Great matches! After Mang0 was sent to loser's bracket, something inside him fired up and pushed him to greatness. I had not seen him play like that in years. Luck was also slightly in his favor too, but Mang0 was pushing the pace in every single match and was looking for the win at all costs, so in a way he crafted it. He played beautifully against Armada in the first set, but I think that playing at such a high-level so long and consistently took a toll on him. At the same time, it is incredible how consistent Armanda was throughout the whole tournament. He beat everyone he faced convincingly and managed to overcome his loss against a legendary Mang0 and stop his crazy winning streak. His mental toughness is unparalleled. He is great at adapting to the situation, and I think that's what gave him the edge at the end. I think that anybody else would have probably fallen prey to Mang0. 2016 will be a great year for Melee. I can't wait to see more. Congrats to both!
Anthony B except this was a Fox ditto for two games and then it was Fox Peach. I understand that this was literally the match everyone had been waiting for since the second Genesis and it was definitely hype and still just might be one of the best sets EVER, but the Evo Grands set this year was absolutely insane. I don't think there's ever been as many moments where the winner of the set could have literally been either player ever.
I wish I was there in the venue. Stream was crazy but to see Mang0 play the way he played in person would've been something special especially with the hype in the building. He wanted Genesis 3. He was no buster this time. Side note: Samox was a cameraman.

Does anyone know when it's a good option to use bair vs dair when edgeguarding spacies' Up B? Peach seems to be more prone to get burned by the firefox/bird when using dair as compared to bair, in my experience.

Armada however never lost and made it to grand finals. Mango wins the first set against Armada, but you have to lose twice to get knocked out, therefore they play again, this time both of them are in loser's bracket.
Phil and HMW are cool and all, but Scar and Toph are just infinitely better commentators. I know it's tradition for G3, but if smash wants to go far, Scar and Toph level needs to become the bare minimum, not maximum.
