. They play on your heart and emotions. The best band ever!!!
I've said this before and I believe it more now than ever, if the human race survives it's adolescence, in a thousand years, Pink Floyd's music will be heard on a hundred different worlds. It may be already, maybe that's why we have "visitors", they come for the groovy tunes.
Stacy, thank you for being open & sensitive. All you did was allowing your soul to take the ride along with the multitudes of Pink Floyd fans over the last 6 decades. Pink Floyd's a journey, a therapeutic experience. It is understandable that you will get emotionally tested , as nothing these past 30+ years have prepared you for such a stellar display of artistry. Love your reactions. Keep enjoying..
As a Floydian it's so amazing to watch you discover my favourite band! As other floydians suggested, check next 2 emotional songs: Time and The great gig in the sky. They are from their iconic album: The dark side of the moon and in fact, they float from one to another so it's good to liaten them together :)
Another fantastic reaction, if you dont want more tears then please stay away from High Hopes from the Pulse Concert that is a true masterpiece, regarding vocalists not outshining the lead vocal its great to see how David sits back and watchers the vocalists on Great Gig in the Sky also on the pulse concert so much respect given to them by him on that track, great thing with Pink Floyd is if you are feeling low and down, listening to a few of their songs on Pulse or watching people like yourself relive what i felt when i first saw them is such an uplifting healing process
5:06 because Mr Gilmour has one of the most embracing welcoming voices in the world. He has perfected his skill over decades, to sound like your friend before you even met him. His guitar is the same, he has known from day one, what a warm pleasant sound is. You don't have to show off or flex with crazy speed, he just sounds beautiful. Every note he plays on guitar is done with intention, emotion, none are wasted, and he is doing it for the audience, no self indulgence...there is a reason why he is a living legend.
I can listen to this song “on loop” and never get tired of it. I’m absolutely 100% with you on the emotional trip this song takes us into. They don’t make music like this anymore….from the rhythm section to the backup vocals, its absolute perfection!!! (I also cry “on the inside”) I’m touched that you’re touched….just like me!!!
Same here, but I heard my first Pink Floyd song in 1977, at 12 years old, when the Album Animals was released and I was absolutely changed by it and all the previous albums I listened to from that day forward. It has never stopped and here I am today being touched in the same way as 50 years ago watching a young person experience what I did 50 years ago.
Thats why i consider them the best band ever. There lyrics and musicianship is second to none. The back up singers really add so much depth to the song. They're are almost angelic when they harmonize together in this song. Brings tears to my eyes also. Beautiful reaction. You have only scratched the surface of the pink floyd catalog. Keep em coming.
I can explain to you why you react so emotionally: you feel the same as me, even though I'm a lot older (66). BOTH of us have never had the opportunity to attend such a huge concert/event directly and live. And the quality of this experimental music from the 70s and 80s was phenomenal. It hurts to have missed something like that live. And you are happy that you can still enjoy it today thanks to modern technology.
The fact that not only did you not pause the Gilmour solo but had the courtesy to I assume rewind for our viewing experience speaks volume to how much you love and respect Pink Floyd. We all thank you so much for that and I am so happy to see how much Pink Floyd can move the soul.
Beautiful young lady, I'm a 56 yr old man, i was 21 in 88, I would see this very tour in Melbourne Australia, 🤯🤯, you're bang on, there are no words, and absolute out of body, almost other worldly experience!! been floyded since I was a young boy, and still choke up everytime I listen to them, mesmerizing!!
Trust me Stacey, there are lots of people in the crowd with tears in their eyes. I've been "tearing up" since the early 70s and did again while watching this video now. There's lots for you to discover for each first listen of this fantastic group.
'Sorrow'....from their 1994 PULSE concert is another great one to watch the backup singers. This one was from their 1988 concert. Saw them 3 times on their 1988 tour....& twice in 1994. Still remember everything like it was yesterday.
At 10:35 you heard the lady step it up with her voice. Go back to that concert and listen to "The Great Gig in the Sky" I promise you there will be tears. Those ladies are awesome.
Thank you for your honest reaction. I saw this live in Oslo Norway in august 1988. It was my first big show ever and the emotions has stayed with me ever since 😀
Dear Stacy. Thank you for showing us the tidal wave of emotions Pink Floyd brings out in us. Im an old listner to their music, but their impact touches something deep.. something that is difficult to describe with words.
They are SOO emotional and deep in their lyrics, and youre not alone crying to their music. Cleansing your emotions is good for you/us, specially in theese times. Good reaction girl. 😇
I'm a 51 year old x army combat vet and an industrial construction worker and pink floyd makes me cry also.....every time...
Roger Waters and David Gilmore are poets, they know how to touch your emotions by putting their poetry to music. I hate that their paths have separated
im a 53 year old x army too and Pink Floyd make dream and cry and happy at the same time my friend
Army vet. Once divorced. And the album Final Cut has some very stirring lyrics on some of the songs. It gets a bit dusty. Being divorced and with young kids, and watching the film version of The Wall will get to you.
Hell yeah, Sir

Simple as that!
Absolutely agreed 💯
I don't know the details, but have heard from other artists that what David did in tuning his guitar was unique.
There is music, then there's floyd ❤
I’m a 64 year old man and Pink Floyd brings tears to my eyes every day 🥲
I'm a 60 year old man and have been listening to Pink Floyd for 50 of those years. Not long ago I was driving down the highway listening to "shine on you crazy diamond". Tears rolled down my face. Its inexplicable.
Same…
So to feel we share these old emotion with new generations again and again
it occurs when you are in contact whith beauty ...
"Pull up, Pull up!" :) Don't crash and burn, or were you "Learning to fly"?
No doubt. 72 here and David still vibrates my soul like I was 19.
Crying along with you. Pink Floyd is like no other band on the planet.
Me too 😢 I'm crying since 30 years
It happens to me as well.
Same age as you sir. And also at 17 years old heard Pink Floyd for the first time: "One of these days and Astronomy domine"! I was in ecstasy!
you're not alone. It's a common response to Floyd. Gilmour is a master at evoking emotion. His guitar literally sings.
It´s hard to say which one is better, his voice or his guitar playing. Amazing.
Stacey, don't you worry about the tears, I'm 64 and have been crying at 99% of the stuff Pink Floyd turn out, David, Nick, Richard and Roger were just the best band ever, period, no other band has had an effect on people more than these lads.
😂😂😂😂the beatles dirty?😂😂
Amen my brother! I am 76, crying a little longer 😢😮🙂
who's Rodger? oh, the guy who wanted to fire everyone. Richard for sure.
Somebody once said you don't listen to Pink Floyd, you feel them. It's true.
yep
Because Dave Gilmour doesn’t just play guitar he plays emotions
Yes, yes it is.
Are you the same guy who keeps repeating the same sentence in similar versions of every Floyd video on here? "You don't hear P/F you EXPERIENCE them"...How profound. This is the internet, if it has been said before, IT HAS BEEN HEARD!!!
Thats sooo true.
I love your show. Pink Floyd for ever. I’m 80 years old and still after 50 years of P.F. I can’t get enough.
First saw them 1967...

JUST THAT BEAUTIFUL JOURNEY INTO LIFE IM 63 AND FIRST HERD PINK FLOYD AT AGE 12 IT STARTED
You nailed it. Good music should evoke emotion in the listener.
"Music is what emotions sound like" a guy called Tuomas...
Very well said! 👏
Well said my fellow PF fan.
❤
Their music is timeless really..so good...symphonic rock...
❤ I really like your reaction, your sensitivity moves me! When I first listened to Pink Floyd's music I was like you, I had tears in my eyes and chicken flesh. 50 years later it still has the same effect on me😁!
@jyh5322 it sure is incredible how their music affects us.
I'm 61yo and Pink Floyd still effects me exactly the same way. In tears still purely from the beauty of the music. Also, I'm a professional musician.
Hi here to at a 61 year old and i grew up like yourself with floyd There just Floyd doing what they do best. Giving us there music and knowledge. Peace my friend
Hi ! Here I'm 62 and know PF since (for first time) 1979 The Wall than fall in love with them and their work
I too am 61, Stacey cries because it's music from the soal and it's real..................
I love so much music, but PF really tugs at my heart, whilst I agree with everything you said, I find there music celestial, breathtakingly awe-inspiringly magnificent ❤
@@scottkillathats right
The way we listened to this music back in the day, was on big speakers, attached to a great stereo system, playing vinyl, with a group of friends. Music lovers today really don't know how much of the full experience they are missing. But it's gratifying to see new generations appreciating the timeless rock music from the golden age. Keep exploring, and enjoy - you have a lot of catching up to do. 😉
Still playing these incredible songs on BIG speakers, attached to a premium amplifier!
AND I STILL DO MAN AT 76 YRS OLD!!!!! WHEN I GREW UP AND SUCKED IN THIS MUSIC LIVE IN CONCERT, I STILL HAVE MY BLOW OUT STEREO SURROUND TO RELIVE MY WHOLE LIFE ❤❤
And checking out the album sleeve and liner notes
PF reach places in your emotions that no one else can. I’ve been tearing up for over 50 years ….cathartic. I love your genuine reaction opening yourself to us….your amazing and beautiful. Hugs from the UK!
Feel free to cry your eyes out. I've been doing so since the very first day i heard them back in 69, and i still tear down today in 2024 every time i played them. Enjoy this magical tour of a life time
Speaking of the backup vocalist, I strongly recommend you react "Great Gig In The Sky" from this concert. All three vocalists get to shine individually.
Agreed. Pulse gets most of the hype, but this concert is so good, and the three ladies on vocals are incredible, especially on that song.
I was thinking the same, she must react to "Great Gig in the Sky" PULSE live
@@Ramesangel Not to take away from the Pulse performance but, the performance from "A Delicate Sound Of Thunder" is much, much better. In my humble opinion, this is a better concert.
@@Tarkus_ Oh, I agree completely!!
Yes, although Pulse is a better overall production, the musical performance on The Delicate Sound of Thunder, imho, is superior.
I'm 62 yrs old...I've seen Pink Floyd in concert....every song takes you on a different journey each time you hear it
I’m a 61 year old man and they bring tears to my eyes. They are just that powerful.
Same age, I have no tears but ... see above
@@nick-5naudin519 Same age and I shed those tears on your behalf.
Ditto 74 years old
As usual, a phenomenal reaction and a wonderful way of explaining your experience of music.
Aww thank you!! I appreciate your kind words and I’m jealous of your youth! Thank you for the lovely comment
As the saying goes, “I may be old, but at least I got to see all the best bands”
That was also my up bringing, altho my dad didn't like those groups, he was a Beatles only man, still today I cannot please him with Pink Floyd. Maybe a little closed personality, because if you can't go into this material, you're probably going to have a bad "trip"
❤
Carry on brother carry on brother
Then you have a lot to feel a whole lot to feel
Jeff beck blows Gilmour away on amused to death
@dskellfloyd.9347 Amused to Death is one of my favs. Beck is great on It's A Miracle and Three Wishes. Though I do think Gilmour would elevate to a whole new level. My taste. Your taste may be different. That's the beauty of art. Something for everyone.
It's comforting to know a younger generation is experiencing this heart-felt music.
No matter how many times I watch this live version, that belt from Margaret Taylor gives me chills every time.
Right?
AMEN!!!
I've concluded that mankind won't produce this type of music ever again. Absolutely wonderful.
Pink Floyd at Earls Court, the greatest gig in my life.
@@eddiewallace6372 me too... the very last night !
There was my life before seeing them in Tampa in 1994 and then my life after
I was at their Earl's Court, London gig in 1994 when the gig was pulled as the intro to the show was underway because there had been a partial seat collapse.
👍 High Hopes.
I've been listening to Pink Floyd for over 50 years. Seen them live a few times. I listen to them everyday and will listen until the day I die.
Pink Floyd.. is.. pink floyd.. no words.. is feeling, passion, love... goosebumps always
David Gilmore has mastered the art of playing with quality of notes, not quantity. Nobody puts notes in echelon like he does. He is the best.
His guitar sings even better than he does.
Gilmour
Even the silence is notes in their music
It takes a few years to learn how to play guitar but a lifetime to learn what to leave out
Absolutely well, put excellent observation.
His body is so reaches out for each note
Thaaatz better than my VH story kudos to U brother and Ur wife 2
@@MaudeWhite-yc6ji I met VH in 1979, in their trailer for an hour back stage and got all their autographs.on my stage patch hanging in my music room. Great memories.

Single. Time.
I'm 77. I think you are right!
Your not the first person I’ve seen tear up listening to this band. I’ve seen people absolutely break down bawling for minutes at a time . They just touch peoples emotions with the sound they create. It’s magic
We are so blessed to have pink floyd in this strange world.
Well said!
Am 73 and thought am the only one getting emotional when listening to this guitar
Thank you for your sweet words!!! I really appreciate them 🤍
You expressed that well. I agree. Subbed!
I'm 67, grew up with Pink Floyd, classical rock and roll is what I've always called it.
“No More Turning Away”
Our fellow humans deserve respect and dignity.
That whole concert was a big farewell to a generation.
The part where all the band members are singing together with out any music @ 6:51 is quite incredible.
Angelic ..
th-cam.com/video/1IVDVLeXBmQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=U9R5W-maGCe7cHkx scrub this video to 1:25 mark. I had read something about during rehearsals David thought it sounded great without any music. love hearing them practice. also later in the video you see them blowing up that pig LOL
yeah around the 11 minute mark they are inflating the Pig 😂
It brings tears to your eyes because you experience and feel the music inside your soul.
Pink Floyd is more than just music. They changed my life and my way to see life.
I knew of Pink Floyd before this song, but I did not discover them until this song. After, i went back to Wish You Were Here and then Dark Side of the Moon. Music was never the same after this.
High hopes pulse 1994 really displays the complex and beauty of David's voice along with another fabulous solo
100%
Nightwish does an incredible tribute to Pink Floyd with this song.
Totally agree !
Every live performance that Pink Floyd gives is beyond description
Anything off of the Dark Side of the Moon album
is an musical emotional amusement park for the soul. From the first time I heard Pink Floyd, I knew who would always be my favorite band.
Five decades later, no other band has come close to reaching the deepest regions of my heart the way they have. Cheers. ❤❤❤
One of their mediocre albums, real Floyd fans know what albums are much better than dark side
@@dskellfloyd.9347in your self inflated opinion
Wow, to dis Dark Side of the Moon.....I can't believe you are serious. The song Time is a snapshot of how short our lives are and a reminder not to waste our time. Brilliant guitar.. I first heard Dark Side of the Moon when I was a 15yo paperboy. The best band ever..
To me the only band who come close to them in terms of touching the depths of my heart are definitely Radiohead.
You dont just hear Pink Floyd , their music touches the SOUL !
These guys are their own genre. I highly recommend watching the Pulse concert.
I see you’ve already reacted to Comfortably Numb 😂🤘
"These guys are their own genre" - that's perfect. Very well said 👏👏🤘
Agree would even say in there own leauge
I “experienced” a 3 hour Pink Floyd show in the late 80’s here in Sydney, Australia. To this day I’ve never experienced anything like that Pink Floyd show again! They were so far ahead of their time - next level and once in a life time!!
Il fatto è che i Pink Floyd non sono stati soltanto una grande band musicale ma pure dei magnifici dispensatori di sogni ed emozioni
La chitarra di Gilmour non è inserita soltanto in un amplificatore ma direttamente nell'anima.
And Echoes live Pompeii in 72.
At 65 it still does bring tears to my eyes so we share the love of Pink Floyd
Try Great Gig in the Sky, I have been listening to Pink Floyd for over 35 years and this song still makes me cry
I've said this before and I believe it more now than ever, if the human race survives it's adolescence, in a thousand years, Pink Floyd's music will be heard on a hundred different worlds. It may be already, maybe that's why we have "visitors", they come for the groovy tunes.
I saw them play twice on this tour....sublime!
Pink Floyd needs no commentary. You simply FEEL it.
As a Floydian it's so amazing to watch you discover my favourite band! As other floydians suggested, check next 2 emotional songs: Time and The great gig in the sky. They are from their iconic album: The dark side of the moon and in fact, they float from one to another so it's good to liaten them together :)
Been listening to Pink Floyd for over 55 years. No other band can consistently take over your heart and soul when listening to them.
I agree. I have two favorites: Pink Floyd and Stevie Ray Vaughan!
That’s the most beautifully honest reaction I’ve seen on TH-cam. I was crying with you.
The most beautiful emotional wreck I've ever seen! Your reaction completely brought justice to Pink Floyd's magic! Blessings to you!
Well said!
This is an adult band. They tackle tough topics, they understand emotion, they interpret emotion, and they cultivate a great perspective for us.
Nothing compares to Pink Floyd live. They are so genuine.
I discovered Pink Floyd with that song at 9. Changed my life. I m 40.
“It's a sin that somehow Light is changing to shadow and casting it's shroud over all we have known” these words mean more today than ever before.
Your reaction to these pink Floyd songs perfectly portrays the feeling and the reason musicians like me create them ❤❤❤❤
Trust me Stacey, there are lots of people in the crowd with tears in their eyes. I've been "tearing up" since the early 70s and did again while watching this video now. There's lots for you to discover for each first listen of this fantastic group.
You need to watch the whole concert, THE DELICATE SOUND OF THUNDER! It is brilliant!!
That was the cutest reaction ever. Also great that you not just listen the songs, you review them. Love your videos
They are SOO emotional and deep in their lyrics, and youre not alone crying to their music. Cleansing your emotions is good for you/us, specially in theese times. Good reaction girl. 😇
thank you for this good song . P F best band of all times , 😎👍 next one from Pink Floyd - Shine on you crazy diamond 1 to 5 ( studio version ) . 🎸🎶
I concur
