- Today we have a BMW 1 series (F21) with a faulty electric window - This has been correctly diagnosed by another garage who have sourced a replacement secondhand FEM module and they brought the vehicle to us to program & code the donor unit to their vehicle - The FEM module is the central hub of the immobiliser system on these vehicles so they cannot simply be swapped from one car to another without specialist programming tools & knowledge. Here we show how to remove & refit a FEM module and the steps needed to program a replacement unit.
If you need a FEM / BDC module programming to a BMW vehicle then check us out here:

If you are interested in purchasing the diagnostic tool used diagnosing & clearing the fault codes in this video information can be found here:

Ho great video! Did you already unlock the old module & save the data & this here is you loading & writing (ori fem data) to the used fem ?
@@phillwilliams3399 Yes I believe I only videoed cloning the donor, reading ori is pretty much identical operation, thanks for watching!
@JC-ECUConnection
Your very good at what you do, I've been a technician for 15yrs & now getting into key programming & offering this service, I've done a few keys on these but haven't cloned one yet, ppl don't appreciate what they don't know & I know that this is a job for specialists! You my friend are 1👍
@@phillwilliams3399 Thanks & good luck with your programming jobs, it’s a lot brain trauma somedays but a great feeling of achievement when it all comes together!
can't see the links u promised would be in the comments section

Thx for good video
Thanks for watching!!
It was don't need to reset elv oder something to start the car?
@@waldemarfechtel1644 No, after we clone the FEM module it starts straight away..
Does it have to be a brand new board or can you reprogram a used board
@@firossibrahim2827 we can clone used units!
@@JC-ECUConnection would a bad bdc cause the car to not start on a bmw x4m 2020 I’m hesitant on ordering a new one
@@firossibrahim2827 Sorry, I can’t offer any advice without having the car present in our workshop..
Would this possibly affect the shifter?
@@Whatsthat600 I wouldn’t like to say if the FEM would be causing shifter problems or not I’m afraid…
When do we have to reset km ??? and what about milage correction is it from bdc of cluster ???
Good point! I didn’t actually reset the KM in the FEM module during the cloning operation, I did wonder whether I had to do it manually, I think this may be done by to tool during the process, it didn’t have any mileage issues after programming..
What happens when original FEM is damaged?
Hi, it depends what you mean by what you mean by ‘damaged’ - if you have communications with the FEM unit with a diagnostic tool then cloning is not an issue, if your FEM has ‘no comms’ then we cannot clone the unit.. currently the only option then would be a brand new unit, programmed with dealer tools..
@@JC-ECUConnection Thanks.
If my intrument cluster is not working and totally blank or sometimes only speedo working but rev counter and fuel gauge is not working, is it anything to do with the FEM module? Thanks!
Hi, thanks for watching!.. sorry but I am unable to help diagnose this fault but my instinct is that you most probably have a faulty instrument cluster / wiring fault & most probably not a faulty FEM module..
What tool do you use for clone fem sir.
We use a combination of programming tools, I’d rather not give all our secrets away via the message service I’m afraid as we offer this service via our website!
