I envy you, I am a big fan but missed to go to any of their concerts or Gilmours solo concerts. Not sure if Gilmour will do a live tour again, loved the CD live in Gdansk Poland. I saw Pink Floyd in 1980, "The Wall" concert, it was the most incredible, phenomenal performance I've ever seen, of any kind, in all my 68 years on this planet! Simply astounding!
I was at the Earl's Court Pulse concert and you are exactly right, I kept looking around at the crowd and it was amazing, people weren't jumping about cheering instead they were just sat there staring at the stage trying to take it all in like they were transfixed. The entire concert, it was just unreal, surreal. Sadly they didn't do this song at Pulse, it's one of my favourites and I would have loved to hear it live.
1 song at Pulse that people stood was "Run Like Hell". Fans know that P.F. is music you sit and listen not just hear. At home lights out headphones and a big fatty
I am a classically trained musician in piano first, then guitar, and for fun bass. My mother was first chair in Boston Pops under Arther Fiedler before John Williams. I only say all that to say this... I wish I had written this song!!! Thank you for covering this. His (David Gilmore) blues hits me to this day. That kind of feeling knows NO trend! One of my favorite songs speaking as an Irishman. Just now subscribed. Please just keep doing what ya do. GO BOSTON BRUINS!!! 🍻🤟👏
I had the rare opportunity to see David Gilmour live in 2015. It was an experience in music that description fails to give a fair representation. Truly something special that I feel blessed to have been witness to.
This is one of my favorites, and yes, I saw them live in Montreal on the Division Bell tour. The classy trio of PF backup singers adds so much to the soundscape. You almost don't want it to end.
I was at the Dark Side of the Moon concert and it was the most intense and satisfying experience (in music anyway) that I've ever had! The band was so on it and the energy from them was contagious, but the crowd was mostly just standing there, taking it all in. There wasn't much dancing or movement as in other concerts I've been to, but there was a LOT of singing!
YESSSSSS -- I was at PINK FLOYD LIVE in Indianapolis Indiana USA at the HOOSIER DOME back in the early mid 90's. Tickets were given to me as a Birthday gift. PINK FLOYD was my favorite for years before I ever went and they are still my NUMBER #1 band of all time. There were ABSOLUTELY AMAZING
I had the honor to see them a few times life - and at the end of every concert as the lights in the arena turned on and realize - this is over I thought: no yet i have to go back in normal ife - i don´t want to ^^
Not only have I seen them live, as you asked... They were my first concert in 1975 for Wish You Were Here tour. Then I've seen every tour since, with this show twice.
I’ve been to 4 live shows, one of which was this tour. And yes, they are literally an amazing live experience (and I’ve seen many of the greats in rock history) Greatest band of all times
Hi Maggie. Yes, I was fortunate enough to see Pink Floyd on tour in May 1994 in the old Foxboro Stadium in Massachusetts while they were on the Division Bell Tour (a.k.a. PULSE concert), so it was a few years after this concert. This song, as you're probably already aware, was from the 'Momentary Lapse of Reason' album, and this was from that tour. And yes, when I saw them perform in 1994, it was an amazing experience! The best concert I ever attended. Great reaction!
I saw this tour in Providence, RI in 1987 and then twice in 1988 in Foxboro, MA on the stadium leg of the tour. Also saw them twice on the Pulse tour again in Foxboro in 1996. The show was beyond belief for that era and still a benchmark for all live shows to aspire to being. I've seen hundreds and hundreds of concerts over my 57 years and there are very few show I have gone to that have left such a strong lasting memory as those nights, especially the stadium shows. I can still picture the lights cutting through the fog on one night and the echo behind me sitting in the opposite end zone as the sound carried through the parking lot.(I had close seats the first night, I chose to be in the end zone the second night just to take in the entire spectacle of all the lights) The fact that was 30 years ago and these videos bring back those memories speaks to how special those concerts were. Funny thing is I can't remember what I had for breakfast two days ago but I can remember those details.
So David Gilmour is reknown for wanting live performances to sound like his studio versions of his songs. He is a perfectionist when it comes to his guitar sounding the same live as it did when he recorded the song. His guitar solos will always stand out he has a certain sound no other guitarist will sound like him during a solo. You hear a song on the radio and immediately know its David Gilmour playing guitar on this song.
I saw Dark Side and Wish You Were Here. Nothing, compares. I’ve seen Led Zeppelin, Derp Purple, the Stones, The Who, Dylan, Yes , the Eagles, Queen, ELP, Wishbone Ash, Doobies etc. all in the 70’s and those two concerts were the best ever. It wasn’t just music, it was a life changing experience…
It's nice to see contemporary appreciation of some of the finest musical works of all time. Each artist as well as the group as a whole display incredible musicianship as well as musicality. The depth of the lyrics never cease to amaze, especially considering how young they were when it was created
I've seen Pink Floyd many times live in concert. Especially during the 1987 and 1994 tours. I treasure each time. It's a journey and experience to say the least. It's something similar to a religious experience. Beautiful 💗
I saw this tour live in Providence, Rhode Island, also saw the Pulse tour at RFK Stadium. The keyboard Richard Wright is playing at the beginning is a Roland JX10, I've got one sitting next to my desk. They're a big influence on my music.
I saw this tour twice, once in Cleveland and then again in Pittsburgh. Then a few years later in Pittsburgh when they did the Pulse tour. The level of detail that is put into a Pink Floyd show is epic. First of all the musicians are on another level. Even the sound, lights and FX are over the top.
"I have seen this tour four times and the 1994 tour three times. Since then, I have been to around 40-50 concerts, but these tours still remain my favorite ones by a long shot. The production values were awesome, particularly during those years. There was an indescribable mystique about them- the sound quality, the compositions- I can't explain it. These concerts are etched in my memory forever."
I am lucky that I'm old enough and can say I have been to many Pink Floyd concerts. There is no Other concert like a Pink Floyd concert. I grew up following Pink Floyd from their beginnings and what a ride it's been. I guess one could say it was my beginnings too lol. When I first started to listen to Pink Floyd Syd was still part of the band, I know I just dated myself lol. That's OK because the sixties, seventies and eighties were a great time to grow up in and I had a blast. Pink Floyd was just a part of that, just another brick in that wall that made up my life. P.S. Not gonna lie it's been great fun to see the next generation discovering and also loving Pink Floyd, we from the past have found common ground with you from the present. That makes Pink Floyd timeless.
I saw this live in 1988 In Stuttgart. It was their Momentary Lapse of Reason tour and to this day the best concert I’ve ever been to. I’ve been to a lot of concerts and nothing compares to a Pink Floyd concert
I saw my first live concert in the 60's and like to think I've seen most of the so called greats. These guys took you to another level. You left their concerts feeling emotionally drained. In a nice way. I very much doubt you will ever see their like again.
What an amazing song. At 553 when they all sing in unison its so angelic to me. And the meaning gets me everytime. Great reaction. Keep the floyd songs coming
I love everything about Pink Floyd. The sound. The concerts so amazing visually. But I really love watching David play. As a very mediocre player seeing how he does things. He makes so many different sounds without a huge box of pedals. His use of the Tremolo bar. And in this video, at 11:15 he does a small single tap with his right hand middle finger on the fret. Classic David. Not flashy. Its minimalistic. He never overdoes anything.
Ahahah! I made a comment thought it was 88-89 but you ARE correct!! It was 1987!!! Good god I should’ve done the math .. but c’mon … I hated math!! Hahaha but I. Loooooved going to concerts and saw Pink Floyd 3 times during that tour! Whoa!!! Every time BLOWN AWAY!
Thanks for reacting to one of my favorite Pink Floyd concert videos! I love the guitar solo in this song; it's so emotive! While I never got to see Pink Floyd live, I did see David Gilmour (the singer/guitarist) on his 2016 tour for his solo album, 'Rattle That Lock', when it came through Chicago. It was thrilling and the guitar solos were epic (of course!). I had only become a fan of Pink Floyd the year prior, so I was thrilled that I got to see David Gilmour in concert. He did a mix of his solo songs along with Pink Floyd classics. He only seems to tour about once per decade (prior to 'Rattle That Lock', his previous solo album came out about 10 years before that). He is apparently working on a new solo album; I hope he will tour it, as I'd love to see him in concert again.
I was at the “Rain Like Hell” show at Rice Stadium I. Houston 1994. A storm blew in with 50 mph wind , driving rain and lightning that hit the stage while they were playing run like hell 😂 everyone did run for the exits, the water was ankle deep in the parking lot. You could see the storm coming and for about 20 min before it started raining the lightening in the distance going off with the light show was awesome
Twice in Toronto, just across the pond from Rochester, NY. Maggie, the thing about watching live performances "to see how the sounds are made", is you have to have your eyes OPEN! No reaction whatsoever to my favorite vocal moment of the song, occurring at both 10:11, and also at 11:01, watching your mind's eye😊
So heartfelt and sadly awesome. Makes one with anykind of good soul think a bit. Masterclass as always. All the in betweens that David does is gold to your ears. Solid gold. Great job reacting.
Saw them four times, twice in one week, in October 87 at Capital Centre and June 1988 at RFK Stadium in DC and again there in July 1994. Epic proportions.
Pink Floyd in concert is the best. I saw them on the Division Bell tour where they played the entire Dark Side of the Moon back before the internet and you get there and go “Holy shit they’re going to play the entire thing!” Flying pigs, laser lights, crashing planes. Epic.
Thank you Maggie. It’s kind of strange that Pink Floyd an in general rock music, is getting so much recognition for the younger generation. That’s thanks to you and others doing these reaction videos. During the 80’s and 90’s the world turned its back on rock it was disco, rap and hip hop. Rock was old and had had its day. It wasn’t mainstream. This particularly happened with in the UK. I grew up on this stuff. Pink Floyd were amazing live the music took your soul/spirit on a journey, your u would have it. Thank you again God bless John
I love you all Absolutely best band ever EVER This is an amazing song to to bring peace and happiness in are lives We how important that word is WE WE ARE ONE PEOPLE WE ARE ONE NATION WE ARE FAMILY WE ARE BROTHERS WE ARE ALL SISTERS WE CAN DO AMAZING THINGS TOGETHER So stop the hate start the love please Go to someone today you would never go to and tell them hay I love you you'll be Surprise Don't give up on us WE LOVE YOU ALL
I saw this concert at Ohio State back in 1988. I saw the Pulse Tour 17 times in America and in London. They went on tour in 1994 just as I was getting out of the Navy. I heard The Division Bell Live for the first time in Concert in Houston. I bought the CD the next day and played in while driving across the country following Floyd. That CD is in my car CD changer in the car today. Edit: The last time I saw Richard Wright and David Gilmour play live together was in was in 2006 in Gdansk Poland. Once I heard that Rick passed away, I knew right then I would never hear my favorite song played live again…Echoes.
I went to see this particular tour about 4 times. I was at this exact show. And yes, being there was remarkable. Many moments u find people with their jaws dropped including mine. Being an atheist, it's the closest thing to a religious experience one could have. Floyd put so much into their live shows from sound (one of the earliest bands to bring their own sound system to arenas), the light shows (amazing use of all lighting including lasers and round screen projectors), Then additional props and effects ( oversized puppets and disco balls). I consider myself quite fortunate to grow up in time with Pink Floyd.
I saw them do Dark Side of the Moon in 1972 before the album was released while stationed in Germany in the army. The show was awesome for that early time but the sound and light tech became much more sophistcated by the time of this show. The music was all we really needed back then.
Pink Floyd, Montreal Olympic Stadium on July 6, 1977. After two encore songs, the crowd kept asking for more, to the point that even though the white lights of the stadium were on, the crowd kept asking for more. Despite most of the crowd staying to see the band do the "Drift Away Blues" number while roadies get the equipment out, (apparently Nick Mason was HILARIOUS since at the end he basically had nothing but his seat and one of his drums).

I was blessed to see this performed live in London 1989 , thanks for your reaction
Saw the Pulse show in Lisbon.
Its was all you can imagine and even more.
A part of me is reliving that day over and over.
I love Pink Floyd 😍😍
Saw them live at the Orange Bowl in 87. I wish I had appreciated them then like I do now.
Yes. saw them live in a soccer stadium in Hamilton Canada. unbelievable and life changing event. no words can describe the journey they take you on
Thanks for reacting to one of my favorite Pink Floyd concert videos!
I was there to
If you want the absolute pinnacle of live performances anything from the Pulse concert will blow your mind.
I was priveleged enough to see Pink Floyd 'The Wall' in 1980 in Germany. The most amazing experience i have ever witnessed at a live show
I know Pink Floyd when I hear them. And I instantly know a cover. I grew up with them in the 1970's. You can't fool me.
Saw Floyd 3x in '87, '89, and '94....some of the best concerts I've seen
Maggie it's been a while but you need to do more epica reactions❤️
So heartfelt and sadly awesome. Makes one with anykind of good soul think a bit. Masterclass as always. All the in betweens that David does is gold to your ears. Solid gold. Great job reacting.
8:40 is when you enter another dimension or go for a fly around space for a while👌😍
I got to see them on my birthday in 75. They played the Dark Side album and part of the Wish you were here album.
I got to see this show live, back in the day. I have seen many, many shows, but this one was the best.
Thank you again
God bless
John
My favorite guitarist great singer too

Margaret Taylor's wail at 10:13 is out of this world
yes i saw their MLOR concert tour just before pulse concert, it was epic and much of the Pulse concert came from that tour!
Despite most of the crowd staying to see the band do the "Drift Away Blues" number while roadies get the equipment out,
(apparently Nick Mason was HILARIOUS since at the end he basically had nothing but his seat and one of his drums).
I recommend that you also listen to Echoes (parts I and II), by Pink Floyd. This song is an incredible experience. The song's riff is a classic.
And Shine On You Crazy Diamond
I saw the Division Bell Tour, and I honestly cried how good how David was.
My favorite of their music.
🥰🥰😍😍🤗🤗👏👏😎😎
