I'm giggling because when you were decluttering your protein powder and supplements you wanted to give to friends I thought "I bet her sister would like them" 😂
@@TheCarlaProject Carla, I really like your kitchen declutters and I think you can be proud of you. Every time I can see your kitchen countertop, I wonder why you put the blue pot at the spot where you work the most and therefore it's the most precious space on the counter? I understand, that you like to look at the nice blue pot, but couldn't you move it *just a little bit more to the left*, where there is space that you don't need for food prep etc.? More towards the corner? In my opinion that would be a better place for a rather bigger decorative item on the countertop.
I find it so cool to see your progress in the kitchen. Liked that you showed a short throwback sequence of you two years ago. A lot of memories came back (the spice jars with the label maker, the new floor and the different wall paint colors, the organizing projects with containers, that you started to drink coffee, the new curtains...) Greetings from Germany.
I LOVE that you do practical decluttering and organizing using things you already own, not trying to make a pinterest perfect space but a common usable space. You help so many people, showing the real concept and that you don't have to spend money to organize and declutter.
My Gosh!! How have I never thought of that? Any more tips? I have one. After your bath or shower, use your washcloth to wipe down your sink. Mine stays sink stays pretty clean
For any edible products that you've tried and didn't like, there are so many people in local giveaway groups like buy nothing that would be very happy to be gifted those items. Especially expensive items like protein powder.
Me too!! I love jars and bottles...I love how you said you were keeping them for gifts from friends and the reality is you did it once. I can relate!!😊
Thought for viewers - our local buy nothing group on FB gets posts of food and people ALWAYS speak up for items, even opened, so you never know. It's not exactly easy financial times for many
I look through my pantry, cupboards and refrigerator every week before grocery shopping and make a list. Anything close to the date goes into a basket near my stove so I will use it. I wipe shelves out, and put the new products in the back when I get home. I make all my meal plans with food that needs to be used in mind and strive for zero waste, throwing food out is throwing money out. I even shop at a bulk Amish store that sells bargain food slightly out of date. Archeologists found honey thousands of years old in ancient Egyptian tombs, and it was still good!
My neighbor set up a little pantry box in front of their place - basically just a wooden box with a roof and a sign that says 'take what you need, leave what you don’t '. I love it because it makes decluttering small items that aren't worth posting on buy nothing so easy. Kitchen items, but I've also put in new dog toys that I don't need, shampoo I don't like the smell of...anything that still has a useful life but I don't want. I've also picked up things like travel size toothpaste there, for some reason someone was giving away 10. It's great, I hope the idea spreads.

Let’s be real: the previous owner of that wine chiller had the same debate that you did about whether or not to keep it. It’s the perfect example of a “fantasy self” item. In the end they had to remind themselves that they just didn’t use it and weren’t going to, so out it went as part of their kitchen declutter. I also half-laughed and half-cringed when I heard you say that “it’s not hurting anyone,” because that is such a trigger phrase for me - my dad was a hoarder and every time I tried to help clean things up and encourage him to declutter, no matter what I pointed to, he would get mad and give that response as to why it wasn’t going away.😂 Tell you what: challenge yourself to host a get-together for New Year’s Eve or something like that, and see if you use the chiller for the party. If you do, then fine; it gets to live with you a little longer at least. But if you don’t touch it… then you know what must be done🍾👋🏻✌🏻💜

In one of the videos I watch somebody decluttering it helps this person to ask herself: " What do I want to keep?", instead of: " What do I want to get rid of?". Maybe this can help you too, especially with those items that had a good price tag 😊
I confuse my self with the person I want to be and the person I really am. I’m trying to fix that by not purchasing items that really aren’t me, it’s hard😂 Thanks for another great one Carla, you got rid of a bunch❤

Thanks for inviting us into your cleaning days. Great inspiration. Suffered a mini stroke in July 2022, my mobility changed, dealing with pain most days, and fatigue. So learning to function in a "new body," and pacing my days. Today decluttered several items from my closet that I had been putting off. Thank you for sharing your journey to an improved life daily. A safe and Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones.
I love the way Samson high tailed it out of there after he got his sweet potato treat.. His face and eyes are so cute. He was not impressed that his treats were out. It was cute how he pointed to the treat shelf.
Vitamins and spices don't "expire", they just gradually lose potency. Use them up. With your round splatter platter, stand it up using a sturdy plate stand so that you can see and enjoy the pattern.
Honey never expires. Unless its mixed with something. I was looking for you today. So far, I have made up a bag of 12 tops and 2 bottoms. And 2 gym shoes two dress shoes and 2 boots. All these are going to the Psych Unit ER. I heard they are discharging people who came from shelters and now have no clothes to wear when discharged. BTW, as a trombonist, I am loving the solo.. plus you have inspired me to make a whole tea area. Thank you!

One thing to consider,if I was a friend of yours,I would love to try the power paste, protein powders, etc.to see if I would like them without having to spend good money on an entire container, only to find that I didn’t like it either. ( That’s why I always buy the random boxes of half used shampoos or household cleaners at moving sales and thrift shops) You could put them all in a sturdy bag marked “Testers” pass it along to a friend who can then add or subtract from it and pass it along further. You hit the nail on the head- things change. What you need and can actually use changes. I am a hoarder of jars and have little by little been recycling the 'excess' (the definition of 'excess' is slowly evolving, but I'm getting there). I reuse wide mouth jars especially for fridge storage of leftovers or batch prep veggies, grains, and beans; and narrow, relatively short jars for the spice wall (I literally have an entire narrow wall of spices which is slowly being purged of outdated and duplicate jars). Reassessing needs from time to time (maybe even twice a year instead of once) can help keep the overwhelm of de-stash/de-clutter down to a dull roar.
good point about the different width jars. i never thought of that but i love wide mouth jars and my fave is a giant pickle jar... i used to drink iced tea out of that and i don't know what happened to it!
Years ago when I was downsizing, I lined up my bud vases. I had 8 of them...kept 2. One would have sufficed. Also, kept 2 board games and donated close to 20 of them. In the end, I'm never done decluttering. I don't shop for brick-a-brack anymore, but still find myself ridding my life of STUFF that I have no use for. You're doing great! Keep up the good work.
I wish I had kept track of what I declutterred a few months ago. I had the house to myself and was ruthless clearing the water bottle cabinet out. Donated or recycled at least 15 bottles. I’m sure my daughter would have wanted to save a few from grade school, she is now 19 years old! I also went through my pantry and found canned goods that expired in 2019. I know I had gone through them after that, but I must have missed them.
I dont know how you choose your music, but i absolutely LOVE IT. Ive heard everything from country to jazz to urban to new folk ive never heard before, all on your channel. Its wonderful.
@thecarlaproject. I managed to declutter 4 bags of clothes, threw out makeup I didn't use any more and hair accessories, cleared of a 6 shelf book shelf, gave all the Catholic books to my parish along with Rosaries.. decluttered cleaning supplies a bag full of ones that did not work very good, decluttered furniture I was not using, went from a huge coffee table and end table to an old antique Trunk and 2 smaller antique end tables, threw out old stained microwave dishes and old pots and pans. Got rid of blankets we did not use. Luckily kly a thrift store I took a lot of is a resale shop, so I can make some money off it, donate a couch since I bought a couch and love seat. Decorated Christmas tree and got rid of all the decorations left over which I ended up emptying 2 large storage bins ...
I love jars and other containers I can repurpose. Had it bad 😔...Two weeks ago I threw a lot of glass jars, bottles and small beauty empty containers. Also different spray tops. Felt good throwing about 99% away.❤ Great job.😊🙋🏾♀️
When I declutter kitchen items, it always amazes me to find things that I had literally forgotten about. I hate purchasing things over and over again only to discover that I already had duplicates in my kitchen. It's time for me to start making lists of items I really need before I shop for groceries, cleaning supplies, or anything else for that matter. 😕Your videos are very enlightening and encouraging. Thank you. 🤗
Been watching your videos for a couple of years and really love your content! I am also a minimalist and organizer so I really get a lot from your channel. I also help friends and family with their decluttering projects. It’s been fun watching you and your sister working together to declutter her house. I’ve been helping a close friend declutter her house and I have learned a lot from you in regard to helping your sister. Keep up the good work! Also, like the music you use on your videos!
You have great advice. I tried the 10min clean and it works. I the tried 25min and it has helped me so much. I donated most to a family in need. Thanks for the Inspiration.
We're on the same page Carla! I just pulled all kinds of crazy stuff out of my freezer! A lot of it was freezer burnt, such a shame. My 2 adult daughters live with me, and they tend to stuff things in corners and forget about them. I'm hoping to get them to see how much waste is costing them. I would like to go into the new year with organization and less waste!!! Big hugs to your sister, she is so brave to not only clean out her stuff, but also to let us all see! She's adorable, and I love her!
Great job with the pre new year clean! I’m on the fence with decluttering some things I had deemed “valuable enough to keep” until I realized I wanted peace of mind and space lol. Your declutter will be someone’s new treasure so let it go
Oh my god, Carla!! You got rid of the jars!!! Ive been waiting for this day for years - every little declutter, willing you on to be brave and allow yourself to let them go. Amazing job. You did a really bloody amazing job. Happy Sunday to you and Mr S ❤❤🎉🎉❤❤
December is my main decluttering month, too. I remember your kitchen declutter from a year ago, when you got rid of a LOT of stuff. Congrats - you’ve really kept it under control! ❤
It’s just so easy to collect clutter even if you’ve been on the journey for a while. I wouldn’t have known you had so many things to donate or put in the rubbish. And Mr Samson, you spoke the magic word and had to deliver something…lol. Roll on the next ep ❤❤
I really love your kitchen!! I'm sick and bored of minimal perfect-looking kitchens, yours look bright and welcoming. Don't change anything, keep it as it is 🌻
Thank you for your thoughts about giving yourself permission to just trash something like the protein powders. I tend to continually re-group my clutter because “so-and-so may be able to use this”. Unless your friends/family have asked you for your off-casts, trash it. A good chunk of my clutter is stuff I intend to hand off and much of it is unwanted handoffs from others. Learning. Adapting. Prospering.
awww 🥺Sampson looking back at the shelf thinking "just look for treats over there!" And his excited eyes to score a dehydrated sweet potato. 😁 The wine bucket... use it or lose it in the next pass. Or add it to the valuable things your friends might want a shot at.
Your videos are encouraging. I retired this year and I'm doing this in my home. In my head I want to do it in a day, but in reality it's taking awhile. Heigh Ho...
Мне так понравилось, как вы организуете пространство на кухне и не только! 🤩Вы выглядите очень мило и голос приятный! Надеюсь, Вас чаще будут приглашать помогать с организацией вещей! 🎅
Your kitchen has such nice lighting. I feel a house plant or cactus could be nice. Great job on the decluttering. I have a deep and closed pantry and found so many jars and canned goods that I had forgotten about.
Hi Carla. My daughter & I just finished a 3 day fast. It was great. I am decluttering my kitchen while watching your video. I wish I had a "Samson" to help me declutter. Thank you for your highly effective & inspirational videos.🙏🏽💕
I wouldn’t get rid of the fridge shelf. Just double it up inside the fridge. Even if you don’t need it, if you move and the fridge stays with the apartment, the next owner might need it. Hard to get a shelf for that style fridge.
You almost got me Carla! I watched the video and started thinking about rearranging my kitchen but once I cleaned up the dirty dishes I changed my mind 😂 At least for today - maybe next weekend!
You did a great job! Glad you kept the beautiful vases. The only things I would keep are those small jars with the wooden push-on lids. They’re adorable and don’t take up much room.
This is a great motivator! I recently did this very declutter of the kitchen cabinets, pantry & my mudroom… oh, what I discovered & purged! 😮 I also rearranged things in the cabinets, but my hubby was not too happy with that part-but he has adjusted. 😂 Love your channel & appreciate the fantastic content!
Yes, kitchen challenge, I will do that this afternoon when I have free reign, since I am off duty today. I am amazed that every time, you do a video like that, your space looks better and better. The question: would I buy it again is a real life changer, it helped me to get rid of so much stuff I don't need and like. Yes, holding on to stuff because "it could be useful one day" or "that was expensive" is such a hard one. Normally I am not super spiritual, but for these items, I do say kind of a thank you for being here and teaching me something about myself and time to move on now.
Great job! Kudos to letting go! Let go of the wine chiller. Also can you place the pretty spackle bowl on the shelf and put your snacks in that? That way your using it and can enjoy seeing it too. Great job!
i did a bunch of throw out today and THEN i found a whole box and two bags of forgotten christmas presents that i had bought quite a few years ago LOL Sometimes i forget what i buy if i buy waaaay before christmas or just after christmas for the next holiday.....i'm behind with gifts this year so i am using them !!
Hi Carla! Great job! I've been decluttering this week too! I wish you would store the scraper that's in your cleaning caddy with the blade pointing down so you don't accidently cut your self when reaching past it to grab something else in the caddy! Be safe!
I'm still plugging away. Most areas are done, but at the same time, never REALLY done. I took a breather to do Christmas decorating.. and then some time to rest and catch up on things that get behind when all of your energy is spent on decorating. ( like laundry and deep cleaning ) I have a few boxes of items waiting to be donated.. from my clothes closet. I actually got my husband to sort through his dress shirts and blazers, so that made another dent. End we sorted out our linen closet as well and it's only 50% full right now. It looks so much nicer.
Supplements fascinate me. I only used folic acid and iron tables during pregnancy prescribed by the doctor. There are so many, how do you know what needs supplementing, do they work, are they just a placibo like mind over matter. While you were helping your sister I was just amazed at the amount she had also. I didn't grow up in a supplement taking family. Maybe I would be more open to it if I did 🤔
Your videos are always so motivating, I feel invigorated to declutter my space. About supplements, you probably dont need all of them, real food is better, I like those meals that you advertise. I would say that taking good quality fish oils are maybe some of the most important. I like to see someone who takes charge of her health.
the jar obsessions is so real. I took a jar from work one day that wasnt being used and I had it on my desk and my boss was like oh! thats a nice jar! and moved it somewhere else so I went back for it after a few hours and the next day he asked. what happened to that nice jar? I was hell bent on taking the jar home and I have no idea where it could be in my kitchen 🤣
I take all expired prescriptions and medications to my pharmacy and ask them to please dispose of them. 😊 It’s also good to separate lids as then they don’t have to at the recycling plants.
There's always *something* that needs to go! Decluttering comes so naturally to me now, especially in high-use areas like the kitchen and bathroom. Every once in awhile I find items that hung around well past their usefulness, but not too often. The closet remains my big project always, with seasonal decluttering and annual reorganizing.
You did so good Carla! Goes to show there’s always something we can declutter. Yesterday I hit the “can’t think straight” mode and need to finish it later. Would I move with this item is a great thing to keep in mind. Awwwwe, the gimme treats face on Samson, such a cutie. 🐶💕
I recently discovered your channel, I’m watching from over the pond in London United Kingdom. Your videos are super informative and inspiring….thank you 🙌🏽❤️
I think that the augusten farm food is a good option for her if she can't rotate regular canned food. the Augusten farms stays good for a long time. Nice job!
You know your blue "splatter bowl"? It's lovely! Consider propping it up and leaning it on the wall behind (if that is safe) so you can enjoy the design of it. It will also free up some shelf space. I just rewatched this. Inspired to get a few more items out today.
I put video on pause. Went to cupboard pulled out vitamins, protein powered. Guess what? Found a protein powder 10 years old. I moved 2 years ago and still brought with me. I have boxes haven’t opened since moving. Working all the time. Thanks for motivating me on what category to declutter. Blessings
If you are a renter, how can you get rid of a shelf from the refrigerator or the cabinet? Don't you need to leave those things there for when you move out?
The struggle to declutter pretty jars! I've got rid of many of them so the ones left are totally adorable... and still too many. Same thing with notebooks, oh well.
I'm giggling because when you were decluttering your protein powder and supplements you wanted to give to friends I thought "I bet her sister would like them" 😂
Yup you’re right 😂❤

Honey doesn’t expire. If it gets hard you can just lay the bottle in some warm water and it will revert to its softness.
And spices are still good way beyond expiration dates. I don't throw those away unless the fragrance is gone.
Same here.
Dry pasta also. That stays good for much longer than what the date on the package says.
Use your senses. When it looks, smells and taste good, don't throw it away. So much good food is going into the trash what is unnecssary.
Great job, I will be doing that this week, Thsnks

I LOVE My Sundays with Carla and Samson!!!!! Thank you Carla You work so hard and you really lift me up ❤️❤️❤️ hello to your sissy too❤️
We love you back thank you!!❤️❤️❤️
You hit the nail on the head- things change.
I laughed so hard when you put that wine chiller back up and said it wasn’t hurting anyone. 😅
Love this series! Decluttered my kitchen with you...literally decluttered and organized two weeks ago and still found 25 items to part with.
Love this video. You make it look so easy. You’ve made it easy by doing it on the regular. It inspires me. Thank you.
Carla has the heart of a hoarder, but the good sense to get rid of the extra stuff.
Great job with the pre new year clean! I’m on the fence with decluttering some things I had deemed “valuable enough to keep” until I realized I wanted peace of mind and space lol. Your declutter will be someone’s new treasure so let it go
You’re so right!!
Very nice video. Perhaps you could put the painting on the wall? I Think it looks cluttered on the tabletop.😊
December is my main decluttering month, too. I remember your kitchen declutter from a year ago, when you got rid of a LOT of stuff. Congrats - you’ve really kept it under control! ❤
Put flowers in the wine chiller. It’s very interesting.
Learning. Adapting. Prospering.
Exactly!! I’ve fallen into same trap💖
Tulsi sweet rose is my new favorite!
awww 🥺Sampson looking back at the shelf thinking "just look for treats over there!" And his excited eyes to score a dehydrated sweet potato. 😁 The wine bucket... use it or lose it in the next pass. Or add it to the valuable things your friends might want a shot at.
Such a beautiful warm kitchen you've created!!! and wow! Last year's kitchen declutter to today!!! You've come so far in your minimalist journey!!!
Those drawers are not hard to repair if you investigate a little bit! You’re pretty handy! 👍🏻✌🏻💕😊
I have always used the "Would I want to move this!" It works!!!!!!!!
Your kitchen has such nice lighting. I feel a house plant or cactus could be nice.
Great job on the decluttering. I have a deep and closed pantry and found so many jars and canned goods that I had forgotten about.
Aloe vera is the best kitchen plant! Super low-maintenance, and the juice is great for digestion and any kinda (oven/sun etc.) burns!
Hi Carla. My daughter & I just finished a 3 day fast. It was great. I am decluttering my kitchen while watching your video. I wish I had a "Samson" to help me declutter. Thank you for your highly effective & inspirational videos.🙏🏽💕
If you can remove the top off of the wine chiller, it would make an adorable stand for a small Christmas tree
Got 2 shelves decluttered while watching. Thanks, Carla! 😁
The J in Tajin is pronounce as an H in Spanish.. ( Ta-heen).. For vases you could paint them a different color to match your decor or your mood.
I wouldn’t get rid of the fridge shelf. Just double it up inside the fridge. Even if you don’t need it, if you move and the fridge stays with the apartment, the next owner might need it. Hard to get a shelf for that style fridge.
Honey never goes bad. ❤ even for 100s of years
You almost got me Carla! I watched the video and started thinking about rearranging my kitchen but once I cleaned up the dirty dishes I changed my mind 😂
At least for today - maybe next weekend!
Lol 😂 fair enough!!
I am not alone! I just have the hardest time with jars! They are so functional and I just can't get rid of them...loved this video!
4:47 me too!! Jars are always so tempting!!
You did a great job! Glad you kept the beautiful vases. The only things I would keep are those small jars with the wooden push-on lids. They’re adorable and don’t take up much room.
THAT WAS VERY MOTIVATIONAL, THANKYOU GIRLY.
This is a great motivator! I recently did this very declutter of the kitchen cabinets, pantry & my mudroom… oh, what I discovered & purged! 😮 I also rearranged things in the cabinets, but my hubby was not too happy with that part-but he has adjusted. 😂
Love your channel & appreciate the fantastic content!
It’s amazing how fast stuff creeps into our life! Good job
Got in and cleaned 2 kitchen draws after watching this. 10 herbs and spices decluttered.
Wow seeing the difference from your kitchen now and 2 years ago is incredible ❤
Great job! Kudos to letting go! Let go of the wine chiller. Also can you place the pretty spackle bowl on the shelf and put your snacks in that? That way your using it and can enjoy seeing it too. Great job!
I thought the same: it is so beautiful, you should put it on a lower level of the cupboard that you can see it.
i did a bunch of throw out today and THEN i found a whole box and two bags of forgotten christmas presents that i had bought quite a few years ago LOL Sometimes i forget what i buy if i buy waaaay before christmas or just after christmas for the next holiday.....i'm behind with gifts this year so i am using them !!
Hi Carla!
Maybe I would be more open to it if I did 🤔
They work. I’ve tried life with and without and can tell a difference. My regulars are probiotic collagen and magnesium plus others periodically haha
What would you have asked/said to your Sister about the unused Wine Cooler? Keep or Donate? 😂
Your videos are always so motivating, I feel invigorated to declutter my space. About supplements, you probably dont need all of them, real food is better, I like those meals that you advertise. I would say that taking good quality fish oils are maybe some of the most important. I like to see someone who takes charge of her health.
I would give the wine chiller to someone for Christmas 🎄 😊
the jar obsessions is so real.
How old is your cooker ? it's a sturdy piece of kit looks like from the 1950s I love it. 💐
Yes I think from the 50’s it’s great!!
I take all expired prescriptions and medications to my pharmacy and ask them to please dispose of them. 😊
It’s also good to separate lids as then they don’t have to at the recycling plants.
I’m also glad u kept that wine chiller. It would be nice to use when u have your friends over. If not, it is an attractive decorative piece to display
Samson's face...😂. Excellent declutter. 🎉
I also had a jar 🫙 problem they are gone now 😊❤
I recently discovered your channel, I’m watching from over the pond in London United Kingdom. Your videos are super informative and inspiring….thank you 🙌🏽❤️
I think that the augusten farm food is a good option for her if she can't rotate regular canned food. the Augusten farms stays good for a long time. Nice job!
Thanks for this. I needed to make another sweep in my seasoning pantry and start again in my closet. The deadline for all is December 31st.
You know your blue "splatter bowl"? It's lovely! Consider propping it up and leaning it on the wall behind (if that is safe) so you can enjoy the design of it. It will also free up some shelf space. I just rewatched this. Inspired to get a few more items out today.
I feel that I am being educated and armed with great tips for decluttering my life....because of you, Carla❣️How liberating❣️ Kudos and thank you❣️
I put video on pause. Went to cupboard pulled out vitamins, protein powered. Guess what? Found a protein powder 10 years old. I moved 2 years ago and still brought with me.
I have boxes haven’t opened since moving. Working all the time.
Thanks for motivating me on what category to declutter.
Blessings
Great job!💝
Love your channel Carla! I have been decluttering all weekend and it feels so good!
I can relate to holding onto flower food... 😂 I have at least three packets in my kitchen now. 😅
I’m a minimalist have been since I was young, yet there is still always something to de clutter and organize. By the way- you look great Carla!
Oh thank you!🥰🥰🥰
If you are a renter, how can you get rid of a shelf from the refrigerator or the cabinet? Don't you need to leave those things there for when you move out?
The struggle to declutter pretty jars! I've got rid of many of them so the ones left are totally adorable... and still too many. Same thing with notebooks, oh well.
