Thanks plup. We're only doing HBox favors giving him just Fox against Puff. He had just one matchup to master.
Also it helps the community. We complain about watching Puff, but reality is that we're mostly sick of Fox/Puff.
Meh some people just don't like seeing a Puff, or don't like seeing Hbox in general because he tends to get on peoples nerves for one reason or another. Nonetheless, I agree. Fox/Puff is really the matchup no one wants to see because it's so frequent.
Mr Lemur I'll give it to you, alot of people are saying they're sick of Puff. But recent sets of Yoshi/Puff and Marth/Puff and now this were actually pretty hype.
I get where you are coming from, but but honestly i just want puff gone, preferable along with hbox.
For what reason in particular though? No one ever gives a proper reason when it comes to wanting characters or people gone.

I think people are realising throwing a bunch of foxes at hbox is just silly. It's the only matchup he has to care about, he's a specialist at this point. Attacking Hbox from different angles might be the way to go

Ariel Gomes He's been playing the game for 15 years, I'm pretty sure he knows all the other matchups very well. Not playing Fox against hbox's Puff is what's silly IMO. The simple fact that Fox can kill Puff at such low % is not something that people should start to overlook. Armada played the matchup very well in the 2nd set, 1st game at smash n splash 4 and that's how people should always/try to play against hbox.
nah dude fox kills puff so easily it's not even funny. Hbox has to be PERFECT when he beats fox-gods. Plus, puff can just crouch-rest under taller top 8 character's grabs, forcing them to rely on stray hits to rack up damage other than bonafide setups. Wizzy got his foot in the door because of his insane techs/reactions and falcons immense kill power (a stray knee at 50-60% could kill a puff depending on the stage). I just don't see anyone other than fast fallers beating hbox anymore.
Are people REALLY complaining about Puff when Hbox is literally the only Puff solo main who consistently does well? There are 2 in the PGR top 50 and the other one is ranked in the 40s.

"Bad" is a very arbitrary description of play. If we're talking execution, they were both flubbing. If we're talking mixups, Hbox had his dong out and Plup was bending over.

By the other hand even when Plup loses the tournament he usualy manages to take one set off of Hbox, while Armada beat his puff the last two(?) sets they played.

The players enter the ring to music just like a WWE event.
Even on that Yoshi's game that Plup won, Hbox almost took that game off winning like 6 interactions. Not to go all Leffen but daaaamn Puff is busted. A free rest on most of the cast because...they tried to grab or up B'd on stage. I saw Puff survive on Yoshi's despite getting up smash at 85 by Swedish Delight recently. On a human level, that's such an advantage.

Plups gameplay looks depressed while Hungrybox' gameplay looks scared/stressed, although these two played well I can see the errors in their gameplay and how it is I hope they have a brighter day in their mext tourneys and so on. It isn't easy to win with all the commentating on the way they play going on intense music etc, I hope these two have better tourneys their sets where good but had bad emotion, hope they have better ones later. My analysis.

Hbox was playing pretty sloppy in the first set it seemed so I was expecting Plup, who was playing like fire to take GF.

Michael Komolafe After losing his first stock, he made a stupid mistake and immediately lost the second. With the hit to his morale from his mistake and the fact that he was down 2 whole stocks, he decided to just throw the game and start fresh game 5.
One of the few times set 1 was so heart stopping a fun that I don't even mind Hbox winning.

Obviously it's not Hbox' problem/fault, but this top 8 would've been so much more fun and unpredictable without Puff. It does drag the excitement of watching down a bit.
Watch the Puff instead of the Fox and you'll find it fascinating and thrilling.

Joe :: Much like math, reading a good book or listening to music, it's only boring if you don't understand it. Every bair Hbox does, depending on drift, height, jumps, and stage position, has a different idea (and a unique mixup) associated with it. Most Melee players don't understand drift-based spacing because it's something they never have to contend with in any other MU due to how centralizing dash dancing is to the neutral games of most characters. This is because dash dancing allows free whiff punishing of almost every aerial in the game.
And bairing isn't enough in a Fox MU in which Fox can simply choose to spam lasers until Puff approaches. So approach Hbox does: focusing on his Puff is to be watching him try to get in with a character designed for zoning, not grappling. Add the fact that Fox can basically kill Puff at any time (and unlike Puff, who needs a grab, Fox can convert from a multitude of safe hits), and it becomes quite thrilling to spectate from Jigglypuff's perspective.
Pizza Shark this is true. If you go view locals where the only Marth is the top player, you undoubtedly hear someone say "all marth does is dash and chaingrab" when obviously they don't know anything about Marth. It's kinda childish bit I mean. lol smash
