she is a really good sport---i see some folks have a super hard time letting go of unnecessary and unusable things---your friend was ready to do this and the apartment is very cute. Your channel is inspiring alot of people.
I'd love to see a whole series of her decluttering the rest of her apartment! She did an incredible job on just the first pass at the kitchen. It was such a relief to her, I think she's ready to keep going. Working two jobs, it will change her life to get her home organized so it supports her rather than being a place of chaos.
Best video so far. I've been looking for real down-to-earth people that need to declutter for my inspiration not all these perfectly decor houses and large apartments.
I think you are the best at this. You are accepted by people that need help and are teaching lifetime skills. Just excellent work. Definitely a calling you are exceptionally suited for
She was so brave & I look forward to see her declutter more of her home. I imagine she's sentimental about more things other than the knife. I loved the parody you did about the salt packet. Hilarious. Very proud of her. I feel shell pair down more on her own once she sees how much she didnt need. It happens. Omg im so excited for her journey..well if she contines. Will this be several videos for her?.
@@TheCarlaProject awww I enjyed her. Her personality was great & she seemed so open to decluttering. I get so much joy seeing you declutter. I've watched all your videos at least 3xs each just to see all the magic. You take such care in helping people & not making them feel bad. It takes bravery to be on camera so I get it. I hope to see more videos from you channel in the future.
The kitchen definitely looks more open and organized. You're friend is so sweet and brave. I think it's such a courageous thing to let someone into your personal space to help out in any area of life. Side note, your new hair cut is super chic and beautiful! ❤
My mom has dementia and I moved in with her. The house is small and I am not organized. This video helped me so much! I wish I had a friend like you! You seem to enjoy decluttering and do not judge anyone.
I have a tiny kitchen too. I use a lot of narrowish but long containers (clear ones are great) or trays so that I can easily put things out and over cupboard door storage (decluttering has helped me a lot too!)
Concept that has helped me declutter even more: For decluttering even if you use the items, ask yourself if you didn’t have it, what would you use? If the answer is something perfectly adequate, declutter the other one. Seems simple but really it’s vital if you need to declutter more, and you are down to all things you do use.
I’m always amazed about how calm and helpful you are when decluttering other people’s homes. Respect! It’s clear they have a hard time letting go of stuff they don’t need. You are doing such a great job. It would be hard for me stand by calmly, when inside I’d be screaming “throw this sh… away!” 🙈 😅 I’m really glad you were helping out! I can feel the burden of all the things that were cluttering her home just by watching this video. I hope she feels better know! And I hope your friend will go on and work through the rest of her home! Less is more.
Thanks for allowing us on the decluttering journey. I enjoy cooking as well & you have some nice cooking gadgets!!! Please do another room soon!! Alot of us have small kitchens & bathrooms & we can benefit from observing your cleanup. It's very encouraging and positive 😊
I liked how realistic this was. She’s a cook. She loves to cook and show her love with food. It makes sense that she’d have emotions about cookware that was her mommas or her grandmas & the memories associated. And I love that you embraced giving her the space to have the items and to eventually make choices about them later if she desires rather than pressuring her to purge. I think what a lot of ppl in the cleaning community don’t realize is that forcing a declutter always backfires and leads to the accumulation of more stuff. She can function better in the space now and enjoy cooking so much more!
Big improvement. She made me think of myself. I’ve just realized that I don’t want to constantly be shuffling stuff around. I have gotten rid of so many things I thought were absolutely non-negotiable “keeps.” They’re gone. So unbelievably satisfying!
I love the chemistry between the two of you. This was the most fun to watch. Loved the declutter, would love to see the after… once all the trash, donation bags were gone. Too funny with the knife and spatula. 😂
Erica was such a great sport! She's like so many of us, trying to keep up with the demands of life, decluttering and dealing with stuff gets pushed down the priority list. I look forward to seeing her progress!
I love your videos and how kind you are to help these people who really need your help. I can't imagine living like that, it would make me feel on edge and not calm. Cleanliness and being organized helps a lot with mental health. ❤
Love her! You two are so fun together! She was making quick decisions. Also, like to see the whole process, remove items, declutter, clean and organize. And just do a few spaces at a time so it's not super overwhelming. Keep it up ladies, you are inspiring!
I laughed so hard at the potato knife! 😂 Great deep clean out!! I was amazed at how much came out of the bottom cabinet. Very freeing to get it all gone.
I love your decluttering videos! And when you help out your friends, it’s fun to watch. Seems like you both had a couple good laughs, which makes the whole decluttering process so much easier. Thanks to Erica for inviting us into her home. ❤
I love these types of videos, they’re so realistic. Good job Erica 🎉 with the wonderful help of Carla! I have a small kitchen too and keep 2 small pots and 2 stacking frying pans in my oven as storage.
Just wanted to share with everyone watching something I learned a few weeks ago: if you have green waste collection you can put your unused wooden chopsticks from restaurants in there! It makes sense right?! But I never thought of it lol. Also, loved the video! I feel for her with the awkward cabinets, but you guys did a pretty great job!😀👏
I think having a friend help de clutter makes a huge difference than trying to tackle some, you can assist with hard decisions and are a helping hand so she can focus on making decisions while you put them in trash or revealing. Also, you can make suggestions for finding everything a home a second opinion is always great and this looks way more fun than going at it alone.
She really DID do an incredible job of letting stuff go - even though she's quite sentimental. Was honestly extremely floored by her quick decisions! I hope to see more - I know a one-bedroom apartment can feel tiny and impossible - but it is just as capable of feeling spacious and open as any other space!
Omg, this is me. I 'm a sentimental person living in a small San Francisco apartment. When you're at an age that you've been able to collect a few things, it's an ongoing task to keep things organized. I love you and your channel. Kudos to you and all your friends for sharing your homes, it really is inspiring.
this is an adorable kitchen ! This is just my opinion but here it is: i see that so many people buy alot of "things" including food items that really are not necessary. I think that the buying is at the root of alot of the clutter. Being broke most of the time, I cannot buy anymore and stay clear of stores and my clutter has vanished because of it. One thing I neglected to do when I bought more, was throw things out when it was necessary to throw out. Throwing out old items, unused items is a key ! Thanks for your GREAT CHANNEL
I found that testing myself by just going to ikea & walking around & doing a self talk about whether I need the item in the basket or not. It helped. I put the cart back & left. LOL 😅
@@Michellehardyorg i used to put things in the cart and put them back by the end of the shopping trip !! Now i can't even shop LOL But it's actually a good thing. I buy whatever food i need, cut way back on clothing, etc. And definitely nothing for the house, it's all extra stuff.
Great job ladies! Shelf liner does wonders for a đrawer or cabinet. When you open it, it says HELLO!! And just my personal peeve..... DISH STRAINERS ON THE COUNTER! I love one that sits in the other side of the sink....outta sight. PLUS it's gives you more counter space. Such great progress you both did, makes it easier to breath!!
I just found motivation to get up and get rid of a few things today, before I go to work. I do NOT handle clutter well, so I try to get rid of items weekly. Even if I spend 20 minutes a day to go through a small area…it’s so freeing. ❤️
Your friend is delightful and seems like she'd be a lot of fun. It's so helpful to have two people. One to sit on the floor and one to grab stuff, otherwise getting up and down 100x is a killer. That is so funny you mentioned the clown car because I was thinking the same thing. :) I could have watched you two clean for hours. :) I hope you come back to her place and do other areas together. I can't believe she got 6 bags of stuff out of the cabinet space. I'm hoping all of that decluttering will help her feel more creative for her writing.
I really like these declutter with friends series. Not judging, but she sure had lots of items crammed in that small kitchen. It's a cute kitchen, reminds me of yours. I'm sure it must feel good for her to have it less cluttered. And....finding items she hasn't seen in a while. Nicely Done!
It is great fun to see you again with your friends. For me the most important thing about cleaning is its psychological aspect. I truly believe if we have a clean space around us, our life is less messy too. We also should know that putting things stright away on their proper places makes less mess and less need of organising. First we have to notice its pluses, We need to find the sence of it.
I’ve been loving your channel lately I’m pretty old subscriber it’s just amazing how willing you are to help your friends. Thank u for being one of the few channels I keep going back to I’m proud of the long way you’ve come Carla
I can totally relate to taking a photo then letting the sentimental go. I am doing that today as I tackle 4 large bins of stuff I have carried around with me for 30 -35 years!
You did great! And here I was patting myself on the back for decluttering my silver and utensil drawer last week. Ha! I have soooooo far to go. You win hands down. The annoying thing is that I've found it an on-going battle otherwise it piles up again. And again. And again.........
Some people use baskets/bins as drawers for deep cabinets so you can pull out & take out what you need, others use lazy Susan’s to quickly cycle/see what you have. But honestly what ever works for you! The idea to give priority access to the items you use regularly is great! Anyway you did amazing w decluttering & im sure you can tell by the comments everyone’s delighted that your kitchen is refreshed & can be more functional for you! ☀️
Gorgeous with the new hair cut. Wow, your friend is so so brave. Thank you for let us be in her house and congratulations she did an amazing job. Very very brave lady.💖💖💖
Wow. Great teamwork. You accomplished a lot of purging and organizing in just 3 hours. You ladies have me motivated to tackle my pantry and under my kitchen sink. And a big thanks to your friend for sharing a real life lived in home. Carla, please keep sharing these awesome helping friend’s videos.
Great job! It's SO much easier to cheerfully use a kitchen when you're not obstructed by lots of unneeded items & garbage. And it's super important to not pile everyday pots & pans so high that it's impossible to get at one without moving 6 others. (My only quibble: I'd have kept that big chef's knife or given it to a friend or charity, rather than toss outright. Items used often for many years have a resonance.)
I love declutter videos ,Its important to keep on top of cleaning and important to do a good declutter at least twice a year or it does become overwhelming !!
Ladies, you are gorgeous! Your friend is so damn brave, I do know how it is hard sometimes - to let smth go. But you did all that gently, with a bunch of jokes and it was truly delightful to see you both having fun and freeing the space for something new. Carla, u r the ray of sunshine, cheers to you both (and to all the lovelies in the comment section 💖)
I’m on a mission to declutter my kitchen so I love watching videos like these. I have quite a big kitchen but the more space you have the more space gets filled.😩
That corner cabinet probably used to be wider and more accessible till they installed the dishwasher. Often they have a hinged door that folds into the corner when it's closed but the opening is bigger and there's a lazy Susan inside. Think of a PacMan shape and that's the design. Not the most efficient but probably the best way to utilize an awkward corner space.
Congradulations! that is a big step in decluttering. I also have deep bottom cabinets. I use plastic bins to keep pots and pans and even dishes in so that I can just pull out the bin and its easier to reach. I replace or uprade any pot or pan that I use. I have have a small trash can under the sink and a recyle bin that so that the kitchen has no sign of a trash can. I use a small drop leaf table that can seat 4 people when unfolded and I have stackable chairs. I have learned from moving so much that decluttering every 3 months is a great whay to assess my spending habits and curate a home that is functional and represents me. Much Love to you both and keep up it up! I would love to see the living room declutter. decluttering for me has been like breathing deeper again.
Carla, you are so sweet to be helping your friends do this! I helped my one sister declutter her kitchen and dining room and my other sister I helped her declutter her closet. It’s hard work but helps tremendously when you have someone to guide you and tell you what you need and don’t need. Oh and I also helped the one sister scrub her cabinets afterwards 😵💫😂 I am passionate about cleaning decluttering and organizing too just like you, that’s why I love your channel so much! Keep being awesome! Love you! 🥰🥳🙏🏻🫶🏼❤️
I love how joyful this video is. Even though she feels sentimental about some items, you were both laughing and having a great time, and I was laughing right along with you.
Fabulous job! It's not easy parting with things, but it looks so much nicer, which makes us feel better. I have to stop procrastinating. My kitchen exploded......
❤ Thank you for the hint of taking a picture of what you are letting go. I've done three+ cleanouts for a relative (every time, they acknowledge it's an emotional connection to the possessions) and that's a great 😃 idea to express the love of the receipt of these items!
Fab video! You were both fun to watch. Great job getting so much out. Would love to see other spaces in Erica's house being too tackled as well xxx xxx
I wish i had a friend to help me. I have a horrible clutter of stuff i haven't got the energy to go through. It's too overwhelming and i have no idea where to start. Wherever i do start i give up because it makes no impact on the clutter. Great job ladies!
I get it. I did an extreme declutter & I haven't missed my stuff. At first I put stuff in sections then went back & tackled one section at a time. I once I decided a donate or recycle items it went straight to the trunk of my car or in the trash. I made myself an alarm on my phone to take it out.
Love the before and after. So relaxing. I have "sentimental " cooking utensils. They work so well and I hate searching for something new to replace it.
An idea for your friend. She can either write a list or take a photo of the items hidden in the recess of her cupboards that she can’t see and stick it on the cupboard door.
I'm moving out of state in a few weeks and your videos are giving me the motivation I needed to stop procrastinating and finally say goodbye to years of clutter. Whoo hoo!
“Would you pay to move this?” Is a question that /definitely/ helps w decluttering. Adding costs of paying for another box/moving truck, It helps put into perspective of its worth to you/your time. Kind of like the “if it was covered in red wine, how hard would you work to save it or should you let it go?” 🌟Good luck w moving btw! Best wishes for you & your new space!
I can relate so much to Erica' s situation! Except it's my whole apt. that needs work. This one made me laugh! Gotta do it with humor!! I love the way you give tips throughout the video. I am limited in my abilities due to health issues, which makes things even more difficult, I really want to get things done! I start & stop and never get finished! You give me hope & I appreciate your channel! I get motivated by the way you do things! So real!!! Keep up the good work! Love to you & Sampson! 💜🐶

She did a great job!
It’s so nice to help out your friends clean. This episode seven of cleaning with friends.❤
Yes it was!! I'll try to do one a month this year😍
I enjoyed watching you and you friend organize and declutter. You definitely know how to make it have fun! I was motivated to do the same. Great job !
I’m on a mission to declutter my kitchen so I love watching videos like these. I have quite a big kitchen but the more space you have the more space gets filled.😩
This is so true!! Ck out my five day declutter challenge playlist too xo
Soo nice to have a friend helping. ♡
Doing hard things alone sucks..
She's lucky to have you, Carla. 😊
I'm looking forward to part 2 potentially.
this is so true!!❤️
That corner cabinet probably used to be wider and more accessible till they installed the dishwasher. Often they have a hinged door that folds into the corner when it's closed but the opening is bigger and there's a lazy Susan inside. Think of a PacMan shape and that's the design. Not the most efficient but probably the best way to utilize an awkward corner space.
Or maybe it was designed that way. My corner cabinet is worse, in a brand new building.
Erica, You made tremendous progress. 👏 Keep up the good work!
This was an amazing decluttering session. This is real life and you both did a great job.
Erica did great-she’s so fun I can see why you a friends. Awesome teamwork.
@TheCarlaProject1 what is nice gram???
She did really great...hopefully this is a first pass. or Id love to see the rest of her house get decluttered too!
You are so good at supporting, yet keeping on task! She will feel so much enjoyment from this revamped space!
The square and rectangle plastic containers without lids are great for junk drawers and kitchen gadget drawers to group smaller items.
I absolutely love that you show Everything that you throw away! This is real decluttering! Great Job Ladies!
She did great!! You made it fun. We have to laugh sometimes at our thoughts about our stuff The struggle is real😂😂
These are my favorite type of videos. Love a great declutter. It feels so freeing. 💕
It's fun to see you both having fun while deculttering & congrats to her writing📝
thanks love!!
Great job cleaning out the old things. Hope she is enjoying her cleaner kitchen
Carla you have such great energy and vibe! Both of you are joyful!
you are the best thank you!!❤️❤️❤️
Carla, you are so sweet to be helping your friends do this! Love you! 🥰🥳🙏🏻🫶🏼❤️
So many decisions in one go! So much tossy tossy. Great job ladies.
Lol do you watch a hoarders heart too or is tossy tossy an actual term?
Erica is amazing! She brought a smile on my face, and I hope she has a much nicer time of cooking and baking in her uncluttered kitchen
This was so inspiring, it always feel good to help out friends. Yes please do the living room next.
yay glad to inspire!!
Looking at her space it looks like she is a visual person. Everything in closets was organized.
I hope we see her again!
Good job!
You guys are amazing, I can’t believe all that you were able to get done. I hope that you will continue with the process. Thanks for sharing!!
I love how joyful this video is. Even though she feels sentimental about some items, you were both laughing and having a great time, and I was laughing right along with you.
lol thank you we had a blast!!
I love your Declutter with Friends series. Lucky friends!
That corner cupboard most probably led to another dimension 😂 Now that would make a good story for a writer. “The cupboard in the kitchen “
Lol it seemed like it 😂
Fabulous job! It's not easy parting with things, but it looks so much nicer, which makes us feel better. I have to stop procrastinating. My kitchen exploded......
I really enjoy your declutter with friends video.
I'm so glad!
Would love to see other spaces in Erica's house being too tackled as well xxx xxx
i'm hoping we do more in the future too!!
She did soo good! I would love to see yall keep going.
That never-ending cabinet went on forever!
Kind of like the “if it was covered in red wine, how hard would you work to save it or should you let it go?”
🌟Good luck w moving btw!
